THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE COMICS FOR WEDNESDAY 4/4/12

AVENGERS VS X-MEN #1 ARRIVES THIS TUESDAY AT OUR SPECIAL “EARLY RELEASE” AVENGERS VS. X-MEN DECLARATION OF WAR PARTY!
Here it is, Third Eye Faithful! The highly anticipated first issue of AVENGERS VS X-MEN, and after the killer opener of last week’s AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #0 prologue issue, we are on the edge of our seats waiting to see what’s going to go down next.
You guys already saw me rant and rave last week about how excited we are at Third Eye for AVENGERS VS X-MEN, a monumental blockbuster of a storyline that’s going to shake the entire Marvel Universe to it’s core, so you can guess: this is the book that is all over my thoughts this week.
I mean, as comic fans, there’s some things that even at their most base, and most essential level are just plain cool. One of those things, is seeing two of the most iconic gatherings of characters in the history of comics, going into full-scale war against one another.
What’s the scoop on this one? We did a big piece on it last week in the Third Eye newsletter, and you can read that by clicking here. In a nutshell though: the Phoenix is returning, and it’s going to make the great savior of mutant kind, HOPE, it’s host.
And, Hope, knows it, and she’s ready to not just embrace the Phoenix Force, but, to start serving up the kind of justice that she feels the world needs. Cyclops, and his team, have already been moving in a progressively more militant direction, and as the Avengers get involved with the idea of preventing the arrival of the Phoenix.. all hell will break loose.
Now, lines have been drawn, teams have been set, and the entire Marvel Universe will be split into two camps: X-Man or Avenger… and, when the dust clears, things will never be the same again.
Folks: we, of course, loved issue #0, but we did get to read #1 already, and we can tell you right now: #0 is just a teaser compared to #1. There’s some HUGE stuff that goes down in the first issue, and every page of this one is a must-read.
Make sure you join us this Tuesday night for a very special early release party of AVENGERS VS X-MEN #1, where you can score special “team party” variants at cover price, as well as get first crack at some of the other exclusive variant covers on this red hot new series. We’ll also be hosting a very special sale on all AVENGERS & X-MEN-related graphic novels, as well as giving out a TON of FREE AVENGERS & X-MEN swag.
You can click here for more information on our AVX Declaration of War party.

DANGER CLUB #1 - All the world’s heroes… DEAD. All the world’s sidekicks? Left to their own devices.. some for better, some for worse.. this new IMAGE COMICS series is the freshest, most interesting take on superhero comics we’ve seen in a while! Check it out this Wednesday!
Meet DANGER CLUB creators LANDRY WALKER and ERIC JONES at THIRD EYE this JUNE!
This comic is so good that when I finished reading the advance previews of it, I literally dropped everything I was doing, got in touch with IMAGE, and said: I gotta get Landry and Eric to Third Eye for a signing.
That’s how excited I am about DANGER CLUB, folks, and with good reason: it’s one of the freshest, most interesting takes on the superhero genre I’ve seen in a hot minute, and I’m loving every second of where this one looks to be heading.
Pitch perfect writing, stellar artwork, this book is the total package, on the sheer craftsmanship and talent involved alone, but it’s the concept of this one that has us really intrigued.
What’s the scoop on DANGER CLUB? So, picture this: all of the world’s superheroes venture out into space to throw down in some big cosmic crisis, you know the kind that really encompasses all of the heroes in a universe… and, they don’t come back.
Now, an entire planet full of super-powered teenagers who were acting as sidekicks, and heroes-in-training to the Earth’s mightiest heroes are left to fend for themselves, without guidance, without supervision.
And, as you’d expect, things take a very dark turn. Some of these young heroes attempt to rise up, and fill the void their mentors have left, while others, lacking the guidance of their elders, end up taking a very dark path with their powers.
If you’re a fan of stuff like IRREDEEMABLE, THE CAPE, or RUNAWAYS and MORNING GLORIES, then you really should give this one a shot.
It’s a clever concept, with strong characters, and a great concept that keeps you hooked from the first to last page.
Plus, Eric Jones’s artwork looks GREAT, and brings a fresh pop, and sense of dynamic style to this new superhero universe.
A must-read, we stand 100% behind this one, folks, and if you don’t end up liking it, you can return it for another title.
On the buzz scale, this one is heating up fast, and while we’ve got plenty of copies coming in, we can tell you now that this is going to be another of those IMAGE titles that turns out to be a scarce, runaway hit.
Meet DANGER CLUB creators LANDRY WALKER and ERIC JONES at THIRD EYE COMICS in ANNAPOLIS on JUNE 30th.

