WHAT'S NEW @ THIRD EYE FOR WEDNESDAY 5/11/2011

FLASHPOINT #1 - DC COMICS DELIVERS THEIR BIGGEST STORYLINE SINCE BLACKEST NIGHT!A MUST-READ & OUR PICK OF THE WEEK!

Imagine A DC UNIVERSE WHERE BATMAN'S PARENTS NEVER DIED, SUPERMAN'S SHUTTLE NEVER CRASHED, AND ABIN SUR NEVER PASSED HIS RING TO HAL JORDAN... AND IT'S HAPPENING IN THE IN-CONTINUITY DCU!

flashpoint1

Between FLASHPOINT and FEAR ITSELF, we are really on track for one of the best summers in comics I've seen in my ten years of working in comics retail. I haven't seen this much excitement for both the DC UNIVERSE and MARVEL UNIVERSE since the year of INFINITE CRISIS and CIVIL WAR.

And, I have to tell you, Third Eye Faithful, I am every bit as stoked about FLASHPOINT as I am FEAR ITSELF. I mean, who doesn't love a good "Lets completely turn everything you know on it's head" storyline?

Lets start talking FLASH though, lets talk about why this is a big deal, and why we're so excited for it. First off, it's being written by one of the most talented guys working for DC Comics... GEOFF JOHNS. This is the man responsible for BRIGHTEST DAY, BLACKEST NIGHT, WAR OF THE GREEN LANTERNS, FLASH REBIRTH, and countless other amazing DCU titles. He is truly the main man at DC, and ALWAYS delivers.

He's been doing a very similar thing with Barry Allen as the Flash that he did with Hal Jordan. His FLASH run has been one of DC's sleeper hits of the last year, and just like his early issues of GREEN LANTERN, he's been quietly building up to what is going to be the biggest DCU storyline of the year. And, this Wednesday, it sets off, in a BIG, BIG way.

What is FLASHPOINT? Flashpoint is a storyline which puts the scarlet speedster in the spotlight, and shows us that the Flash is every bit as deserving of the DC Icon limelight as characters like WONDER WOMAN, BATMAN and SUPERMAN. The Flash literally wakes up in Flashpoint in a totally different world than he (and we) know. Friends are foes, foes are friends, and he's racing to find the one person who can help solve the mystery of what's happened: Batman.

So, what happened? Well, our speculation is that this all has something to do with the Reverse Flash, and his tinkering with the timeline through the Speedforce. Basically, something has happened in the past, and it's changed the face of the current DCU that we all know so well.

In the world of Flashpoint, Bruce Wayne's parents never died, and he runs a successful chain of Casinos. In the world of Flashpoint, Superman's shuttle never landed on Earth. In the world of Flashpoint, Abin Sur never passed his ring to Hal Jordan to become GL. In the world of Flashpoint, Aquaman is a dictator who controls half of Europe.

And, this is just the tip of the iceberg, my friends. Flashpoint is the DCU turned on it's head, and YES, this is in-continuity, and NO this is not just an Elseworlds, this is the real deal.

Now, you've got questions, I'm sure, as to how this is possible, how it ties into the current DCU, and so forth... all I can say is that when you get to the last page of FLASHPOINT, some of those will be answered, and some of those will not.

What I can tell you for sure is this is one of the most kick-ass reads I've seen come down the pike since the very first debut issue of BLACKEST NIGHT.

What's also very cool about FLASHPOINT is that this is a fresh storyline, which is PERFECT to jump into for anyone who may be new to the DC UNIVERSE. All you need is a very minor knowledge of who Batman, The Flash, and so forth are, and you're good. This is the kind of storyline, much like BLACKEST NIGHT, where you can just pick up at the beginning of the story, and go to town. And trust us, Third Eye Faithful, you will love this one.

Geoff Johns is a very talented writer who puts a sharp focus on what makes the Flash work, streamlines him down, removes his excess baggage, and gives you the core of the character. And, with FLASHPOINT, he's giving you the biggest Flash story that's ever been told, heck, probably one of the biggest DCU stories that's ever been told.

