All right, folks, you know how you usually get ONE really good Wolverine story arc once every couple of years? Not to say there aren't some good reads in the Wolverine ongoings, but you know what I mean.. those epic reads like Enemy of the State, and so forth, the ones that only come around every few years.

Well this one is it. Tying into Mark Millar's new 1985 series, which is fantastic, Old Man Logan looks to be great. Here's word on the series from Marvel:

WOLVERINE #66 - OLD MAN LOGAN by MARK MILLAR AND STEVE MCNIVEN (CIVIL WAR) arrives this week!
It's not often that you get to see new and exciting things done with a character that's proven as popular as Wolverine, but this new Old Man Logan storyline sounds AMAZING! Tying into the mysterious new series from Mark Millar, 1985, Wolverine: Old Man Logan is set to be one of this summer's biggest story arcs. By the creative team that brought you CIVIL WAR, Old Man Logan is set 50 years into the future. No one has seen Wolverine in this time span. With a slight riff on the Clint Eastwood movie, Unforgiven, Logan has not popped his claws in many years, vowing to stay out of the craziness of his past. Some of the things mentioned to be in this series is the gamma-irradiated Hulk Gang, an 80-year old blind archer who just happens to be Hawkeye, and a new KINGPIN that has killed Magneto! This story arc is said to be tied in with the events of the upcoming Dr. Doom story arc in Fantastic Four, and the current 1985 series. How? We don't know, but, this looks like it's going to be a wild ride! Here's a link to a preview!

KICK-ASS #1 BACK IN STOCK THIS WEEK! ALL 3 ISSUES WILL BE IN STOCK AS OF WEDNESDAY!!
One of the biggest surprise hits of this year, Kick Ass, from Mark Millar and John Romita JR, has been an addictive read from the get-go. After selling out of two printings, Marvel finally makes the #1 available to you again, with this KICK ASS #1 DIRECTOR'S CUT edition. We will have all three current issues of the series back in stock as of this Wednesday, with 1,2, and 3 all available, so come by and snag them in one grab. Find out why this quirky little tale of a teenage comic fan who puts on a wetsuit and gets hospitalized has become one of our favorite reads here at Third Eye! We really can't say enough good things about the series, and with the #1 back in stock, you should definitely give it a read!

TWO HUGE TRADE PAPERBACK RELEASES! ASTONISHING X-MEN v.4, Y: THE LAST MAN v.10, and SINESTRO CORPS WARS v.2
Also arriving this week, we've got tHREE huge releases for trade paperbacks! Astonishing X-Men v.4 collects the final arc of Joss Whedon and Cassaday's phenomenal Astonishing X-Men run, and Y: The Last Man v.10 wraps up the last arc of Brian K. Vaughn's epic Vertigo series, Y: The Last Man! These were some of the best comic stories published in this decade, and now's your chance to catch up on them, with both runs being finished. Also dropping this week is the second collected edition of the SINESTRO CORPS WARS storyline that ran through all the Green Lantern titles last year. This was probably the BEST storyline DC ran last year, and if you didn't get a chance to check it out in the monthlies, now's your chance. We'll have both v.1 and 2 available on Wednesday!

SECRET INVASION TIE-INs for THIS WEEK!
We've got two big SECRET INVASION tie-ins coming out this week for you. First off, is SECRET INVASION: FANTASTIC FOUR #2 AND INCREDIBLE HERCULES #118! INCREDIBLE HERC is really turning heads as it's cult following is growing, and the SECRET INVASION tie-ins have actually been pretty cool in it. The Fantastic Four is beautifully illustrated by Barry Kitson, and brings a skrull blast from the past with Lyja, Johnny Storm's ex-fling!

THIRD EYE COMICS Presents: MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 2 TOURNAMENT 6/28/08

THIRD EYE COMICS - NEW IN STORES 6/11/08

SKAAR: SON OF HULK, and THE ETERNALS begin this week!
Two very promising new Marvel titles will be debuting this week, Skaar: Son of Hulk, written by Greg Pak (Incredible Herc, and Planet Hulk fame!), and The Eternals, with gorgeous art by Daniel Acuna (please, please, give this newcomer's art a look, he has not done a lot yet, but from the pages I've seen of this title, it looks amazing). Skaar: Son of Hulk basically gives Marvel an excuse to tell us more Planet Hulk stories, but I have no complaints with that. While WWH may have not been top notch, Planet Hulk was one of the best Marvel storylines of 2006, in my opinion! If you haven't read Planet Hulk, now's a great time to pick up the trade paperback! Here's a link to a Newsarama interview with Greg Pak about Skaar: Son Of Hulk.

