fearitself1
Here it is, folks. The biggest freakin' Marvel storyline since CIVIL WAR. This is the main event. This is where we're going to see the entire landscape of the Marvel Universe change. We've been talking this one up for quite some time now here at Third Eye, and after having just the prologue with Book of the Skull to whet our appetites for this, it's finally time to get stoked and prepare for FEAR ITSELF.

We've been told a few things about the story, and while we do have to keep tight-lipped as not to ruin any major directions of the story, we can tell you this: this book will change the direction of SEVERAL major Marvel characters. Much like CIVIL WAR in regards to how it set the path of the Marvel Universe for years to come, and made major ramifications on the lives of many of it's primary characters, you can expect to see the same thing from FEAR ITSELF.

We can also say that from what we've been told, there's going to be two issues in particular that are so big, they'll be getting nationwide media coverage. We can only imagine just WHAT those things could be.

Now, in terms of talking hype, and whatnot, FEAR ITSELF is looking to not just be an important book, but also a damn good book too. See, the creative team on this one are two of the most talented guys working in comics today. MATT FRACTION (who's run on INVINCIBLE IRON MAN has rocked it since day one, and his current run on THOR has been impressing the heck out of us) and STUART IMMONEN (a talented artist who is set to become the superstar he deserves to be with this series) have great reputations in regards to not just putting out good work, but putting out good work on time. And, folks, as we know with events, scheduling can be EVERYTHING. One of the things Fraction assured us when we spoke was that the series would be on schedule each and every month. I'm stoked to hear that. :)

So, the question is now: WHAT IS FEAR ITSELF? Fear Itself is a major Marvel storyline that encompasses the Marvel Universe as a whole, and centers around a major revelation concerning WHO really are the GODS of ASGARD, and how the faith of Thor may be shaken as a result. Oh, and there's a serpentine Asgardian God of Fear who's been awakened by the new Red Skull (his lovely daughter Sin), and is spreading pain, despair, and suffering across the entire Marvel Universe.

What we can tell you, without giving out any spoilers, is that several Marvel characters will be chosen as avatars and heralds for this enigmatic Elder God (imagine Cthulhu mythos by way of Asgardian lore, and that sums it up) who is higher in rank than Odin himself. From what Marvel has shown, we've seen images of characters like The Hulk, Juggernaut, and even obscurities like the Grey Gargoyle, being given Mjolnir-esque hammers, and charged with the power of Asgard....

The question is: why? And, that, my friends, is what we are just as eager to find out as you are.

Seriously though, I am unbelievably stoked about this whole storyline. It's going to be incredible, and judging form the art, and story pages we have gotten to see... it's looking phenomenal.

We're going to be seeing some MAJOR MAJOR stuff go down, new characters stepping up, classic characters biting the dust, and fundamental changes being made to characters we've all known and loved.

It's going to be incredible.

No matter what, folks, do NOT miss out on FEAR ITSELF #1 this week. It's going to be every bit as epic as it's been advertised to be.

For those of you who snag a copy of FEAR ITSELF #1 this Wednesday, you'll be entered into a prize drawing for one of the very limited COMICS PRO MEMBER Exclusive Variants. This is a variant cover that was only available to shops that belong to ComicsPro, and would definitely be a nice little piece of FEAR ITSELF awesomeness to win. :)

FEAR ITSELF: HOMEFRONT #1 - THE OFFICIAL COMPANION TO FEAR ITSELF OFFERS THE REDEMPTION OF "CIVIL WAR" INSTIGATOR ROBBIE BALDWIN / SPEEDBALL, AND FILLS IN THE GAPS BETWEEN EACH ISSUE OF FEAR ITSELF!

fearitselfhomefront1

And, in the grand tradition of CIVIL WAR, and CIVIL WAR FRONTLINE, Marvel is debuting the brand new FEAR ITSELF HOMEFRONT along-side of FEAR ITSELF #1.