The real question is: how will this affect the DCU going forward? With a shift in reality like this, and Barry Allen and possibly Batman being the only ones who know what's up... how can they fix this?

We're stoked.

Wanna jump on? Pick up FLASHPOINT #1, and get started this Wednesday, or you can backtrack and grab the three prologue issues from the last couple of months FLASH #9, #10 and #11, and then grab FLASHPOINT #1 this week.

And, of course, you know we'll be stocking the series strongly, and have plenty of the tie-in issues in stock for you guys to snag.

THE ROAD TO FLASHPOINT ENDS THIS WEDNESDAY IN FLASH #12, AND LEADS DIRECTLY INTO FLASHPOINT #1

flash12
Also hitting this week is the final FLASHPOINT Prologue with FLASH #12, which leads directly into FLASHPOINT #1. Also written by GEOFF JOHNS, even if you're passing on some of the tie-ins to FLASHPOINT, we do recommend reading THE FLASH tie-ins, as they're by Johns, and are DIRECT tie-ins to the book. In 9,10, and 11, we've learned the secret of Hot Pursuit, the Flashpoint version of Barry Allen, and now we can only imagine what's going to go down in this final issue of THE FLASH, with FLASH #12 this Wednesday!

BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY #1 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY - THE LIMITED SERIES by PAUL DINI (BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES) BRIDGES THE GAP BETWEEN THE FIRST ARKHAM ASYLUM GAME AND THE UPCOMING ARKHAM ASYLUM 2 GAME!

arkhamcity1x

It's no secret that we're HUGE fans of the ARKHAM ASYLUM video game here at Third Eye, and so that means there's no need for us to tell you about how stoked we are about the upcoming sequel to it, ARKHAM CITY.

Now, what's even cooler, is that Paul Dini, co-creator of the now legendary BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, and writer of so many good Bat-books it's not even funny, is going to be writing a 5-issue limited series which bridges the storyline between the original ARKHAM ASYLUM video game, and the upcoming ARKHAM CITY video game. You wanna know what goes down after ARKHAM ASYLUM that leads into the entirety of Gotham City turning into a madhouse? This is the book you want to read. And, me personally? With Dini on board, and the fact that it's canon for one of my favorite video games, I'm totally stoked about this one.

Plus, the artwork on this one looks freakin' amazing, and who doesn't love a good old-fashioned Batman vs. the Joker story? Loads of Rogues, loads of awesomeness, and loads of Harley Quinn. How can you go wrong?

This one's a must-read for any self-respecting Bat-fan, and we highly recommend snagging yourself a copy this Wednesday.

FF #3 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING SUPERSTAR WRITER JONATHAN HICKMAN'S INCREDIBLE NEW "FUTURE FOUNDATION" SERIES, WHICH BRINGS A BRAND NEW ERA FOR THE FANTASTIC FOUR! AMAZING STUFF! MISSED 1 & 2? WE'VE GOT COPIES IN STOCK TO CATCH YOU UP!

ff3If you're not reading Jonathan Hickman and Steve Epting's incredible run on FF, then you are seriously missing out on one of the BEST Marvel Comics on the stands. Seriously, I was never a huge Fantastic Four fan growing up, but, this run is one of those rare moments of comic genius that sits nicely alongside the Stan and Jack and John Byrne runs on FANTASTIC FOUR. Hickman has brought new life to these characters and their world, and I cannot get enough. And, judging by how popular the book is here at Third Eye, neither can you guys!

And, that's why we're stoked to tell you that issue #3 hits this Wednesday, and this one looks to be the best one yet! This week, we learn what has become of the surviving members of The Council, loosed upon our world by Valeria! And, we continue to see just where Victor Von Doom fits into the grand scheme of things.

