THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE FOR WEDNESDAY 3/23/11

THIRD EYE FF LAUNCH PARTY THIS WEDNESDAY! JOIN US WEDNESDAY FROM 9AM-9PM FOR THIS SPECIAL LAUNCH DAY CELEBRATION OF FF #1 - GET EXCLUSIVE COVERS, FREE LIMITED EDITION PRINTS, & MORE

ff1Folks, no hype, this is going to be one of the biggest books of the summer. I guarantee it. This is Hickman's blockbuster, and as a rising star creator who's been really building an impressive arsenal of incredible stories, we feel that FF is the high point of Hickman's work. Seriously. I read this issue, I'm floored. And, like I've been saying for the last year (each and every time I pump how great Hickman's FF has been): I've never been a big Fantastic Four fan, but dammit, Jonathan Hickman has made me one.

This guy can write, and he has brought the freshest, most innovative take on the Fantastic Four that I've seen in years.

But enough of my gushing, lets talk about what it is, and why you need to get into it.

FF stands for Future Foundation. And, it's the rebirth of the Fantastic Four after their series ended with the final issue of Fantastic Four #588. With Johnny Storm dead, Marvel's First Family has to really make some serious changes, and readjust their approach to how they view things. And, as Reed has been moving in a darker direction for the last couple of years throughout Hickman's run, it looks like the Future Foundation is the more pro-active, futurist thinking team that he felt the Fantastic Four could not be.

Of course, there's many of the great elements that Hickman dropped into place during his run, like the future of Doctor Doom (which is most definitely touched upon in this issue, and it is AWESOME), as well as how the team is dealing with the loss of Johnny.

FF picks up directly after the finale of FANTASTIC FOUR, and while picking up many of Hickman's key storyline elements ,it also begins a brand new era for Hickman's FF run, and is a great jumping on point for new readers. The new series sees the Future Foundation formed from the ashes of the Fantastic Four, clad in new black-and-white costumes, and adding Spider-man to the ranks.

What is the direction and importance of the FF in the grand scheme of the Marvel Universe? Hickman is a true master of laying out pieces of a puzzle, and having them all come together seemlessly. The Future Foundation is exactly what it sounds like: it's a group who's looking to the future of the Marvel Universe. This means that the title holds a very special importance to the continuity of the 616 Marvel Universe, as this is where many big events to come will be first glimpsed, and many big events about to kick off will first spark.

Of course, the real appeal of this series is going to be the fact that it's Hickman taking the FF into an over-the-top, mad science direction that comes together in a really tight story about the key element of the FF: family.

With FEAR ITSELF kicking off right around now, it's very interesting to see where FF is going to play into everything.

I've said enough though, I'm trying to really hold back from dropping any spoilers, so let me just say this:

Try this book. Even if you're not a Fantastic Four fan.
Amazing characterization, fantastic art from Steve Epting, and some of the biggest, boldest Marvel storytelling we've seen in many years. READ IT!

THE WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS OFFICIALLY BEGINS THIS WEDNESDAY WITH WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS CHAPTER ONE and WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS CHAPTER TWO in GREEN LANTERN #64 and GREEN LANTERN CORPS #58

warofthegl1

The WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS officially begins this Wednesday with GREEN LANTERN #63 and GREEN LANTERN CORPS #58, not just one chapter, but TWO chapters.

Here it is, folks, the biggest Green Lantern story to spark off since the start of Sinestro Corps War and BLACKEST NIGHT.

After many of the tensions placed upon the Green Lantern Corps throughout the Blackest Night, and the aftermath of it, the Corps is prepared to tear itself apart from within, and caught in the middle of it all is Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, and.. Sinestro? Yes, These are the men who must save the Green Lantern Corps from itself.

Folks, you and I both know how awesome a job Geoff Johns has been doing with his work on the Green Lantern books, and WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS looks to be no exception to this. I really cannot wait to see this one officially kick into full swing this Wednesday.

So, where do we begin this week? A malevolent force has usurped control over all the power batteries, leaving Corps powerless except a select few members... and, well, we just talked about who those select few are. Now, these warriors have to overcome their differences, and come together to fight the outrageous odds they face.

And, then also dropping this week, is GREEN LANTERN CORPS #58, which brings the second chapter of WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS, and while the solicit information is very cryptic on this, one thing looks to be sure: John Stewart vs. Kyle Rayner.

I've been a huge fan of all the Green Lantern stuff since Geoff Johns came on the book, and it looks like WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS is going to be one of the most exciting chapters in the series so far.

