THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE COMICS!

WOLVERINE 69 - OLD MAN LOGAN CHAPTER 4!!

This is the one that EVERYONE has been waiting for. The hottest storyline of this year, without a doubt, has been Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Old Man Logan saga. Spanning across three Marvel books (the recently concluded Marvel 1985, and Fantastic Four), this storyline has taken our imaginations by storm. By now, most of you have read 1985 6, and while it didn't play out how I expected (without giving away any spoilers here), it looks like something has been set in place within the Marvel Universe that will play into the events of Old Man Logan. Millar has said all three books will be connecting, and hot dammit, we're dying to see what his masterplan is here! So, the wait is over... you can come in here on Wednesday, and rest assured, knowing that the fourth installment of Old Man Logan will be waiting for you! It's been almost two months, but something tells me the wait'll have been very much worth it. Every issue of this series just gets better! For those of you who haven't started reading Old Man Logan, you're probably wondering just what the heck I'm talking about. Here it is in a nutshell: post-apocalyptic wasteland of a future, 95% of the Marvel superheroes are DEAD, Wolverine hasn't popped his claws in many years, and lives a life of peace, Hawkeye is 80 years old, blind, and completely badass, the Hulk and She-Hulk's inbred grandchildren control the West Coast, Dr Doom controls the majority of the country, and there's all sorts of mysterious clues leading us to wonder just what the hell happened on "The Night the Heroes Fell". Fantastic artwork from Civil War artist Steve McNiven, and of course, a well-crafted story by MARK MILLAR (writer of KICK-ASS, The ULTIMATES, WANTED, and more). If you're not already reading this one, then get in here and check it out!As for the rest of you, I'm sure I'll see a lot of you here on Wednesday for this highly anticipated chapter of what's been Third Eye's favorite event of 2008. From what Marvel's site is saying, we're going to learn just who the knew President of the United States is! Click here for a preview of Wolverine 69 *OLD MAN LOGAN*!

KEVIN SMITH (director of CLERKS, MALLRATS, ZACH AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO AND MORE!)DEBUTS NEW BATMAN SERIES WITH THIS WEEK'S BATMAN: CACOPHONY 1!

Between Old Man Logan, and this one, the top of your must-buy list is going to be duking it out. Director, and all-around geek god, Kevin Smith, has a brand new BATMAN two part miniseries coming out this Wednesday. This one is going to be a must-buy for most, whether you're a Batman fan or not! You know why? Cause it's Kevin friggin Smith! And don't worry... it's been promised to us that 2 is already in the can, so this will be a series of his that will actually finish! Anyways, this new in-continuity Batman story by Smith brings the return of his Omonopea (did I spell that right?) character that was ultra-popular in his Green Arrow run a few years back. This two-part miniseries promises the likes of Deadshot, Maxie Zeus (where'd he dig him up?!), and of course, the Joker! There's all sorts of craziness happening in the regular Bat-books right now, so why not enjoy a self-contained story that takes place outside of the events of RIP? Be sure to give this one a look this Wednesday, and don't miss out! Click here to read the preview featured on this week's MySpace Comic Books page!

JSA KINGDOM COME SUPERMAN SPECIAL BRINGS ALEX ROSS'S RETURN TO DOING AN ENTIRE COMIC!

Now, we've already told you guys how good Geoff Johns AWESOME JSA story arc has been, so we don't even need to get into all that. The reason we're spotlighting this one is because it's a true rarity. Alex Ross doing a full issue of interior art! Sure, there's plenty of Ross covers, or "conceptualized by Alex Ross", and yadda yadda yadda, but, to see this legendary creator actually do an entire issue? It's a definitely a big deal. And, hold on, it gets sweeter.. it's Alex Ross returning to the characters and concepts of the Kingdom Come universe (which have been playing out in the pages of Johns JSA run so far)! We all know that one of the coolest visuals to come out of the legendary Kingdom Come (which if you haven't read yet... do yourself a favor, and grab the trade paperback next time you're in here) was Ross's iconic aged Superman. CITY OF DUST 2 BRINGS THE NEXT PART OF THIS GREAT NEW INDEPENDENT SERIES!

The comic industry has grown so much, it seems like EVERYONE publishing a book. Due to this, sometimes we as fans, tend to get overwhelmed, and overlook certain books. But, when you find that hidden gem that almost slipped through the cracks, and it blows you away... then you know you've gotta get out there and spread the word. City Of Dust has been such a book. The first issue came out, and I picked it up out because I tend to like most of what Steve Niles does... but, geez, I didn't expect to get such a great book. The artwork was top notch, the production quality was aces, and the story hooked me in hardcore! Here's a little background on City Of Dust... it's set in a very Blade Runner-esque future, where all fiction, religion, literature, ect... it's all outlawed, and classified as mind crimes. Books have been missing for the last few decades. The main character, a law enforcement agent in this future, ironically enough got his own father arrested for re-telling the story of the Tortoise and the Hare at school. He's been investigating a series of grisly dismemberments, and then... well, I don't want to ruin the end of the first issue for you.All I will say about the book, and the general concept is: How does a society without folklore, or mythology combat creatures of folklore and mythology? How do you know silver takes out werewolves, and stake through the hearts put down vampires? Yeah.. this one is good. Check it out! Click here for a preview of City of Dust 2!