WHY YOU NEED TO READ FF: Folks, I gotta tell you, no one does bigger-than-life sci-fi-charged superhero storytelling better than Jonathan Hickman. He reminds me a lot of Warren Ellis circa the early 2000s, in the way that he brings bold, new ideas to the table, and does it in a very compelling, layered, yet fast-paced kind of way.

In fact, the way he writes the FUTURE FOUNDATION, really demonstrates how the FANTASTIC FOUR were originally a team of explorers, of thinkers, of adventurers, and innovators. This is not a super-team, but instead a group dedicated to the progression of modern man, by any means necessary.... and it's a fascinating take on the superhero team dynamic that we're all so familiar with.

Look, I could go on and on about how great the book is, and I haven't even begun talking about Steve Epting's gorgeous artwork... but, all I can say is it's one of my personal favorites, and if you're a fan of just plain good comics, you need to pick this one up. It's amazing. Snag issues 1 and 2, and get caught up to this week's #3.

MEET THE NEXT IMAGE HIT SERIES: MORIARTY #1 - A SERIES WHERE MORIARTY, SHERLOCK HOLMES'S OLD ARCH-NEMESIS IS ABLE TO RUN RAMPANT IN A WORLD WITHOUT THE GREAT DETECTIVE!

moriarty1

Here it is, Third Eye Faithful, we're calling it with this one: This is going to be the next big Image title that takes the comic industry by storm. It looks just plain awesome, and while it's received a fair amount of buzz, it's another unconventional, and different book that is sure to be under-ordered by many... but, not by Third Eye. :) We've been on board with this one since we first saw the advance previews, and now it looks like it's going to blow up just like recent hits like BLUE ESTATE, GREEN WAKE, NONPLAYER, and MORNING GLORIES.

What's the scoop on Moriarty and why are we stoked? This is the story of a world where Sherlock Holmes has been dead for 20 years, and at the dawn of World War I, Holmes' mortal enemy -- Professor James Moriarty -- is a lost man. MI15 blackmails Moriarty into finding Holmes' long-lost brother, Mycroft, but what at first appears to be a routine case leads to a web of intrigue that involves a psychic box and its creator, a woman from Moriarty's past, and a new villain that threatens to be greater than Moriarty ever was.

This one, judging from the preview pages I have read, reads like a very steampunky science fiction-noir that stars the classic and nefarious professor Moriarty as it's (anti)-hero. It's compelling, interesting, and the best part: a fresh take on the often tired Sherlock Holmes genre.

Check it out this Wednesday, and get a load of the next slice of comic awesomeness that IMAGE is serving up!

CROSSED: PSYCHOPATH #2 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY - THE SICKEST, MOST BRUTAL INSTALLMENT OF THE CROSSED SERIES YET IS GOING DOWN IN DAVID LAPHAM'S CROSSED: PSYCHOPATH! A MUST-READ FOR HORROR COMICS FANS!

crossedpsychopath2

We are MAJOR fans of CROSSED here at Third Eye. MAJOR. We can't get enough of Garth Ennis's ultra-violent, totally shocking world of survival horror, and we have to say, Mr. Lapham has done a tremendous job of picking up the ball, and running with it. In fact, his latest installment, CROSSED: PSYCHOPATH, out-CROSSEDs CROSSED. It's by far, the most intense, over-the-top, and in-your-face example of horror comics we've seen in quite a while... and that's why we love it! :)

Seriously though, there's more to the world of CROSSED than just cheap shocks and thrills. It's actually a very cleverly-written horror comic that manages to mix suspense, and revulsion into one compelling package.

What is CROSSED? It all began with the original 10-issue CROSSED trade paperback, which showed us the most shocking thing that Garth Ennis, the writer of PREACHER and THE BOYS, had ever created. And, then, from there, we were given FAMILY VALUES, which was Lapham's first venture into the world of CROSSED, and the ante was upped. Now, with Psychopath, it's about time you give the book a try and find out why we're constantaly talking it up.