New to the GREEN LANTERN stuff? This is the perfect spot to come on. And, if you missed the Prologues that took place in EMERALD WARRIORS 7 and GREEN LANTERN 63, don't worry, we've got both issues in stock and available to get you caught up going forward with this week's first two chapters.

CLIVE BARKER RETURNS TO COMICS & HELLRAISER, WRITING THE BRAND NEW HELLRAISER ONGOING SERIES FOR BOOM! STUDIOS (publishers of IRREDEEMABLE) WITH HELLRAISER #1 THIS WEDNESDAY

Also, featuring an extra story by co-creator of THE MATRIX LARRY WACHOWSKI

hellraiser1

Dude, I am so freakin' stoked for this! I'm a huge Clive Barker fan, and as an old school horror head, you know I've got a soft spot for Pinhead and the Cenobites. Seriously though, it's pretty exciting to see an author like Clive Barker making a return to the comic medium. This guy still remains as one of the best horror writers in any medium, so it's awesome to see Boom snag him for the world of comics.

And, with this brand new ongoing Hellraiser series, we are in for a serious treat. Joined by artist Leonardo Manco who really impressed the heck out of us with his work on Hellblazer, Clive Barker brings us the writer's long-awaited return to the world of Pinhead and the Cenobites, and tells an all-new chapter in the Hellraiser series' official continuity -- a trajectory that will forever change the Cenobites, AND Pinhead.

While details are being kept hush hush about the nitty gritty of the plot, we've got a feeling that this one is going to be a must-read for any self-respecting fan of horror comics. And, with Barker writing it, it's really got potential to be a big hit.

AGE OF X CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH NEW MUTANTS #23 *AGE OF X CHAPTER 4* - ONE OF THE BEST X-MEN STORYLINES WE'VE SEEN IN.. AGES! AND, A MUST-READ FOR FANS OF THE "AGE OF APOCALYPSE"

newmutants23 The AGE OF X continues this Wednesday with NEW MUTANTS #23, delivering the fourth chapter in what's quickly become one of the most exciting new X-MEN crossovers we've seen here at Third Eye.

What is the AGE OF X? Due to an event that occurs in the past, but is mysteriously connected to the regular 616 Marvel continuity, the timeline is altered, and history has shown us a world where the X-Men never existed. And, it's awesome.

This storyline has a very strong AGE OF APOCALYPSE feel, and that's probably a big part of why we dig it so much. All of the X-Men characters you know and love have all seen their lives take drastically different paths, and half teh fun of the series is seeing these characters in situations where they could have ended up. One example being Cyclops, who is known as Basilisk, having had his eyelids cut off, and being turned into a human firing range at Alcatraz which is run by Arcade.

The series is just plain awesome, and it's better to find out the surprises for yourself than us spoilering 'em for ya here.

All we can say about this week's chapter is that Rogue, who is now in possession of a knowledge that could mean the collapse of Fortress X, is on the run, and hunted by every other member of the mutant race. Will she survive, or be taken down by her own comrades?

We've currently got all the issues in stock for AGE OF X, so catching up is easy, with only 3 chapters preceding this one out so far.

TWICE THE BATMAN AWESOMENESS THIS WEEK WITH BATMAN INC #4 & BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT #2 - THE TWO BIGGEST BAT-BOOKS ON THE STANDS BOTH RELEASING ON THE SAME WEEK!

batmandarkknight2

Not one, but two Third Eye Bat-Must-Buys this Wednesday as the highly anticipated second issue of BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT and the fourth installment of Grant Morrison's quirky, mind-bending BATMAN INC both hit the shelves of Third Eye this week.

It's no secret that we've been totally jazzed about how DC has revitalized all of the Batman titles, giving us some of the best damn comics on the stands with not just DARK KNIGHT and BATMAN INC, but also books like BATWOMAN, DETECTIVE COMICS, and TOMASI/GLEASON'S BATMAN & ROBIN. So, you shouldn't be surprised to see how stoked we are to see that not just one, but two of the biggest of the current crop of Bat books are hitting the shop this Wednesday.

First off, lets start with the extra-biggie: BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT #2, the second issue of what is possibly the biggest Batman title since Jim Lee and Jeph Loeb's run on HUSH. This is a pretty book, folks. It just looks good, and we're stoked to see that the long-awaited second issue is hitting this Wednesday.

