THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE FOR WEDNESDAY 6/8/2011

THE IRON AGE ALPHA #1 BRINGS THE RETURN OF THE DARK PHOENIX AS TONY STARK MUST GO ON A JOURNEY THROUGH TIME AND SPACE TO SAVE THE MARVEL UNIVERSE

ironagealpha1

If you've been a Marvel Comics fan for more than the last couple of years, than you're probably already well-versed in the saga of Jean Grey and the Phoenix Force. And, no doubt, if you're anything like myself, you've been stoked to see the little tidbits hinting at a possible return for the character. Whether it's been the events of the MESSIAH COMPLEX TRILOGY, or the references dropped throughout various X-Titles, we all knew that Phoenix would once again rise from the ashes, and this Wednesday, she does in IRON AGE ALPHA #1.

IRON AGE ALPHA kicks off a big Marvel limited series which is done in a very similar style as AVENGERS FOREVER from nearly a decade ago. Basically, like AVENGERS FOREVER, it's a story that literally takes us through several different generations of the MARVEL UNIVERSE, and featuers characters that span the different time periods of the Marvel U.

What causes all of this? As the Earth is destroyed in the not-too-distant future, Iron Man is swept into the time-stream where the only chance of survival is to gather the greatest heroes from across the eras and change the course of history. Plucked directly from classic eras of the Marvel U, ranging from the Silver Age '60s and '70s to the '80s, '90s, and then of course, the 21st century.

The storyline looks to be an EPIC read, and with the very talented Rebekah Issacs providing art, it looks FANTASTIC.

PLUS... it's the return of the DARK PHOENIX, and who doesn't want to read that? :)

FLASHPOINT STRIKES THIRD EYE THIS WEDNESDAY WITH FOUR MORE INSIGNIA BADGE GIVEAWAYS, FOUR MORE KILLER FLASHPOINT TIE-INS, AND ANOTHER ISSUE OF BOOSTER GOLD!

flashpointpromo

We're totally hooked on FLASHPOINT, and after how much we enjoyed all four of the tie-ins that dropped last week, we're pretty freakin' stoked to see the arrival of the next round this week, in addition to the next BOOSTER GOLD tie-in to FLASHPOINT.

And, just like last week, we'll be giving out free insignia badge pins that relate to each one of the tie-ins with purchase.

But before we start talking about these next FLASHPOINT minis to drop, lets go over the next issue of BOOSTER GOLD, which happens to be BOOSTER #45. Barry Allen isn't the only one who knows that the FLASHPOINT world isn't right, so does time-traveling screw-up BOOSTER GOLD. The question is: what can he do to get it back? And, how does he make his own FLASHPOINT reality make sense to him?

The first one of these was a great read, and provided us what we're dying for: more insight to the background of the FLASHPOINT world. Missed BOOSTER GOLD #44? We've got copies in stock to catch you up!

flashpointemperoraquaman1

The first of the FLASHPOINT tie-ins that we're stoked about this week is the FLASHPOINT: EMPEROR AQUAMAN, which looks AWESOME. Out of all the characters to get the FLASHPOINT treatment, we're most intrigued by two: AQUAMAN and BATMAN. Aquaman's hinted at place in the FLASHPOINT DCU as a crazed dictator who's out to conquer the oceans of the world, and sank Paris, is freakin' awesome.

FLASH FACT? He will drown the world, and then rule it.

And of course, this one comes with one of those snazzy FLASHPOINT insignia badges with purchase.

flashpointcitizencold1

The next FLASHPOINT tie-in we're pumped to talk about is FLASHPOINT: CITIZEN COLD, which puts the spotlight on one of my personal favorite DCU characters. Geoff Johns brought so much life and interesting character development to Captain Cold in the regular DCU, that we cannot wait to see the twist that is brought to the character in the world of FLASHPOINT. The details seem sketchy, but from what we've seen in FLASHPOINT #1, and from what we can tell from the cover of FLASHPOINT CITIZEN COLD, he's definitely a good guy in this world, which is really fitting, considering Cold was always a victim of circumstances, and not your traditional super-villain with a twisted motive.