This 7 issue limited series serves as a very cool way of filling in the minor gaps in between each issue of FEAR ITSELF. You know, the subtler moments, and the back story of some of the characters involved.

One of the really cool aspects of HOMEFRONT, is it brings some of the spotlight back to the man who caused the entire CIVIL WAR mess: Robbie Baldwin aka Speedball aka Penance. See, Robbie is the hero who caused the big Stamford disaster that killed loads of kids, and sparked off the CIVIL WAR, which in turn, wrecked the entire Marvel U.

Now, Robbie Baldwin's been on the road to redemption for quite some time, and he starts to notice some odd things occurring as a sense of dread, and fear grips the Marvel Universe.

And, that's just one aspect of the book, as the title will feature on major and minor characters and how they're dealing with the events of FEAR ITSELF, as well as the unraveling of the mystery behind FEAR ITSELF.

NONPLAYER #1 - THE NEXT IMAGE CLASSIC! AMAZING ARTWORK, AND A STORY THAT THAT BLENDS THE BEST ELEMENTS OF SCIENCE FICTION AND CLASSIC FANTASY INTO ONE MODERN PACKAGE.

"INCEPTION" meets "WORLD OF WARCRAFT"

BUY THIS BOOK!

nonplayer1Holy cow. This book is gorgeous. Amazing GEOFF DARROW and MOEBIUS-inspired artwork that you just don't see every day. The attention that's paid to detail in here is incredible, and the colors, the flow of the character's movement and facial expressions, it really is something to behold folks. I mean, you look at this, and it just sucks you in completely.

If you enjoy just plain good comics, you need to pick this book up. Whether you're a fan of the non-mainstream fare or not, you NEED this book. First and foremost, not only is it pretty to look at, but it's got an incredible little story going on too.

What is NONPLAYER? The story centers around a woman named Dana Stevens, who like the video game fantasy world of Jarvath, Dana herself is a bit of a twist on what she might immediately appear to be. The plucky female fantasy hero is an established arch-type in the world of fantasy storytelling, but Dana is a much more modern, sophisticated take on the convention. In fact, she almost comes off as a bit of a misanthropic slacker, except for when she's online, and that's where she shines as a heroine in the world of Jarvath.

See, NONPLAYER is all about a real Mid-21st Century version of America that doesn't offer much to Dana Stevens, but in the WARRIORS OF JARVATH, the world's most popular full-immersion online game, she's a somebody. In the real world, she's a tamale delivery girl who still lives with her mom, but inside the game she's an elite assassin. When she gets the drop on King Heremoth, a celebrity non-player character, she thinks she's finally got a shot at in-game fam. But, when she slays Queen Fendra, the King's reaction is disconcertingly realistic... and, the powerful individuals who control these avatars, begin to blur the boundaries and walls of the virtual world the killing took place.

An amazing genre blend of sci-fi, and fantasy, NONPLAYER is truly a unique piece of work, and we cannot recommend it enough.

Make sure to snag yourself a copy this week, as the first printings of the book sold out weeks ago at the distribution level. We've got plenty to get you hooked up, but trust us, this one is going to be in demand once you guys see it in person: it's freakin' amazing!

BRIGHTEST DAY #23 - THE PENULTIMATE CHAPTER OF BRIGHTEST DAY ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY, AS THE CONCLUSION TO DC'S YEAR-LONG STORYLINE NEARS

brightestday23

This is it, folks, only three more issues of BRIGHTEST DAY left, and while we're going to be sad to see this epic storyline end (c'mon, you gotta admit, it was nice having something to look forward to every other week from DC that ALWAYS delivered!), we CANNOT wait to see how this one finishes.

The last few issues counting down to it's conclusion have been incredible, and we're sure that things are only going to continue to heat up as we come to the end.

For those of you who may have missed out on BRIGHTEST DAY, we've got ALL the issues in stock 0-22, to catch you up to this week's #23. If you're looking for a great gateway into the DCU, or if it's been a bit since you've picked up on a DCU title, we highly recommend hopping on with this series, as it's been a great example of what Geoff Johns (BLACKEST NIGHT writer, and writer of BRIGHTEST DAY) called DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH.