So, here's the scoop... imagine a survival horror where a disease breaks out that infects normal everyday people with a desire to commit acts of pure evil. They're mindless, impervious to pain, they can still be killed, but they end up just laughing at any assaults on them. They are the CROSSED. Their entire being after being infected is to spread pain. And, what makes them more frightening than the more traditional mindless zombies? The CROSSED still have their wits about them. They KNOW what they're doing, and why they're doing it, and how to do it better. In other words, they can plan all sorts of horrible ways to bring the pain... and that's what makes them so terrifying.

Each series of CROSSED (the original, FAMILY VALUES, and PSYCHOPATH) are stand-alone stories that can be read in any sequence. However, if you want to start at the very beginning and work your way up, we've got the CROSSED trade paperback which collects issues 0-9, as well as CROSSED FAMILY VALUES #1-7, and CROSSED PSYCHOPATH #1 to catch you up to this week's PSYCHOPATH #2. However, if you just wanted to jump on with PSYCHOPATH #1, you can, as it's a fresh new story.

What is CROSSED PSYCHOPATH about? Psychopath is about a wretched man named Harold Lorre, who has duped a group of fellow survivors into helping him. They've fallen for his lies, his charades, and his deceipts. Yet the mission he leads them on seems almost sweet. This is a story about how a Non-CROSSED can be just as horrible as THE CROSSED themselves.

FEAR ITSELF: YOUTH IN REVOLT #1 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY FEATURING AVENGERS INITIATIVE VETERANS THOR GIRL, ULTRAGIRL, FIRESTARY, GRAVITY, AND MANY MORE! A LOOK AT WHERE THE NEXT GENERATION OF MARVEL HEROES STAND DURING FEAR ITSELF!

fearitselfyouthinrevolt1FEAR ITSELF: YOUTH IN REVOLT #1 hits this Wednesday, and just like many of the other recent FEAR ITSELF tie-ins, this one looks to be totally awesome. I gotta really hand it to Marvel, they're putting out some really fresh spins on the event formula with FEAR ITSELF, and providing a very cool mix of different perspectives, and angles on the major storyline.

This one spotlights the next genertaion of Marvel heroes, including some of the fan-favorites from the late, great Avengers: The Initiative series. Thor Girl, Firestar, Gravity, Ultragirl, as well as a few surprise guests all star in this limited series that shows us a world gripped by fear, and the young heroes that remain as the Initiative who've been tasked as federal agents to keep everything together.

JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #623 *FEAR ITSELF TIE-IN* - FEAR ITSELF CONTINUES TO CAST IT'S SHADOW ON ASGARD IN JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY!

journeyintomystery623The FEAR ITSELF tie-ins have been top notch so far, and we've been totally digging them. This week, we're getting treated to another kick-ass FEAR ITSELF tie-in, with JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #623.

Thor retitled itself to JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY with issue #622, and began a brand new direction for the series under a new creative team composed of the very talented Kieron Gillen, and Doug Braithwaite. Now, in this very fantasy-oriented Thor title with a heavy focus on Asgard, and characters like Loki, Heimdall, and the Brothers Three, we get to see the next chapters of FEAR ITSELF.

Loki, the great betrayer, the great destroyer has returned! But in all the nine realms there is no one who trusts him. Sadly, when he's the first to discover the dread secret behind FEAR ITSELF and issues forth a call to arms, no one will come to his aid.

You could almost call this one LOKI, instead of THOR, as JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY seems to be paying a lot more focus to the Asgardian anti-hero... and we think that's pretty damn cool. Kieron Gillen is a perfect fit to write the character, in his new youthful reincarnation, and so far, we're hooked on the run.

Missed issue #622? We've got copies in stock to get you caught up!