And, but of course, this one comes with a snazzy FLASHPOINT insignia badge when you purchase it.

flashpointdeathstroke1

And, then, coming up, is FLASHPOINT: DEATHSTROKE THE CURSE OF THE RAVAGER #1. From what we saw in FLASHPOINT #2, DEATHSTROKE is some kind of pirate captain in the world of FLASHPOINT, and counts familiar DCU faces like CLAYFACE as members of his crew. And, in the world of FLASHPOINT, DEATHSTROKE has one quest: to find his lost treasure.. the question that intrigues us though, is WHAT is that lost treasure? And, what turn of events turned the DCU's most deadly assassin into it's deadliest scourge of the seas?

FLASHPOINT DEATHSTROKE CURSE OF THE RAVAGER #1 also comes with a free FLASHPOINT insignia badge when you purchase a copy!

flashpointfrankenstein1

Finally, rounding out this week's FLASHPOINT tie-ins, we've got one that I've been really excited for since it's launch, and that's the FLASHPOINT FRANKENSTEIN: CREATURES OF THE UNKNOWN #1, which features the very talented JEFF LEMIRE (SWEET TOOTH, SUPERBOY, ESSEX COUNTY).

I'm excited about this one for more than one reason. First of all, I love most of what JEFF LEMIRE has already done, especially his current VERTIGO series, SWEET TOOTH, which really delivers my post-apocalyptic wasteland fix with Y THE LAST MAN being long finished.

Secondly, I was a HUGE fan of Grant Morrison's SEVEN SOLDIERS, as well as the old Silver Age WEIRD WAR TALES, so I'm pretty pumped to see Frankenstein's team being composed of characters from both titles. This one looks to be a quirky, interesting read, and we're very eager to see where these characters fit in with FLASHPOINT.

And, of course, FLASHPOINT FRANKENSTEIN: CREATURES OF THE UNKNOWN #1 most definitely comes with a free FLASHPOINT insignia badge.

MORIARTY #2 - IMAGE COMICS' BRAND NEW SERIES FEATURING A WORLD WHERE SHERLOCK HOLMES HAS BEEN DEAD FOR 20 YEARS, AND HIS ARCH-NEMESIS IS CIVILIZATION'S ONLY HOPE IS AWESOME!

MISSED #1? SNAG A COPY THIS WEEK AND CATCH UP!

moriarty2

Man, I know we give IMAGE a lot of love on here, but, seriously, it's much deserved. I can already count at least 3 or 4 IMAGE titles hitting this week that I'm excited about, and among them, MORIARTY ranks pretty high.

Set in a world where Sherlock Holmes has been long deceased, and Moriarty, his deadliest foe has lost the drive that he once had as master of the underworld, and now works under the name of Trumbold as an investigator for the criminal element, as he bills himself. The reason for this change of heart is that without Sherlock Holmes, he is without purpose, and now has less to strive for without a worthy adversary.

Enter the English Secret Service, who quickly find out Moriarty's identity, and recruit him to find Mycroft Holmes, who has now gone missing.

This is a fantastic read, which delves into genres of mystery and steampunk, and really puts a fresh, new spin on the whole SHERLOCK HOLMES kind of story.

I highly recommend snagging a copy of #1, if you haven't already, and trying this one out.

AVATAR PRESS, PUBLISHERS OF "CROSSED" and "NEONOMICON", CONTINUE THEIR MOST HORRIFYING NEW SERIES YET WITH CALIGULA #2 THIS WEDNESDAY

caligula2

AVATAR PRESS has really built a name for themselves as THE publisher to push the boundaries of horror comics, and always deliver something fresh, and interesting in the process. The thing that really makes most of the AVATAR books like the CROSSED series and NEONOMICON so good is that they don't sacrifice solid storytelling for shock value. Instead, they give you both! :) Seriously though, it's almost amazing how well writers like GARTH ENNIS and DAVID LAPHAM are able to straddle the line of too much shock/not enough story, and too much story/not enough shock. And, this is why they are the masters of horror comics right now.

Anyways, Avatar's latest series is CALIGULA, which set in an age of depravity, one man's appetites horrified the entire Roman Empire. The very Empire he ruled.