For those of you who're looking to get into a Batman title that follows the adventures of Bruce Wayne, breaking heads in the heart of Gotham City, then this is the book for you. This is very much a traditional, dark, down and dirty kind of Batman book with incredible artwork from David Finch. Finch is looking to bring the kind of supernatural weirdness, and macabre weird crimes feel of '90s era Batman back to the Caped Crusader with his take in DARK KNIGHT, and the first issue did a perfect job of that, as we saw a Killer Croc who was juiced up on Venom, and the Penguin cast in a very devious new light.

If you're not yet reading DARK KNIGHT, you need to be, as this is truly a piece of just plain comic awesomeness. We've got issue #1 still in stock and available to catch you up to this week's issue #2.

BATMANINC4

And, we can't forget the Bat-master himself, Grant Morrison, and his epic, world-spanning BATMAN INCORPORATED, which is the title that Morrison began after finishing his epic run on BATMAN AND ROBIN.

Batman Inc is the flagship title of the Batman books, and follows Bruce Wayne as Batman traveling the world, and setting up a Batman for each and every country. It's a real blast, and if you were a big fan of Morrison's work on BATMAN AND ROBIN, then this is a must-read. He brings all the post-modern, sleek storytelling he fashioned so well for the Caped Crusader on BATMAN AND ROBIN to the world of BATMAN INC in a big way, and it's never popped os well.

Wanna get caught up on BATMAN INC? We've got issues 1,2 and 3 in stock to get you caught up to this week's #4. Find out why this remains our personal favorite Bat-book month in, and month out.

THE WAIT IS OVER! INVINCIBLE ULTIMATE COLLECTION VOLUME 6 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY DELIVERING YOUR NEXT SLAB OF ROBERT KIRKMAN SUPER-HERO AWESOMENESS

invincibleultcollection6

Here it is, folks, this is one we know many of you guys have been chomping at the bit for, and now, for those of you with the intense patience it takes to wait for these beautiful hardcover collections of Robert Kirkman's incredible superhero coming-of-age saga INVINCIBLE, we've got the latest and greatest coming this Wednesday with INVINCIBLE ULTIMATE COLLECTION VOL 6.

This volume collects issues 60-70, as well as INVINCIBLE RETURNS #1, and gives you the much-talked about INVINCIBLE WAR that shocked the hell out of everybody.

Bloody, brutal, and awesome, the stories in here are fantastic, and are a high point for Kirkman's series.

For those of you not yet reading, INVINCIBLE... you need to start! From the same writer who's brought us WALKING DEAD and HAUNT, Robert Kirkman brings the same formula he used with WALKING DEAD of telling a strong, character-driven story that gets you emotionally invested, to the superhero genre, and INVINCIBLE has just as many gut-wrenching cliffhanger endings as WALKING DEAD.

If you're a Kirkman fan, and you're not reading INVINCIBLE yet, then you really need to start. You can either pick up with the softcovers and start with INVINCIBLE volume 1, or with the hardcover ultimate collections (which usually collect 2 or 3 trades in one volume) with INVINCIBLE ULTIMATE COLLECTION HC vol 1. We keep plenty of both in stock and available.

RICK REMENDER (writer of the new VENOM ongoing series) continues to kick-ass with the new UNCANNY X-FORCE this Wednesday inUNCANNY X-FORCE #6 - A MUST-READ! Find out why this is one of our top 5 favorite Marvel books on the stands

uncannyxforce6We're freakin' stoked about Rick Remender's run on UNCANNY X-FORCE. He's seriously writing not just one, but two of our favorite Marvel books now between this and the new VENOM ongoing series. There's just a sense of freshness, and excitement that UNCANNY X-FORCE has that's unique. It's got an energy all it's own, and we've been impressed with each and every single issue.

Now, coming after the events of UNCANNY X-FORCE #6, where we learned of a future where a techno-organic virus broke out turning many of the Marvel Universe's heroes and villains into Dethklok cyborg killers, we see that the virus has found it's way into the present day and it's gotten to X-Force.

Buried deep, sequestered under a million years of unnatural evolution, Father, architect of the World, has a solution to the relentless and fruitless super human conflict that has left the Earth teetering on the brink of destruction. And, it's the Dethlok virus. A virus that will spread, acclimate and control all of the heroes he fears, and distrusts.

So, what's X-Force going to do? They're going to kill this guy, and his perfect future with him. Screw Utopia, X-Force is about free will. And, we can't wait to see the bloody carnage that ensues.

Folks, when it comes to comic book perfection, you'll be hard pressed to find another series that comes as close as UNCANNY X-FORCE. Top notch story from Remender, a self-contained, accessible direction to the overall story and feel of the book, and a pairing of the best modern artists working in comics makes X-Force a must-read, and a series that's definitely worth going back and catching up on if you've missed the earlier issues (which we've got in stock and available now here at Third Eye).