In the wake of BLACKEST NIGHT, we've seen many deceased DCU characters resurrected from the White Lantern revealed at the end of BLACKEST NIGHT. Now, going forward into BRIGHTEST DAY, we've seen these same characters rebuilt, re-defined, and re-imagined in a modern context that's made each one of them a much more awesome fit for the modern day DCU.

Plus, the mystery of the White Lantern has been a kick-ass hook that's kept us interested the entire series through.

Highly recommended, folks, snag the first graphic novel collecting 0-7, or the individual issues to add to your collection, and get caught up in time for the soon-to-come grand finale!

THE BOYS VOLUME 8 HIGHLAND LADDIE TRADE PAPERBACK ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY! YOUR NEXT SLAB OF SUPERHUMANS-GONE-BAD AWESOMENESS FROM "PREACHER" writer GARTH ENNIS

theboysvol8highlandladdie

I know we just made a bunch of you happy with this news. :) Heck, the announcement of a new trade paperback of THE BOYS tends to do that to folks, and we can see why. It's one of the best series on the stands, and never fails to deliver.

This week, the 8th volume of Garth Ennis's critically-acclaimed superheroes-gone-wrong saga, THE BOYS, hits and we couldn't be more stoked to see it on our bookshelves next to the previous 7. This volume shows us some very special insight into the world of Wee Hughie, and his background, as well as his place in the world of THE BOYS.

Not reading THE BOYS? Wondering what it's about? THE BOYS is a series written by GARTH ENNIS (PREACHER, PUNISHER MAX, CROSSED) where the world is inhabited by superheroes who act as private contractors offering national defense services. There's marketing behind them, there's corporate guidelines, there's all sorts of insidious ways for them to make money on their righteous images, and along the way, they all slowly become more and more corrupt. We're talking REALLY bad, folks.

The main character, Hughie, starts the series at a fair with his girlfriend, who is literally ripped from her arms when a bad guy is thrown by A-Train (the Boys's equivalent of THE FLASH) without A-Train looking where he's tossing him. From that point forward, Hughie is brought into the world of THE BOYS, a covert group of individuals who's lives have all been destroyed by "The Capes" as they call 'em, and now work to ensure the U.S Government maintains a steady control over these loose cannons.

An amazing story, and not for the weak of heart, this one never disappoints, and if you're not reading it, we highly recommend checking it out!

GREG PAK & FRED VAN LENTE'S QUIRKY STYLE OF MYTHOLOGY AND ADVENTURE RETURN WITH HERC #1 THIS WEDNESDAY

herc1

We were HUGE fans of Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente's humorous, yet action-packed INCREDIBLE HERCULES series, so we're pretty stoked to see the big lug returning this Wednesday with HERC #1.

Van Lente and Pak do a fantastic job of weaving in real-deal, detail-heavy Greek mythology, with the modern day Marvel Universe, and using Hercules as an accessible, and humorous way of approaching it. This, Third Eye Faithful, is a recipe for a really fun, really different kind of comic that delivers a unique kinda read.

And, with the new direction of Hercules with this new series, HERC, we're even more stoked. See, Herc's been given a new mission and a new code: take out the worst of the worst still walking the streets of the Marvel Universe. But, who's first on his hit list? And, just what mythological weapons has he stashed away from the arsenal of ARES GOD OF WAR to enact his revenge.

That's right, Third Eye Faithful, Marvel's biggest, most brutal party animal is going to be going head to head with the entire criminal underground of the Marvel U, and we cannot wait to see how this one plays out.

BLUE ESTATE #1 - "100 PROOF ACTION" IN THIS BRAND NEW ULTRA-VIOLENT, HIGH-OCTANE CRIME NOIR SERIES FROM IMAGE COMICS

blueestate1

Here's another new IMAGE series we were pretty stoked to see some early pages of a few months ago, and are pumped to see arriving this Wednesday.