This series is about quite possibly one of the most depraved individuals in history, and CROSSED PSYCHOPATH, CROSSED 3D and CROSSED FAMILY VALUES writer DAVID LAPHAM, brings his own twist to it in that grand AVATAR tradition. The twist? Basically, it's a demonic possession story, which is supposed to literally bring us the story of CALIGULA as a demon brought to Earth.

The first issue was a great read, and we're stoked to see where this one goes next!

Missed issue #1? We've got copies in stock to catch you up!

IN THE GRAND TRADITION OF RE-IMAGININGS LIKE "5 RONIN", MARVEL GOES PULP, AND SHOWS US THE ORIGINAL MYSTERY MEN OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE IN THIS PULP NOIR SUPERHERO MASH-UP THAT LOOKS AMAZING!

mysterymen1

Here's one that really caught my eye this week, and after how much we enjoyed their most recent re-imagining with 5 RONIN (available now in hardcover here at Third Eye), I'm pretty stoked about this one.

Before Captain America, before the Twelve, there was the Aviatrix, the Operative, Achilles, the revenant and the Surgeon. What drives these masked mystery men to disguise their identity and take to the rooftops of Manhattan? What dark conspiracy not only brings them together, but threatens to tear America apart?

A pure, powerhouse of pulp fiction awesomeness set in the past of the Marvel Universe, and giving slight re-imaginings of the early days of the '40s and '50s of the Marvel U, MYSTERY MEN looks to be a blast, and we cannot wait to read through the full first issue of this one on Wednesday.

Click here for a preview of MYSTERYMEN #1

THE ROAD FROM THE CONCLUSION OF THE FIRST ARKHAM ASYLUM VIDEO GAME TO THE UPCOMING ARKHAM CITY SEQUEL CONTINUES THIS WEDNESADY IN THE OFFICIAL STORY THAT BRIDGES THE TWO, ARKHAM CITY #2

Missed #1? We've got copies in stock to catch you up!

arkhamcity2

We're big fans of the first ARKHAM ASYLUM video game, and you know that means we cannot wait for the next one. But, in the meantime, BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES co-creator, PAUL DINI, is keeping us entertained with this official in-continuity (of the games) limited series that bridges the first ARKHAM ASYLUM video game and the upcoming sequel.

This little mini-series kicks ass on two levels: first, it's in the same continuity as the ARKHAM ASYLUM games, which is a blast ,and it's kind of fun to get to read a BATMAN story where Bruce is Bruce, the Joker's going crazy, and a bunch of Rogues are getting their asses kicked in the middle of it all. So, you're getting a plain cool BATMAN story.

The second level of awesomeness is how this one is laid out nicely as the bridge in between the first and second ARKHAM ASYLUM video games. It used to be rare that video game comics really delivered, but with books like this one, and the recent MASS EFFECT comics, we're really seeing some innovative stuff in terms of supplementing the stories of the games.

The first issue jumped right into the action, and sets up for the creation of ARKHAM CITY. The construction of ARKHAM CITY seems to be the driving force here, as the first issue lays out what led from the events of ARKHAM ASYLUM's sequel to the development of the ARKHAM CITY open-air prison, from there, the awesomeness has only begun.

ARKHAM ASYLUM fan? Joker fan? Snag this one, folks, you won't be disappointed! And if you missed #1, don't worry, we've got copies in stock to get you hooked up!

BLUE ESTATE #3 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY DELIVERING FRESH AND RAW QUENTIN TARANTINO-ESQUE POST MODERN CRIME NOIR STORYTELLING!

MISSED #1 AND #2? SNAG YOURSELF COPIES OF BOTH AND GET CAUGHT UP!

blueestate3

The first issue of BLUE ESTATE introduced us to a rich, complex and darkly humorous Hollywood noir world of shady deals, and fading movie stars. And, the second issue did a great job of not only carrying forward threads from the first, but also introducing and spending most of the time with an entirely set of new characters that are all connected to Z-List starlet Rachel Maddox.