DETECTIVE COMICS #8- One of the NEW 52′s top titles, DETECTIVE COMICS brings us a vicious NEW 52 spin on SCARECROW, and we’re loving it.
If you’re a fan of the darker BATMAN stories, or games like ARKHAM CITY / ARKHAM ASYLUM, DETECTIVE is a MUST-READ.
One of the biggest highlights of the NEW 52 for us here at Third Eye has been DETECTIVE COMICS, which brings a big, bold in-your-face BATMAN book to us each and every month. Very much in tune with darker BATMAN stories like HUSH, THE LONG HALLOWEEN, and ARKHAM ASYLUM, DETECTIVE COMICS tends to really cast the spotlight on familiar BATMAN rogues, and we love that.
Tony Daniel’s stellar artwork really makes the book pop, and brings a dark, dynamic edge to the series that compliments the storytelling perfectly.
The current arc gives us a very cool glimpse at how the SCARECROW is in the world of DC NEW 52, and we love it. Darker than ever, with a very sinister twist, it’s cool to see this under-used, but totally awesome villain get some spotlight.
Wanna jump on board? We’ve got issues 1-7 of DETECTIVE COMICS in stock now to catch you up to this week’s #6.

FANBOYS VS ZOMBIES #1 - Sam Humphries, writer of SACRIFICE and OUR LOVE IS REAL, delivers his latest and greatest with this hilarious new series about a zombie outbreak at COMIC-CON
ONLY $1.00!
Here’s another one we’re super stoked for at Third Eye, ’cause lets face it: stuff like this is just plain fun. I mean, we’re already big fans of Sam Humphries (who will actually be appearing at Third Eye on Saturday May 12th for the debut of his upcoming SCI-FI epic HIGHER EARTH), who wowed the heck out of us with his incredible indie hit SACRIFICE. But, toss in the kind of humor that I think many of us, as comic fans, totally love, and you’ve got yourself a winning combo.
The first issue of FANBOYS VS ZOMBIES is a blast. Jerry Gaylord’s artwork looks fantastic, and brings the book to life in a big way, with plenty of pop, and energy.
Humphries brings a strong dose of humor to the story, as he unfolds a tale of what could potentially be the worst place for a zombie outbreak: COMIC-CON.
A crew of feuding best friends find themselves trapped inside America’s largest comic convention, after it’s been transformed into a seething cauldron of zombies. The question though, is a horde of starving brain-eating zombies any match against reflexes battle-hardened by video games, nerves tested by horror flicks, and courage crystallized by comic books? That’s what we find out as an unlikely band of fans find themselves going head to head with the undead.
MEET FANBOYS VS. ZOMBIES Writer SAM HUMPHRIES (SACRIFICE, OUR LOVE IS REAL, THE ULTIMATES) at THIRD EYE in ANNAPOLIS on MAY 12th.