This one is a visceral, straight-to-the-throat crime noir espionage series that leads the reader through a breakneck landscape of mistaken identities, backstabbing conspirators and maximum firepower.

Slacker detective Roy Devine Jr. narrates this fast-paced tale of tangled relationships and alliances. His tale begins with a pair of tabloid darlings: former "it girl" Rachel, and her leading man, the action film star Bruce Maddox. Bruce has been involved in some shady dealings on the side, and it doesn't take long for a handful of merciless gangsters and careless bit players from both the Russian and Italian mafia start screwing with his life.

The book is very interesting in the way it's laid out in terms of design, as different artistic styles are used to complement the unconventional story and characters. The artistic styles shift within issues to indicate jumps in time, swings of mood, and reversals of fortune from scene to scene.

It truly is one of a kind, and looks INCREDIBLE. Whether you're a big crime noir fan or not, you should check this one out based on the sole fact that it just looks great.

The story itself is set against the backdrop of modern-day Hollywood where the bright lights cast the darkest shadows, and we're introduced to many, many sleazy and shady characters.

Another interesting take is the twist on the noir genre, as we're shown the statuesque, cunning femme fatale on one hand, but then the P.I is a slacker who follows bad guys on twitter, plays Wii, and eats a bit too much Taco Bell.

There's a great rhythm to the dialogue, and if you're a fan of series like CRIMINAL, INCOGNITO, or 100 BULLETS, you'll especially dig this one.

Check it out this Wednesday!

BATMAN BEYOND #4 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING THE KILLER NEW ONGOING SERIES EXPLORING THE WORLD OF TERRY MCGINNIS

batmanbeyond4

As long-time fans of the BATMAN BEYOND animated series, we've been totally digging the brand new ongoing series that's been giving us all new adventures of Old Man Bruce Wayne and Terry McGinnis.

After kicking things off with a very killer JUSTICE LEAGUE BEYOND-esque storyline, we're moving ahead, as Dick Grayson begins to realize the worst nightmare of any masked vigilante: his secret identity being exposed.

Bruce and Terry believe they can still put the genie back in teh bottle, but they're going to need Terry's closest friend, Max, and her computer know-how to make it happen.

This is going to be an awesome read, simply because it's rad to get to see more of Dick Grayson in the BATMAN BEYOND future.

Missed issues 1-3? We've got copies of each in stock and available now to get you hooked up!

INFESTATION CONCLUDES THIS WEDNESDAY IN INFESTATION #2 - THE CROSSOVER THAT PITTED TRANSFORMERS, GHOSTBUSTERS, GI JOE, and STAR TREK against ZOMBIES comes to an end!

infestation2

Man, IDW delivered a really fun crossover with INFESTATION. Totally ridiculous, and totally over-the-top, but it was a blast all the way through, and we're pretty eager to see how this one concludes.

Britt has returned from the universes of TRANSFORMERS, GHOSTBUSTERS, GI JOE and STAR TREK, armed with new technology that will spread the Infestation across all known realities. And, with zombie apocalypse looming over the world, humanity's last hope may be a risky sacrifice that could alter the universes of Transformers, Ghostbusters, Gi Joe and Star Trek forever.

MARVEL POINT ONE: UNCANNY X-MEN #534.1 - Jump on board with UNCANNY X-MEN this Wednesday with Marvel's newest POINT ONE issue!

uncannyxmen5341

Marvel's POINT ONE issues have been excellent ways to jump into a series you may have been on the fence about checking out, but haven't really found a good place to start. With the .1 issues, they offer you a perfect opportunity to jump into the story, and get caught up without having to backtrack on several issues of story, so you're prepared for the upcoming story arcs.

And, this Wednesday, Marvel is delivering another excellent POINT ONE issue with UNCANNY X-MEN #534.1. As some major storylines are gearing up for Marvel's merry mutants, this issue reveals to the Marvel Universe that Magneto is not only living amongst the X-Men but working alongside them.