This is a great book, folks, I'm telling you, the writer and artists behind this one is one clever sonofagun, and he's telling the kind of crime story that reminds you strongly of that big boom of ELMORE LEONARD popularity from the late '90s. You know, flicks that had style like JACKIE BROWN, and GET SHORTY, based off of Leonard's books. It's that kind of playful dialogue, and amoral crooks, that populate Blue Estate, and we LOVE IT.

And, we can't overlook the art, like many new IMAGE series, they've got a very talented approach to the art on this one, with a team of various artists who lend their pencils to different scenes and parts of the story.

The plot revolves around a fading movie star who ends up on the wrong side of the Russian mob, and the slob of a detective that gets hired on to find him. But, that's just the tip of the iceberg, there's a lot more going on here than just that, and it's what makes BLUE ESTATE so compelling.

Missed issue #1? We've got copies in stock to catch you up, along with issue #2.

AMERICAN VAMPIRE: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST #1 OF 5 - SCOTT SNYDER PAIRS UP WITH RISING STAR ARTIST, SEAN MURPHY (JOE THE BARBARIAN, HELBLAZER CITY OF DEMONS), TO TELL A STORY OF VAMPIRE HUNTERS IN NAZI GERMANY, AND SKINNER SWEET'S INVOLVEMENT!

americanvampiresurvival1

We're HUGE fans of the Vertigo series AMERICAN VAMPIRE, and heck, we even consider it to be our favorite Vertigo series running right now. It's THAT good. Scott Snyder knocks it out of the park every month, and continues to shape and craft a fascinating world where each different region produces a different kind of vampire with different kinds of strengths and weaknesses. He's literally telling us the HISTORY OF VAMPIRES with this series, and we love it.

Kicking off this Wednesday, we get a double-dose of AMERICAN VAMPIRE, as Snyder is joined by rising star SEAN MURPHY (the incredibly talented artist who did JOE THE BARBARIAN with GRANT MORRISON) to tell the tale of vampire hunters FELICIA BOOK and CASH MCCOGAN (who you might remember from earlier issues of AMERICAN VAMPIRE) going behind enemy lines in Nazi-occupied Romania during WW 2, as they search for a rumored vampire cure. Of course, their twisted and haunted past with Skinner Sweet makes the mission much more difficult than they had originally thought.

Totally stoked for this, I love AMERICAN VAMPIRE, and I cannot wait to see Snyder and Murphy work together on this one.

This is also a very solid place for those of you not reading AMERICAN VAMPIRE to give the series a try, as it's a nice, self-contained, stand-alone story.

Click here for a preview of AMERICAN VAMPIRE SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST #1

FEAR ITSELF: FEAR ITSELF DEADPOOL #1brings FEAR to the MERC WITH A MOUTH!FEAR ITSELF SPIDER-MAN #2 continues,JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #623, and FEAR ITSELF: THE FEARSOME FOUR

fearitselfdeadpool1

It's a big week for FEAR ITSELF this Wednesday, and after the startling events of last week's FEAR ITSELF #3, we're really pumped to see what happens next.

The first FEAR ITSELF tie-in we're pumped to see this week is FEAR ITSELF DEADPOOL #1, which shows the Merc with a Mouth doing what he does best: finding a way to capitalize. The question we wanna know has DEADPOOL really been chosen as one of the worthy, and granted one of the Serpent's Hammers? Or did he just take any old hammer, and go to town with some bedazzle.

Yup, DEADPOOL's got a mallet of his own, and you know what that means: Hammer Time. :)

Click here for a preview of FEAR ITSELF DEADPOOL #1

And, then following hot on the heels of the DEADPOOL tie-in, we've got the second issue of the FEAR ITSELF SPIDER-MAN, which we REALLY dug the first issue of (a great creative team of Yost and McKone definitely helped too!). New York City is under the Serpent's influence, and Spider-man's fending off the mobs all by his lonesome.. and then, comes a villain we haven't seen in YEARS... Vermin? Heck yes!

Click here for a preview of FEAR ITSELF SPIDER-MAN #1

Missed FEAR ITSELF SPIDER-MAN #1? Don't worry, we've got copies in stock to catch you up.

FEAR ITSELF: FEARSOME FOURSOME is probably a guilty pleasure for me, but I'm still stoked. With the entire Marvel Universe enveloped in fear, Man-Thing has been driven insane on panic-wracked Manhattan, and now, will the whole city burn at his touch?