Or, if you'd rather, you can just jump on with UNCANNY X-FORCE #5.1, as part of Marvel's POINT ONE initiative, it's an easy, and accessible jumping on point to get you good to go for one of the best damn books being published.

ECHOES #4 CONTINUES IMAGE'S PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR SERIES ABOUT A MAN WHO'S DISCOVERED HIS FATHER WAS A SERIAL MURDERER

Missed 1-3? We've got 'em in stock!

echoes4

This creepy, little psychological thriller came up out of nowhere and surprised the heck out of us a few months ago, and we're stoked to see the amount of buzz it's been starting to get.

The story of ECHOES centers around a man named Brian who's living a nightmare. His recently deceased father, who Brian shares the disease of schizophrenia with, confessed to being a serial killer on his death bed. Now, Brian is racing to solve the mystery of a missing child in his town, all the while feeling his own condition taking a deeper and deeper grip on his psychoe, and his mind beginning to unravel.

Totally creepy, and downright eerie. Echoes is a fantastic read that fans of movies like SE7EN, or ZODIAC will really enjoy.

Missed 1-3? We've got copies of each in stock to catch you up.

REIGN OF DOOMSDAY & RISE OF ECLIPSO CROSS PATHS AS BOTH CONTINUE THIS WEDNESDAY IN JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #55 *REIGN OF DOOMSDAY CHAPTER 3* - THE RETURN OF DOOMSDAY HAS BEEN STELLAR!

Doomsday vs. Cyborg Superman

jla55

Okay, so it's not just the nostalgia, I am officially digging this Doomsday Returns storyline that's been going on with the whole REIGN OF DOOMSDAY thing. It's been pretty freakin' kick ass so far, and the first two issues have impressed the hell out of me.

The whole idea of the being that killed the Man of Steel coming back to hunt down the original Supermen who took Superman's place after his death is definitely a cool one, and the first two chapters (STEEL #1 one-shot, in stock now, and OUTSIDERS #37, in stock now) really delivered. I ESPECIALLY dug the big Doomsday vs. Eradicator throwdown in Outsiders, which was just plain brutal.

Now, as the Rise of Eclipso begins to cast it's shadow over the JLA, and Blue Lantern Saint Walker joins the team, things get even more crazy with Doomsday tearing a path through Batman, Supergirl, and Alpha Lantern Boodika in his search for CYBORG SUPERMAN as the Reign of DOOMSDAY continues!

Click here to view our official THIRD EYE COMICS REIGN OF DOOMSDAY checklist and get caught up on this killer storyline. We've got all chapters in stock and available now.

ALAN MOORE'S NEONOMICON #4 *THIRD EYE MUST BUY* CONCLUDES THE MOST HORRIFYING TAKE ON HP LOVECRAFT AND THE CTHULHU MYTHOS YOU'LL EVER READ THIS WEDNESDAY

neonomicon4

The single most disturbing, most horrifying comic I think that any of us have read here at Third Eye has been Alan Moore's NEONOMICON. While we love CROSSED, and it totally disturbs us in new ways with each issue, NEONOMICON is just downright nasty.

The story follows up on THE COURTYARD (available here at Third Eye in graphic novel form), which showed us a world where the FBI is investigating ritual murders surrounding a cult of individuals who believe that Lovecraft, his writings, his characters, and his ideas were all part of a real world history, and all the Cthulhu stuff exists.

In one of the most compelling takes on the whole Cthulhu and Lovecraft Mythos, Moore manages to bring the same kind of disturbing dread, and surreal weirdness of the old school Lovecraft stuff into the 21st century.

And, now, in NEONOMICON, we're watching as two new FBI agents investigate the case that broke one of their own, and the sinister underworld that they've only begun to understand.

In this fourth, and final issue, Alan Moore (writer of WATCHMEN, V FOR VENDETTA, LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, KILLING JOKE) and JACEN BURROWS (CROSSED, CHRONICLES OF WORMWOOD) return to the world of Agent Brears, who has quite literally been to hell and back. Hell just happens to look like a network of tunnels beneath an esoteric little bookstore in Salem, Mass. But, now that Brears has walked out of hell, she can see things that most people can't. The kind of things that would drive most people mad. But as NEONOMICON draws to a close, Brears has one more thing she wants to share with you, Third Eye Faithful.