BATMAN INCORPORATED #6 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING GRANT MORRISON'S GROUND-BREAKING NEW BATMAN ONGOING SERIES!

batmaninc6

You know we're really big fans of GRANT MORRISON here at Third Eye, right? So, it's no surprise that we're totally hooked on his globe-trotting BATMAN INC title which shows us Bruce Wayne traveling across the world and recruiting a Batman for each different region. Seriously, we're loving it, and the series continues to get better and better. If you were hooked on the quirky post-modern weirdness he worked on the Dark Knight in BATMAN AND ROBIN, then you will love BATMAN INC.

And, now, with this week's issue #6, we're being introduced to another of the new Batmen. Man-of-Bats, a self-styled hero and community leader who protects his Sioux reservation from crime and disease. His son can't seem to keep his father's overzealous enthusiasm in check, and he dreams of escaping his father's shadow to become a big time hero.

But what happens when this homemade Dynamic Duo become targets of a sophisticated, well-connected killer from the shadows? Can the arrival of Batman save them before it's too late? And if so, which one of them will be chosen as the newest Batman.

Seriously, you gotta try BATMAN INC, great art, great story, a great book all around. We've got all issues (1-5) in stock now to catch you up to this week's issue #6.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #660 *FF TIE-IN* - THE SINISTER SIX VERSUS SPIDER-MAN AND THE FF.. AND BY THE FF, WE MEAN THE ENTIRE FUTURE FOUNDATION!

The ROAD TO SPIDER-ISLAND begins HERE!

asm660We are totally stoked about how good AMAZING SPIDER-MAN has gotten ever since Dan Slott came on board with ASM #648 *BIG TIME CHAPTER ONE*. Right from the jump, Slott kicked things off in a big way, and has all but made us forget about BRAND NEW DAY/ONE MORE DAY. In other words, he's doing a fine job of making Spidey into one of the best books on the stands. And, how's he doing it? Solid storytelling, A-Level artists, and consistency.

Looking for a good place to jump onto Spidey? We'd recommend either going with ASM #648, which is the first chapter of BIG TIME, or starting with issue #657, which is the first of the SPIDEY and the FF tie-in that's been going on recently.

In this issue, we're Slott pitts the Sinister Six up against the entire Future Foundation, and Spidey, and it's one heck of a throwdown. Just from reading the advance of this one, we can tell that this is more of the brisk, fast-paced, and just plain FUN storytelling that Slott brings to Spidey. Seriously, this one is climbing the ranks as one of my favorite Marvel titles, and judging by how pumped many of you are when a new issue comes out, it's doing the same for you guys as well.

If it's been a long time since you've given AMAZING SPIDER-MAN a shot, hop on board with either #648 (in stock now at Third Eye) or #657 (in stock now at Third Eye), and find out how good the book has gotten.

Also, this is one of many preludes to the upcoming SPIDER-ISLAND event which looks to be the biggest Spidey story arc in a very long time.

30 DAYS OF NIGHT AGAIN #1 - 30 DAYS OF NIGHT RETURNS FEATURING THE ART OF LEGENDARY ARTIST SAM KIETH (creator of THE MAXX)

30daysofnightagain1

I remember the first year I started working at a comic shop was the year that 30 DAYS OF NIGHT came out of nowhere and put an unknown publisher named IDW on the map. The book captured me, just like many others, and really sparked a renewed interest in the horror genre, and to be completely honest: we probably wouldn't have as many great horror comics as we do now if it wasn't for the success of the original 30 DAYS OF NIGHT by STEVE NILES and BEN TEMPLESMITH.

Now, starting this Wednesday, the world of 30 DAYS OF NIGHT returns, and holy moly, what a pair of creators on it... first, the legendary horror novelist JOE R. LANSDALE (writer of BUBBA HO TEP, amongst many others), and legendary comic artist SAM KIETH (creator of THE MAXX).

The story? Well, after fleeing the site of a secondary vampire infestation in the cold, wilds of Alaska, a band of survivors arrive at a climate change facility during the final days of a long period of extended daylight.

The inhabitants of the research compound are trying to determine the nature of a strange object found in the ice when the survivors arrive, lading to a frightening and bloody confrontation between humans andvampires and an odd and unexpected guest...... can we say 30 DAYS OF NIGHT... featuring aliens?