And, that's where the Fearsome Foursome comes into play... a team composed of HOWARD THE DUCK, SHE-HULK, FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER, and NIGHTHAWK... yes, Howard the Duck. :)

SWEET TOOTH VOLUME 3 ANIMAL ARMIES TRADE PAPERBACK - JEFF LEMIRE'S SWEET TOOTH IS ONE OF THE BEST VERTIGO BOOKS ON THE STANDS, AND IF YOU'RE A FAN OF SERIES LIKE Y: THE LAST MAN or WALKING DEAD, YOU NEED TO READ THIS!

Imagine "HELLBOY" meets "THE ROAD"

sweettoothvol3

We're HUGE HUGE HUGE fans of Jeff Lemire's VERTIGO series SWEET TOOTH, and the fascinating post-apocalyptic landscape it's laying out with each and every installment. And, knowing that many of you who're big Vertigo guys and girls tend to follow stuff in the trades, we figured we'd give you the heads up that SWEET TOOTH volume 3 hits this Wednesday!

SWEET TOOTH is the brilliant, sometimes heart-warming, and sometimes stomach turning story about a world that's been decimated by a pandemic which is only described to us the readers as a "bright flash", and ever since, children have been born as "hybrids", mutants with animal traits. One of these hybrids, Gus, a young boy who's father dies from the plague, ends up wandering out, almost getting killed by crazed hunters, and taken in by Jeppard. Jeppard is a crazed drifter who is obsessed with finding these hybrid kids and getting them to a fabled "Preserve", which is a sanctuary for them.

The appeal of SWEET TOOTH is in the art as much as it is the story, as Jeff Lemire manages to tell a tale using just the right amount of dialogue, not too much, not too little, and conveys much of the story via some damn fine storytelling in the art, and the expressions of the character's faces. Lemire's stylized approach to the art also helps weave a very convincing post-apocalyptic landscape that just once every so often can show varying glimpses of beauty.

If you're not yet reading SWEET TOOTH, c'mon by, and snag a copy of volume 1 for just $10, and find out why this is one of our faves.

If you are, then I'm sure you're already making room in your weekly comic budget for the latest volume of the series that hits this Wednesday with SWEET TOOTH VOL.3

GREEN WAKE #3 - IMAGE'S NEW MURDER THRILLER BLENDS ELEMENTS OF ALAN MOORE'S "SWAMP THING" and ENVIRONMENTALISM WITH A STRONG DOSE OF "SE7EN" -INFLUENCED SERIAL KILLER SUSPENSE!

greenwake3

One of the strongest debuts of 2011, GREEN WAKE is the kind of book that really proves that IMAGE is putting out quality hit after hit. A big part of this is due in part to the amazing art of COWBOY NINJA VIKING and PROOF artist, RILEY ROSSMO, who's surreal, and somewhat dark style helps bring the story to life in a very vivid, and fascinating way.

The story is straight up a noir tale of a man investigating the strange new world around him while also trying to get to the truth at the heart of the human condition. He's trying to figure out what it means when you end up on the shores of Green Wake with blurry memories and only the clothes on your back.

The premise of GREEN WAKE as a town is executed very well through the words and images, and it shows a place where everyone is sad, and the funk of lost souls is oppressive.

And of course, there's a string of brutal serial murders that litter the landscape of this hollowed out town... and, from there, well, the mystery and surprise is half the fun, so we won't ruin it, all we can say is this: this comic kicks ass.

Missed issues 1 and 2? We've got both in stock to catch you up to this week's #3!

GHOST RIDER #0.1 - MARVEL'S ORIGINAL SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY WITH GHOST RIDER #0.1, KICKING OFF A BRAND NEW GHOST RIDER ONGOING SERIES!

ghostrider01

You know, for the longest time, we'd been off again, on again GHOST RIDER fans. Some runs would be great, and others not so much. Ghost Rider's kind of like the SILVER SURFER, in that he's one of those characters that would look badass painted on the side of like a crazy '70s cargo van, but you gotta really have a good hook to bring out the cool stories with him.