AGE OF APOCALYPSE #2 - THE KILLER NEW SERIES SPINNING OUT OF THE PAGES OF UNCANNY X-FORCE: THE DARK ANGEL SAGA CONTINUES, CASTING THE X-MEN VILLAINS WE KNOW AS THE HEROES IN A DARK FUTURE WHERE WOLVERINE *IS* APOCALYPSE.
We loved the first issue of this innovative new Marvel series, which takes more of what we loved from the smash hit of 2011, THE DARK ANGEL SAGA, and expand upon it. First off, let me start by saying that I may be a bit biased, as I grew up in the heyday of the original AGE OF APOCALYPSE, and loved every minute of that storyline, so to see a return to that universe, but with all the bells and whistles of modern comic storytelling… is pretty damn cool.
Anyways, the new AGE OF APOCALYPSE series picks up in the aftermath of UNCANNY X-FORCE: THE DARK ANGEL SAGA, and shows us a look at a dark, alternate Marvel universe where Professor X never formed the X-Men, Apocalypse took over the world, and humans are now the minority.
And, in a world where En Sabah Nur has been killed, who takes his place? His own Horsemen, DEATH, aka WOLVERINE: WEAPON X.
Yes, WOLVERINE: WEAPON X is one of the major villains in the series, and rules the entire planet as the successor to Apocalypse’s throne.
And, the X-Terminators? All of those anti-mutant nut jobs from the regular Marvel Universe? They’re a vigilante force.
It’s a very interesting, and very complex new series, and we’re pumped to see where this one goes next.
Wanna jump on board? We’ve got copies of issue #1 in stock still to get you caught up to this week’s #2.

HELL YEAH #2 – Join us SATURDAY 4/7 for our huge HELL YEAH #2 release party with creators JOE KEATINGE and ANDRE SZYMANOWICZ
A Must-Read for fans of STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE, THE BOYS, THE CAPE, and KICK-ASS.
One of our favorite new IMAGE books of 2012, and that’s saying something with heavyweights like MANHATTAN PROJECT, SAGA, and more hitting the shelves, but folks: HELL YEAH is the bomb. This book delivers pure non-stop, ultra-violent comic book carnage, and mayhem in a stylistic way that keeps you turning those pages lightning fast.
The concept is the kind of hook that’ll snag anyone who grew up reading comics in the ’90s, or fell in love with series like KICK-ASS and STRANGE TALENT OF LUTHER STRODE, and the artwork by Andre Szymanowicz is off-the-chain good.
Picture this: It’s 1992, and the super humans have arrived, in all their head-exploding glory. And, upon their arrival, the world will be forever changed. Also, in 1992, a generation of kids were born in the wake of these heroes arrival, and were the last generation to find themselves living in a normal world.. now, all they want is to break out of the shadows of the gods that walk among them, and they’ll do anything to make that happen.
Clever, and well put-together, HELL YEAH is a fresh, and fast-packed kind of story that really kicks you in the teeth right from the beginning of issue #1, and keeps on kicking, until you’re finished the book. It’s the kind of book that demonstrates everything we love about IMAGE COMICS, and folks: if you’re not reading it, you need to be.
Also, THIS SATURDAY, we’re having creators JOE KEATINGE and ANDRE SZYMANOWICZ into Third Eye Annapolis for a very special release party and signing of HELL YEAH #2.

Wanna jump on board? We’ve still got first printings available of HELL YEAH #1 to get you caught up in time for this Wednesday’s HELL YEAH #2.

FLEX MENTALLO: MAN OF MUSCLE MYSTERY HARDCOVER ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY COLLECTING GRANT MORRISON & FRANK QUITELY’S VERTIGO CLASSIC AT LAST! A MUST-READ!
FROM THE CREATORS OF “ALL-STAR SUPERMAN”, “WE3″ and “BATMAN AND ROBIN”
Flex Mentallo is one of those rare hidden gems that still hasn’t been read by many due to the long out-of-print nature of the original series. Now, after a very long wait, Vertigo is finally putting this classic from critically acclaimed creative team, GRANT MORRISON & FRANK QUITELY, back into print in a killer new deluxe hardcover.
Flex Mentallo was once a hero of the beach, the kind of Charles Atlas-style strongman who stood up for the weak, and fought all sorts of weird post-modern baddies alongside the Doom Patrol.
Now, Flex Mentallo, the Man of Muscle Mystery, returns to investigate the sinister dealings of his former comrade, The Fact, and a mysterious rock star whose connection to the Flex may hold the key to saving them both.
This is a fantastic, fast-paced story that twists superhero arch-types and standards into the kind of mind-boggling, and compelling storytelling that Grant Morrison is known for.
Toss in Frank Quitely’s INCREDIBLE artwork, and his style which compliments Morrison’s writing perfectly, and folks: you’ve got yourself one hell of a read.
Snag yourself a copy of the FLEX MENTALLO: MAN OF MUSCLE MYSTERY hardcover this Wednesday at Third Eye!