How will the rest of the Marvel Universe handle the fact that one of it's most infamous super-villains is now an X-Man, and how will that affect the public view of mutantkind? This Point One issue not only serves as the perfect easy-entry jumping on point for Marvel's flagship X-Men book, but also sets up some key points for this summer's recently announced X-MEN SCHISM storyline where the X-MEN teams will be split into two factions: Wolverine's team, and Cyclops's team... and they're both at odds with each other.

Click here for a preview of UNCANNY X-MEN #534.1

BPRD: THE DEAD REMEMBERED #1 - A YEAR ONE-STYLE ORIGIN STORY OF HELLBOY AND BPRD'S VERY OWN LIZ SHERMAN BEGINS THIS WEDNESDAY!

bprddeadremembered1

One of the things that Mike Mignola has really done well with his world of BPRD and HELLBOY has been fleshing out the characters, and their backstories, and it looks like he's set to add even more depth to the world of BPRD with this new limited series that acts almost as a YEAR ONE story for HELLBOY'S own LIZ SHERMAN.

Three years after accidentally burning her family alive, 14-year old firestarter Liz Sherman travels with Professor Broom to investigate a small New England town, where a terrible witch hunt occurred and a ghost plagues a priest's home.

What more can we say? Mignola always delivers, and more BPRD is never a bad thing! Plus, we love the flashback stories with Professor Broom.

THE INTREPIDS #2 - THE SECOND ISSUE OF IMAGE'S PULPY NEW MAD SCIENTIST-FUELED SERIES ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY AND IT LOOKS AWESOME! A MIX OF "ATOMIC ROBO", "HELLBOY", and a little bit of SCOTT PILGRIM-esque HUMOR

Missed issue #1? We've got copies in stock to catch you up!

intrepids2

Following up on the hit debut of this red-hot new IMAGE SERIES, INTREPIDS #2 is one that I'm personally really looking forward to this week. I really dug the first issue, and cannot wait to see where this series is heading.

The Intrepids really is a unique kind of comic book, and I think that's what really appealed to me about it. On the surface, it sounds like just a plain and simple quirky humor-filled book, but there's a lot more going on here than that.

The Intrepids is actually a very pulpy, weird science-driven adventure series with the same kind of biting sense of humor that something like HELLBOY, or THE GOON has.

The story revolves around a reclusive inventor who has made it his life's work to prevent other scientists from using the same know-how for evil. And, to do so, he's taken in many runaways in his travel, training them into an elite squad of "mad scientist busters."

You want giant robots? You want cybernetic monkeys? You want raygun-toting, jetpack-sporting femme fatales? THE INTREPIDS delivers all of these, and more, and does so with a unique, and compelling style of artwork that fits the tone of the series PERFECTLY.

A must-read, we love the series, if you missed out on issue #1, don't worry, because we've got copies available and in stock now to get you caught up to this week's #2.

THE REIGN OF DOOMSDAY CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY IN SUPERMAN/BATMAN ANNUAL #5 *REIGN OF DOOMSDAY CHAPTER 4*

Doomsday vs. CYBORG SUPERMAN!

supermanbatmanannual5

We have been so digging the REIGN OF DOOMSDAY storyline that's been running through a few of DC's titles this Spring, and the fourth chapter that this Wednesday pitting DOOMSDAY against CYBORG SUPERMAN, one of our favorite DCU villains.

The REIGN OF DOOMSDAY has been a killer story, showing us the beast responsible for taking out SUPERMAN, now on the hunt for the original SUPERMEN who replaced The Man of Steel after his death.

The story began in the STEEL #1 One-Shot, which showed DOOMSDAY wrecking Steel, and taking off, leaving a tattered flag wrapped around his hammer. And, then continued into OUTSIDERS #37, where DOOMSDAY impaled the Eradicator, and after JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #55's killer set-up for this week's fourth chapter, we cannot wait to see the throwdown betwen CYBORG SUPERMAN and DOOMSDAY.