This one looks rad, and puts a brand new spin on the vampire/30 DAYS OF NIGHT formula. Plus, LANSDALE and SAM KIETH? How can you not pick this one up? Just flip through it and check out Kieth's incredible artwork this Wednesday!

THE COBRA CIVIL WAR KICKS INTO FULL SWING THIS WEDNESDAY IN GI JOE VOL.2 #1 *COBRA CIVIL WAR CHAPTER 2*

gijoecivilwar2

It's been a long time since we've been this stoked for a GI JOE comic, but after the teaser we got with last month's GI JOE COBRA CIVIL WAR #0 *COBRA CIVIL WAR CHAPTER 1* (in stock now at Third Eye), we're totally pumped to see where this arc goes next.

What's the story on this? Cobra Commander is DEAD. And, now, there's a void of power, and two warring factions within Cobra are competing to see who will assume the role of Cobra Commander.

And, a deadly competition within COBRA means trouble for the JOES as they become the snakes' primary targets. COBRA's new leader will be chosen through a trial by combat and the score is tallied in blood. The body count is rising, and the JOES don't even know the game has begun.

We loved the opening shots of this one, and we cannot wait to see where this one takes us next. Make sure you snag yourself a copy this Wednesday at Third Eye!

Missed the #0 issue? Don't worry, we've got plenty of copies in stock to catch you up!

THE LEGENDARY JIM STARLIN BRINGS BREED TO IMAGE COMICS WITH THIS WEDNESDAY'S BREED III #1 - THE COSMIC MAESTRO HIMSELF KNOCKING OUT SOME KILLER READS HERE!

BREED1There are some names that are all it takes to perk our ears up, and Jim Starlin is one of those names. This is the guy who pretty much defined Marvel icons like WARLOCK, THANOS, SILVER SURFER, and CAPTAIN MARVEL. In other words, he pretty much laid out the entire groundwork for all the cosmic Marvel U. stuff that we know and love.

And, now, he's returning to some of his creator-owned work with this Wednesday's BREED #1, a fresh jumping on point for a character he created back in the day.

The story of BREED is that of a man named Ray Stoner, who after being attacked by some of his fellow 'Breed, realizes he can no longer hide from what he is: a monster. He returns to the mystical city of Elsewhere and discovers much has changed. The struggle he is unwillingly part of has become extremely more dangerous and the stakes are way higher.

What is BREED? Breed is the story of Ray Stoner, the offspring of a woman who was assaulted by demons, and after escaping being dragged by the demons to their realm, was born here on Earth and raised by a general. There's a very HELLBOY-esque feel to the character. He became aware of his demonic heritage and aware that there's a lot of half-breeds like him runninga round doing what they call the father's work.

Now, in this new series, which provides a fresh jumping on point for the BREED saga, we're leading up to BREED confronting his demonic father. Imagine a book that took HELLBOY and X-MEN and mashed 'em together, and that would sum up BREED quite well.

IRREDEEMABLE VOLUME 6 TRADE PAPERBACK - THE NEXT SLAB OF MARK WAID'S INCREDIBLE "SUPERMAN GONE BAD" SAGA HAS ARRIVED! A MUST-READ!

IRREDEEMABLEVOL6

We are such big fans of MARK WAID'S IRREDEEMABLE it's not even funny. It seriously is one of the best freakin' things we're reading, and we cannot get enough of the world he is building. IRREDEEMABLE and it's companion series, INCORRUPTIBLE, are really doing what many independent publishers fail to do: build a compelling, and fully-fleshed out superhero world that's not just riffing on a pre-existing model. Oh sure, there's arch-types, and inspiration, but this is some true blue inspiration from Waid here, and we looooove it!