And, Third Eye Faithful, after seeing most of this upcoming GHOST RIDER #0.1 POINT ONE issue, I can say that writer ROB WILLIAMS totally gets it, 'cause this may be the best GHOST RIDER I've read, or at least on the level of the JASON AARON and early TEXIERA stuff.

What's the scoop? Johnny Blaze has finally found a way to defeat the demon within and undo his pact for power. But can he allow himself to give up the ghost, so to speak? This special POINT ONE issue sets up the brand new GHOST RIDER ongoing series, in much the same way as the recent ALPHA FLIGHT #0.1 set up the upcoming ALPHA FLIGHT ongoing.

Personally, I LOVED it, and I'm pumped to see more!

Click here for a preview of GHOST RIDER #0.1

PREPARE FOR THE GREEN LANTERN MOVIE WITH THESE OFFICIAL IN-CONTINUITY TO THE FILM GREEN LANTERN PREQUELS OF KILOWOG and TOMAR RE

glprequels

For the last couple of months, whenever the subject of the big comic book movies have come up around the shop, many of you have heard me say one thing: I think GREEN LANTERN has potential to be the biggest comic book movie in a very long time. Now, I could be terribly wrong, but I don't know.. I just have this gut feeling that this is going to be a HUGE movie, that satisfies both the hardcore fan like you and I, as well as the casual fan who's never read GL before in their lives.

So, needless to say.. I am totally jazzed about the movie, and all the stuff surrounding it, and this week, we're getting two prequel one-shots: GREEN LANTERN MOVIE PREQUEL KILOWOG and GREEN LANTERN MOVIE PREQUEL TOMAR RE. I'm personally very excited to see how these two tie into the movie, and more importantly, see how they're handling two of the coolest alien Lanterns in the GL mythos.

I mean, c'mon.. it's KILOWOG! How can you not be stoked? And, I've always had a soft spot for TOMAR RE as well.

All in all, these look to be much more than just movie adaptations or movie-related filler, they look to really deliver a satisfying look at the key characters involved with the upcoming GREEN LANTERN film.

Check out both GREEN LANTERN MOVIE PREQUEL TOMAR RE and GREEN LANTERN MOVIE PREQUEL KILOWOG this Wednesday!

SCREAMLAND #1 LAUNCHES A NEW ONGOING IMAGE SERIES, WHICH READS LIKE A MIX OF THE VERTIGO SERIES "FABLES" and the movie MONSTER SQUAD. Imagine if all the classic UNIVERSAL MONSTERS acted and behaved like real people!

screamland1

This is awesome. A brand new IMAGE series which shows us a world where movie monsters are real, and most of them are just looking for work in an industry dominated by more practical, more cost-effective 3D, CGI and other special effects.

Forced to hustle their past glory on the convention circuit, Wolfman Carl London and "Space Path" star Travis Walters put their scheduled appearances aside to stop the screening of a legendary monster film for "grown-up monsters" that could ruin the careers of feature creatures everywhere.

This one is a blast, and if you're a fan of stuff like FABLES, or even the humor of stuff like THE BOYS, we think you'd get a real kick out of this one.

THE CONTROVERSIAL, AND GROUND-BREAKING SUPREME POWER RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY WITH SUPREME POWER #1 - THE BEST THESE CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN SINCE THE ORIGINAL SUPREME POWER RUN by J MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI!

supremepower1

We were HUGE, and I mean HUGE fans of the original 18 issue run that J MICHAEL STRACZYNSKI and GARY FRANK did on SUPREME POWER. It was some of the most cutting edge, maturely themed superhero storytelling we'd since in a very long time.

However, it seemed like every incarnation of the Squadron Supreme that came after that initial run, just became more and more watered down, and lost what made them special.

Well, that all ends now, 'cause I've read the first issue of the new SUPREME POWER, and all I can say is this one lives up to the former glory of Straczynski's original run.

Or, in a nutshell: IT'S REALLY REALLY GOOD.

A new era begins for the deadliest super-heroes of all time. The man known as Hyperion has disappeared, hiding from the government and finally living his own life. Dr Spectrum has taken his place as America's greatest hero, and the U.S military's greatest asset.