Now, with Supergirl and Batman trapped aboard the Justice League satellite with Cyborg Superman and Doomsday, all hell is set to break loose. Both villains are set to tear the two heroes apart as their unavoidable showdown nears.

A who's who of DCU heroes will be showing up to aid in the battle, but there's something different about Doomsday -- something even the JLA might not be prepared for.

Missed earlier chapters of this crossover? We've got 'em all in stock to catch you up.

GREEN WAKE #1 DEBUTS THIS WEDNESDAY FROM IMAGE COMICS, DELIVERING A RIVETING TALE OF LOSS AND HORROR SURROUNDING A SERIES OF GRISLY MUTILATIONS!

A MUST-READ FOR FANS OF COMICS LIKE "ECHOES" and films like "SE7EN"

FEATURING COWBOY NINJA VIKING & PROOF artist RILEY ROSSMO

greenwake1

We're giving IMAGE a lot of love this week, but they've got some REALLY promising looking new series hitting the stands, so why not?

GREEN WAKE is a new limited series featuring the artwork of the very talented RILEY ROSSMO who's wowed us on series like COWBOY NINJA VIKING and PROOF, so that's already a huge plus, but the actual story here sounds pretty damn neat.

The story centers around the forgotten town of Green Wake, where a string of grisly mutilations have led Morley Mack on the trail of a young woman named Ariel, who is the prime suspect.

But when a stranger with startling connections to Ariel arrives under mysterious circumstances, Morley unravels a dark plot with a shocking link to his past.

A creepy piece of modern horror that reminds us of the series ECHOES, and films like SE7EN, this one looks pretty kick-ass.

FABLES VOL.15 ROSE RED TRADE PAPERBACK - THE NEXT INSTALLMENT OF ONE OF OUR FAVORITE LONG-RUNNING VERTIGO SERIES ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY

fablesvol15

One of our favorite series here at Third Eye is FABLES, and every time we see a new slab of it collected into trade paperback, we get stoked. Why? 'Cause it's just one of those series that reads so darn good in trade paperback that we often find ourselves waiting until the trade to sit down and read this one.

For those of you who're already eagerly awaiting picking up this one on Wednesday, you already know the awesomeness that is FABLES.

But for those of you who haven't gotten into this one before, we feel like we should give you a bit of the scoop on it. FABLES is a series that in the same vein as "fractured-fairy-tales" like WICKED, shows us a real world, slightly darker view of all the fairy-tale characters many of us grew up reading about.

When a savage creature known only as the Adversary conquered the Homelands of the Fables, all of the infamous inhabitants of folklore were forced into exile. Disguised as normal citizens of modern-day New York, these magical characters created their own secret society within a gated community at a luxury apartment building on Manhattan's Upper West Side. And, while there's many awesome subplots that keep things interesting, it's the over-arching saga of the FABLES and their determination to re-take their homelands that adds a whole level of epic storytelling to this series.

The way that Willingham brings the characters to life is also a big boon to the series, showing us a world where Prince Charming is a manipulative selfish jerk, the Big Bad Wolf cleaned up his act and now serves as the head of security, and Snow White has come into her own as the Mayor of this society.

If you're looking for a comic series that's just plain good, you really should give FABLES a go, as it's one of the best on the racks.

You can click here to download and read a free PDF of FABLES issue #1, and see if you dig it, and if you do, then snag a copy of the FABLES: LEGENDS IN EXILE trade paperback this Wednesday at Third Eye!

A DOUBLE-DOSE OF JOHN LAYMAN THIS WEDNESDAY WITH CHEW #18, and then the very special AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #38 written by CHEW creator and writer JOHN LAYMAN

Not reading CHEW? Hop on with the first trade for only $10 and get the scoop on this great series that's on it's way to being a SHOWTIME TV Series

chew18

We're not just getting one book by Third Eye favorite JOHN LAYMAN this Wednesday, but TWO books!

First off, we're getting something that's always welcome: a brand new issue of CHEW, as the FLAMBE story arc continues.