The other big new Marvel title this week is the Eternals. When I first read about The Eternals debuting with an ongoing series, I was a little unimpressed, but after having read some preview pages, hearing about some of the big concepts Marvel has planned, and seeing the gorgeous interior art, I think this one's going to be a surprise hit. The story picks up where Neil Gaiman's Eternals mini-series left off, but it looks to deliver a little more action than the limited series. SECRET INVASION TIE-INs!
We got two BIG Secret Invasion tie-ins for you guys this week, along with a handful of second prints (with brand new covers)! The first one being Captain Britan and the MI-13 #2. This limited mini-series that ties in with the events of Secret Invasion sold out quick with the first issue, and after having read it, I could see why. The series is basically spotlighting just how the invasion is affecting England, and the rest of Europe, and in issue #2, the Excalibur sword comes into play. All this and a beautiful Bryan Hitch cover!

The other big Secret Invasion tie-in for this week is Secret Invasion: Who Do You Trust? This one-shot features a five stories about different characters and the impact of the Secret Invasion on them. The Beast and Wonder Man throw down, Abigail Brand (hot off her appearance in Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run) does some skrull-hunting, the Agents of Atlas come into play, and here's the one that a lot of you'll be wanting to see: some clarity on just what the heck is going on with Captain Marvel!

Also, we have second prints of Mighty Avengers #13, Secret Invasion #2, and third prints of Secret Invasion #3. There's also second prints of Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas and Invincible Iron Man #1 arriving this week (and if you haven't read either of those, you need to! I didn't really care much about Iron Man before the film, and these comics are really keeping the momentum going on the character).

DC COMICS: Green Lantern Corps #25, Absolute Sandman v.3, DC Trinity #2, and Salvation Run #7
Green Lantern fans, make sure you snag this one. The big throwdown between the Corps and Mongul begins in this issue, and the origins of the Black Mercy are revealed. You better believe that this is just the opening of the can of worms that will lead into next year's Blackest Night.

Also dropping this week is the second issue of Trinity, and the finale to Salvation Run in issue #7. And for all you Neil Gaiman buffs, the Absolute Sandman v.3 collection will be arriving as well!

6/28 MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 2 TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Saturday June 28th, we will be running our first video game tournament here at Third Eye. The game will be the Dreamcast edition of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Tournament time starts at 9PM, and there's a $5 entry fee. The winner will receive a store credit prize! We only have room for 16 contestants, but you're more than welcome to bring friends to come and watch. To sign up, you can either sign up in advance by emailing us, or just show up on Saturday June 28th, and we'll add your name to the list. Come show off your skills, and win some stuff too!

The one you've been waiting for, Secret Invasion #3 drops this Wednesday, and it's sure to be a big one. If you've been following the series, and it's associated tie-ins, then you guys know some heavy stuff's been brewing in the Marvel U. And as always, you can expect us to have our new books out and ready for sale right when the doors open at 11 AM sharp. And while we're on the topic of Secret Invasion, be sure to pick up the new New Avengers trade "The Trust", while not necessarily a SI tie-in or lead up, this trade collecting New Avengers 32-37 delivers one hell of a fun ride, dealing with the Hood, and his gathering of second and third string villains hellbent on taking advantage of all the chaos going on in the Marvel U while the Avengers are scrambling to figure out just what the heck is going on with the little hints of skrulliness they've gotten a whiff of. Mark Millar and John Romita JR's red-hot Kick Ass #3 also debuts this week, along with Ultimate Origins #1. Yeah, I know, they've been really pumping out the Ultimate mini-series, but Ultimate Origins is one that you're going to want to check out. Written by Brian Michael Bendis, with artwork by Butch Guice, this mini-series is supposed to be delving into plot-threads and story elements from everything like the Ultimates to Ultimate Spider-man. All the shadowy going ons shall be revealed!


DC TRINITY #1 ARRIVES!
DC is bringing us another weekly series, and this one looks very promising. A book that's set outside of the major events surrounding the DCU, that just plans to tell KILLER stories focusing on Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, with select back-up short stories focusing on other DCU characters. With a creative team like Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley (of Ultimate Spidey fame), this one should definitely deliver a fun read each and every week.

It's a free service where you give us a list of titles you'd like to have held for you, and we'll keep them on hold for you til you can come in to pick them up. Subscribers get a 10% discount on their books, and there's no minimum on the amount of titles to have to subscribe. All we ask is that you try to make it in once a month to pick up your books, so they don't build up into too much of a stack.