What is IRREDEEMABLE? IRREDEEMABLE is the story of the Plutonian, a Superman-like character, who one day, after years of major and minor abuse and insults, snaps under the weight of his responsibility and begins slaughtering the people of Earth. He starts with many of his fellow heroes, taking out the Batman-esque character first and foremost, then working his way through the rest.

From there, we're taken on one of the most compelling, and fascinating looks at the superhero genre we've seen in quite some time. Seriously, this book practically crackles with raw comic book energy, and it never disappoints us.. EVER. Just when you feel like you're being pulled into a sense of stability, and almost a mundane feel... BAM.. Waid throws you the kind of curveball that you're accustomed to in series like INVINCIBLE or WALKING DEAD.

I seriously cannot recommend this one enough, Third Eye Faithful, and if your curiousity is piqued, we'd recommend snagging a copy of IRREDEEMABLE VOLUME 1 this week at Third Eye and giving the series a try. You will NOT be disappointed!

For those of you who're already hooked, we'll see you this week when you snag the latest and greatest in the Plutonian's saga!

HELLBOY BEING HUMAN ONE-SHOT - MIKE MIGNOLA AND THE LEGENDARY RICHARD CORBEN TEAM UP FOR A KICK-ASS HELLBOY AND ROGER STORY!

hellboybeinghuman

We can't let a brand new HELLBOY one-shot slip by us, so here we are singing the praises of MIKE MIGNOLA once again, but hey, lets mix it up a bit... lets talk about how great Richard Corben is! One of our long-time favorites from way back in the HEAVY METAL days, RICHARD CORBEN has a unique style that really brings horror comics to life, especially the kind of pulp madness that Mignola cooks up in HELLBOY, and that's why we're stoked to see him on this week's HELLBOY: BEING HUMAN one-shot.

This one-shot features a horrible witch and her zombie servant who have decided to host a dinner party for a family of corpses, and well, Hellboy and Roger turn up to blast htem all back to hell in this team-up story from Roger's early days with the BPRD.

As always, it's HELLBOY, and it's a blast, what more do ya need to know? :)

The SEARCH FOR NATE GREY BEGINS HERE!

newmutants25We are huge fans of the highly under-rated writing duo of ABNETT and LANNING. These guys pretty much made the cosmic Marvel Universe super cool again, and for that, they deserve muchos props. Now, they're coming aboard as the new creative team on NEW MUTANTS, following the aftermath of AGE OF X, and this new arc looks pretty damn intriguing.

Whatever happened to X-MAN? You know, Nate Grey? He popped back up for a moment as an interesting component to Norman Osborn's DARK X-MEN team, but then he disappeared. Now, Cyclops needs to know, and he's enlist the NEW MUTANTS to locate and capture Nate Grey -- by any means necessary. Having killed Cohaagen and given Mars an atmosphere, Douglas Quaid (the man who was Hauser) simply wants to live happliy-ever-after with the woman of his dreams, Melina. How can Quaid have his happily-ever-after with Mars in chaos, new enemies coming to the red planet, and a mysterious stranger walking about? Well, see, that's what we're gonna find out in this new TOTAL RECALL series!

THIRD EYE STAFF PICKS

Steve - MOON KNIGHT #1 - Bendis and Maleev delivered my all-time favorite DAREDEVIL run half a decade ago, and I gotta say: their first issue of MOON KNIGHT is the best thing I've read from either creator since DD.. IT'S THAT GOOD! Seriously, the coolest take on the character yet.

Trish - GREEN WAKE #2 - I love Riley Rossmo's art. I know, I have a lot of IMAGE books as my picks, but they just keep putting out more and more good stuff. This creepy murder ballad is a new fave!

TORMA - FEAR ITSELF #2 - The Hulk gets a Hammer? How can I NOT make this my pick of the week! Seriously though, FEAR ITSELF is the best Marvel event I've read since CIVIL WAR.

Tony (Prince Frederick) Jennifer Blood #3 - If it's Garth Ennis, I'm usually sold. This is one of the most hardboiled books on the stands, and is definitely a homerun for Mr. Ennis!