Now, many of you have heard the buzz surrounding CHEW and how it's on it's way to being picked up by SHOWTIME as a TV series, right? So, you're probably saying to yourself: I need to finally get around to reading this one!

Well, here's the scoop: For those of you who may not know, CHEW is the story of Tony Chu, a detective in a world where poultry is illegal due to avian bird flu, and under serious prohibition. Tony's cibopathic, and that means that he gets a psychic impression from whatever he eats. He eats a burger, he sees the cow getting killed, he eats veggies, he sees the pesticides being sprayed.

And, Tony, somehow along the way, he gets hired on by the FDA (who's like the ATF in this world) to eat the remains of murder victims and other strange things to help solve crimes.

It's an incredible series, and one of our favorites, and you really need to check it out if you haven't. The first trade is only $10, and has the first 6 issues, and is a damn good read!

amazingspidermanannual38

Next up this week from Mr. Layman is the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #38 which kicks off a three-part ANNUAL event "IDENTITY WARS" that will continue in DEADPOOL and HULK's annuals in May and June.

Layman brings his unique knack for quirky yet well-done storytelling to Spidey, and we think it's a perfect fit. In this issue, Peter Parker thinks his life couldn't get any better--until an explosion at Horizon Labs plummets him (along with Deadpool and the Hulk) into another dimension where the Amazing Spider-man is the world's most powerful and beloved hero, and Peter Parker is a billionaire mogul playboy. But, what's the price of perfection? And, what does this same dimension hold for the Merc With a Mouth and the Rampaging Hulk?

Click here for a preview of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #38

SOLOMON KANE RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY IN SOLOMON KANE: RED SHADOWS #1

solomonkaneredshadows1

We're big suckers for all the ROBERT E. HOWARD stuff, and SOLOMON KANE is one of our favorite characters by the man who created CONAN.

The crazed, monster-hunting, gun-toting Pilgrim is a pulp fiction favorite, and with this new series being penned by old school horror comics scribe BRUCE JONES, we're really stoked to see what's in store for SOLOMON KANE.

AVENGERS CHILDRENS CRUSADE #5 - ONE OF THE MOST EPIC AVENGERS STORYLINES IN AGES CONTINUES AS ALLAN HEINBERG and JIM CHEUNG DELIVER ANOTHER AMAZING ISSUE OF CHILDREN'S CRUSADE!

avengerschildrenscrusade5

Man, it may only come out every other month, but each issue of AVENGER'S CHILDRENS CRUSADE has been one heck of a good read.

Not only do we get more YOUNG AVENGERS awesomeness from the original creative team behind the series, but we also get a major Marvel storyline that follows up on the mystery of the SCARLET WITCH and what her place is in the Marvel Universe post-HOUSE OF M.

But, most importantly, we're getting a really good, really well-illustrated story that's bringing ALL of the Marvel U's biggest players into the mix.

And, this Wednesday, Latveria becomes a battle-ground as Magneto battles Doctor Doom, the Young Avengers take on the Avengers, and more all to determine the ultimate fate of the SCARLET WITCH.

Of course, things go awry when the mysterious reappearance of the time-traveling Iron Lad unleashes Wanda's reality-altering powers upon the timestream itself, changing the Marvel Universe forever.

Missed #1-4? We've got 'em in stock and available to catch you up!

THIRD EYE STAFF PICKS
Steve - BUTCHER BAKER RIGHTEOUS MAKER #1 - This is the next THE BOYS, folks. A totally over-the-top, ridiculous, and hilarious take on the superhero genre. Imagine if THE COMEDIAN from WATCHMEN had his own series.

Trish - HALCYON #4- Got caught up on all 4 issues this week of this great WATCHMEN-esque take on the superhero genre and I think I've found a new favorite series!

TORMA - KICK-ASS 2 #2 - It may take forever to come out but every issue of KICK ASS is always worth it, and seeing the origins of the Justice League type characters in this one were awesome.