Of course, when things go awry, and Spectrum becomes a deadly liability.. will Hyperion return?

Supreme Power is essentially a screwed-up, twisted version of the JUSTICE LEAGUE in the Marvel Universe. Hyperion is basically Superman, but instead of being raised by two farmers in Smallvile, he finds himself snagged by the government literally minutes after his shuttle lands, and then taken into a lab and raised to be a weapon for war. The Green Lantern? He's Doctor Spectrum, a war veteran who had a parasitic gem graft itself onto his hand, and develop a symbiotic relationship between the two. And, of course, you've got the twists on characters like Wonder Woman, who just so happens to be a death goddess who requires fresh blood to keep herself young.

The world of SUPREME POWER is an awesome one, and we are so pumped to see it getting the treatment it deserves in this brand new series.

Click here for a preview of SUPREME POWER #1

ZENESCOPE, PUBLISHERS OF GRIMM FAIRY TALES & WONDERLAND, LAUNCH A NEW SERIES ABOUT A DRUG THAT ENABLES THE USER TO FLY.. THIS ONE LOOKS AWESOME!

fly1cvrb

We've always dug the twisted horror tales, and dark takes on classic fairy-tale lore that ZENESCOPE has put out in the last few years, and this new series, FLY, looks to be another addition to the publisher's already impressive library.

What if there was a drug that gave you the power to fly? How far would you go to possess it and who would you hurt to get your next fix?

This is the story of Eddie Patron. Eddie was trying to live a normal life. A rundown broken life, but a normal one. The thing is though, Eddie's got a secret, and that secret's returned to haunt him... and through it, his life will never be the same again.

Another awesome looking horror tale from RETURN TO WONDERLAND writer and creator RAVEN GREGORY, this one looks killer.

MEGA MAN #2 continues the ARCHIE & CAPCOM team-up that's bringing us the best comic book interpretation of the 8-bit hero yet!

megaman2

ARCHIE has another video game hit on their hands with the brand new MEGA MAN series that is totally tickling the nostalgia nerves of many of you, Third Eye Faithful.

Seriously though, as long-time fans of this character and his insanely hard, near nerve-wracking adventures, it's pretty awesome to see the Capcom icon handled right. The story and the art line up perfectly with the CAPCOM lore of MEGA MAN, and we cannot wait to see more of his arch-enemies enter the picture.

Missed issue #1? We've got copies in stock to catch you up!

MORNING GLORIES #10 - One of our biggest IMAGE faves since the launch of CHEW and WALKING DEAD hits it's 10th issue this Wednesday

morningglories10

Image continues to impress us with their biggest hit since the debut of CHEW (another favorite of ours), with each and every issue of MORNING GLORIES. This compelling supernatural thriller focuses on a prestigious prep school which holds host to some VERY dark, and very dangerous elements, and the stars of the show, it's latest class, delve deeper and deeper into the dark heart of the MORNING GLORY ACADEMY.

The series conjures up a vibe very similar to the television series LOST, with a mix of BRIAN K. VAUGHAN's RUNAWAYS and a bit of the supernatural suspense of series like LOCKE & KEY. And, folks, it is freakin' great. If you're not already reading it, you need to be. Snag the first trade here at Third Eye for just $9.99, and find out why we're loving this series so much.

For those of you already hooked, well, just like WALKING DEAD, the less I say, the less I spoiler, the better, right? :)

KA-ZAR AND THE SAVAGE LAND RETURN THIS WEDNESDAY IN A NEW LIMITED SERIES WITH KA-ZAR #1

kazar1

You can't go wrong with Marvel when they deliver us a story that's set against the backdrop of the SAVAGE LAND, and that's exactly why we're stoked to see a brand new KA-ZAR series on shelves this Wednesday.

In this new limited series, the blight of the Burning Season has swept across the SAVAGE LAND, threatening to destroy everything that KA-ZAR holds dear, and heralding the re-emergence of the mysterious Ether Tribe.

Trapped between foces from within and outside the Savage Land, can he save his homeland before it's too late?

This one looks like a blast, and we're pumped to check it out.

Click here for a preview of KA-ZAR #1