Pure horror comic awesomeness, if you haven't checked this one out yet, started with the COURTYARD, and work your way up from there.

5 RONIN CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH 5 RONIN #4, AS THIS KILLER RE-IMAGINING OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE AGAINST THE BACKDROP OF FEUDAL JAPAN CASTS IT'S SPOTLIGHT ON PSYLOCKE

5ronin4

Dude, Marvel has really hit a homerun with this new 5 issue limited series, 5 RONIN. It's been a blast so far, and every single issue has really kept the momentum and the quality up. In fact, it's almost getting hard to pick a favorite, because each issue brings something new to the table that another did not.

In the vein of Neil Gaiman's 1602, Marvel is re-imagining their characters against the backdrop of the Marvel Universe, and casting the focus on a specific set of 5, with each character getting the spotlight in their respective issue.

The Wolverine as a wandering ronin, the Hulk as the retired warrior, and the Punisher as a tragic vigilante, have all kept us interested. Now, this Wednesday, we'll be seeing the release of one that we're especially stoked for, 'cause Psylocke just plain kicks ass, and that's 5 RONIN #4 featuring the story of Psylocke.

Missed issues 1-3? We've got 'em in stock to catch you up.

Click here for a preview of 5 RONIN #4

THE THIRD INSTALLMENT OF MIKE CAREY'S KICK-ASS LITERARY CONSPIRACY SAGA ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH THE UNWRITTEN VOLUME 3 DEAD MAN'S KNOCK

A must-read for fans of FABLES and SANDMAN

unwrittenvolume3tp

Man, do we love ourselves some UNWRITTEN here or what! This series has kept us enthralled right from the get go, and it's always exciting to see another chunk of it come out in trade paperback.

This Wednesday, the third volume of the critically acclaimed, NY Times Bestselling series arrives, and folks, if you're not yet reading the UNWRITTEN, you have gotta give this one a shot and snag a copy of volume 1.

If you're a fan of series like FABLES and Neil Gaiman's SANDMAN, you'll especially dig it. Also, fans of stuff like LOCKE & KEY and HOUSE OF MYSTERY will be big on this as well we feel. It's a damn fine supernatural mystery that gets you hooked straight from the start.

What is the UNWRITTEN? Meet Tom Taylor. His dad created the mega-popular Tommy Taylor boy-wizard fantasy novels. But dad modeled the fictional epic so closely to Tom that fans constantly compare him to his counterpart, turning him into a Z-level celebrity who lives off that reputation alone.

When a scandal hints that Tom might really be the boy wizard made flesh, Tom comes into contact with a mysterious, deadly group that's secretly kept tabs on him all his life. Now, to protect his life and discover the truth behind his origins, Tom must travel the world, to all the places in world history where fiction has shaped reality.

Whether it's the manor where Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, or some other legendary place, Tom finds out that the line between what's real, and what's not is a very thin one.

This series is a freakin' monster of a good read, folks, and if you're not already on board with this one, we recommend picking up the first book and giving it a go.

As for those of you who're already hooked; we'll see you this week for volume 3. :)

MARK BAGELY RETURNS TO ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #156 *DEATH OF ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN CHAPTER ONE* - AFTER THE PROLOGUES PROVIDED THE SET-UP, THE DEATH OF ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN OFFICIALLY BEGINS THIS WEDNESDAY IN ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #156

ULTIMATESPIDERMAN156

After some very exciting prologue issues in ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN and ULTIMATE AVENGERS vs NEW ULTIMATES, the official first chapter of the DEATH OF ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN arrives this Wednesday... and it looks AMAZING.

First and foremost, this issue marks the return of the original Ultimate Spidey artist MARK BAGELY who worked on the series for over 102 issues alongside Bendis. Now, the two reunite to put to rest one of the most important characters created in the last decade.

We've really enjoyed all the Prologue stuff that's set up for this, so we can only imagine how awesome this is going to be with Bagley back on art, and things kicking off officially.

Missed the Prologue Chapters? Don't worry, we've got 'em all in stock to catch you up.

IMAGE COMICS DELIVERS INDIANA JONES meets HELLBOY with LORNA RELIC WRANGLER THIS WEDNESDAY IN A DEBUT ONE-SHOT! THIS LOOKS AWESOME!

Fun Fact: DC's Occult Architecture Was Configured to Summon Elder Gods

lornarelicwrangler

This one looks like a blast, and we hope that the one-shot does well enough to warrant this one turning into a full-blown mini-series, or ongoing series.

In a fun mash-up of Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones, and stuff like HELLBOY, and a sprinkling of TV shows like DECODING THE PAST, Image brings us the debut of Lorna the Relic Wrangler. She's a gun-toting femme-fatale that has no problem blowing a zombies brains out, or accidentally awakening Cthulhian overlords.

And, she's coming to Washington, D.C. To defeat a nefarious evil entity, Lorna, must pilfer a mysterious artifact from a Memorial in the heart of our nation's capitol. What she doesn't know is that she's offering herself up as a sacrificial party favor in the process.

More awesomeness from Image, I'm stoked to check this one out.

MARVEL POINT ONE CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH THOR 620.1 ANDCAPTAIN AMERICA 615.1 - TWO PERFECT JUMPING ON POINTS FOR TWO SERIES THAT'RE REALLY HEATING UP

cap6151

Marvel continues their kick-ass new Point One initiative this Wednesday in two about-to-become huge books (c'mon, you know they've gotta gear up with these two for the summer, folks! :) )

For those of you who may not know what the .1 thing is all about, it's basically an issue that acts as a stand-alone story that offers a perfect jumping on point to new readers, while at the same time not pulling current readers out of the story. These are fantastic ways to try a title you've been wanting to read, but haven't wanted to go back and get caught up on 30 or 40 issues.

First off, we've got CAPTAIN AMERICA #615.1, which primes you for the upcoming story arc that'll be tying into FEAR ITSELF in a big way. This is a great spot to jump on with Cap, and get a feel for the tone of the series, as well as get an understanding of what's come before.

Click here for a preview of CAPTAIN AMERICA 615.1

thor620point1

Next up is THOR 620.1, which offers an excellent jumping on point for the most kick-ass run of THOR we've seen in a while. This one, guest-written by the masters of all things cosmic, DAN ABNETT & ANDY LANNING, delivers a stellar throwdown between Thor, and the Grey Gargoyle that prepares you for the next story arc to take place in the Thor title.

THE MISSION #2 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING THE EERIE NEW HORROR COMIC WHERE A MAN HAS BEEN COMMANDED BY ANGELS FROM ABOVE TO KILL! Missed #1?

We've got it in stock to catch you up!

themission2

Image has made a good track record of impressing us with new and interesting titles, and THE MISSION impressed us last month. The story centers around a man who is confronted by an older fellow named Gabe, telling him he's been chosen for a mission, and that he plays a part in the war between good and evil. Paul dismisses the notion, but not before Gabe hands Paul an envelope and tells him that he has to kill some guy named Neal Corman within the next 48 hours.

Paul becomes more and more obsessed with the idea of killing this man, even though he kind of brushed Gabe off as a weirdo, and after some seriously odd stuff happening to him, he realizes that it may be worth considering to save his own skin.

And from there, we get taken into this creepy, surreal little horror comic that impressed us a great deal last month.

Missed #1? Give it a look, and snag a copy of #2 this Wednesday.

TRANSFORMERS: HEART OF DARKNESS #1 - Who Doesn't Love Galvatron? ABNETT & LANNING (ANNIHILATION, THANOS IMPERATIVE, INFESTATION) bring the fan favorite back!

transformershod1

So, we're big Transformers geeks here at Third Eye. As children of the '80s, we have a soft spot for these giant robot madmen, and when we hear that one of our favorite writing duos is going to be penning an all-new Transformers comic, we take notice.

Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning, the guys who were most recently behind stuff like THANOS IMPERATIVE, INFESTATION, and HEROES FOR HIRE (as well as a plethora of WARHAMMER 40K novels) are bringing their knack for sci-fi to the world of Cybertron in this new limited series which shows us one of our all-time favorite baddies, Galvatron, and where he's been while missing, and what his plans are for the future.

It's Galvatron, It's Abnett and Lanning, it will rule. :)

THIRD EYE STAFF PICKS
Steve - FEAR ITSELF BOOK OF THE SKULL PROLOGUE - So jazzed for this event, folks! A pulpy start with the prologue this week, what an awesome read, and Sin is just downright brutal. Make sure you snag a copy of this one, as it drops several easter eggs that will lead to major revelations in the actual FEAR ITSELF series.

Trish - HACK/SLASH Ongoing #2- I can't NOT pick HACK/SLASH as my favorite. I love the series so much, and with it on Image, the art and stories have never been better.

TORMA - BRIGHTEST DAY #22 - DEATHSTORM! Seriously, BRIGHTEST DAY is getting closer to its end and getting better, and better with each issue. So pumped to see how it finishes.