SUPREME #63 *CHAPTER 1* – ALAN MOORE’S DARK TWIST ON THE WORLD OF SUPERMAN ARCH-TYPE RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY FROM IMAGE COMICS WITH THE NEW SUPREME!
The world of SUPREME is one that we freakin’ loved growing up, and we’re so stoked to see a fresh, brand new take on this dark SUPERMAN arch-type that ALAN MOORE breathed a ton of life into back in the day, and is now bringing more life to with the new EXTREME STUDIOS revival going on at IMAGE (featuring titles like PROPHET, GLORY, and BLOODSTRIKE).
Just like the first chapters of PROPHET, GLORY, and BLOODSTRIKE, ignore the numbering on this one, and jump on board fresh with this issue, as these are all new stories and new directions.
This issue marks the triumphant return of Image Comics’s most powerful superhero. As Supreme romances Diana Dane, he takes her on a tour of the Citadel Supreme and tells all of his innermost secrets just as Supreme’s most hated nemesis, Darius Dax, makes a most unfortunate discovery: the key to defeat Supreme.
This is good stuff, folks. Very metatextual Alan Moore taking on the world of Superman, and really playing around in it in a big way, without having to worry about the confines and constraints of dealing with a company-owned character.
If you’ve ever wanted to see what it would be like if the Man of Steel existed in the real world, then SUPREME is the book to read. A must for fans of SUPERMAN: RED SON, ALL-STAR SUPERMAN, and IRREDEEMABLE, we can’t recommend this one enough.
Start with SUPREME #63 this Wednesday.

HULK #50 - A PERFECT JUMPING ON POINT FOR THE RED HULK SERIES! Find out why this has been one of Marvel’s biggest sleeper hits!
You know, I’ve really grown to like RED HULK since his introduction a few years ago. And, ever nice Jeff Parker came on board the series, the HULK ongoing, has had a very cool, under-the-radar kind of appeal that’s turned it into a solid sleeper hit here at Third Eye. While there may be a miss here or there, for the most part, Parker has taken one of our favorite Marvel anti-heroes, and used him to tell old school style Hulk stories that really kick ass.

And now, as RED HULK hits it’s landmark 50th issue, Marvel is delivering the PERFECT jumping on point for anyone who’s been curious about giving Parker’s run of the HULK a shot.

This new arc begins a killer story called HAUNTED HULK, which delivers the kind of weirdness and oddball spectacle that we’ve come to love out of Parker’s RED HULK run. Hulk fighting ghosts? HELL YES. How can you go wrong?
Featuring guest-stars such as DOCTOR STRANGE, RED SHE-HULK, DAREDEVIL and more, this is an action-packed issue that’s a blast to read.
Give HULK a shot, and jump on board with HULK #50 this Wednesday.

SWAMP THING #8 – SCOTT SNYDER, writer of BATMAN: COURT OF OWLS, THE BLACK MIRROR, and AMERICAN VAMPIRE, continues to impress the heck out of us!
Read This Book!
Scott Snyder is, quite possibly, our favorite writer working in comics today. The dude just manages to kick ass on pretty much anything and everything he does, and his current run on SWAMP THING has really been delivering the goods in a BIG way.

Outside of the highly influential ALAN MOORE run, there’s nothing that comes close to the kind of magic that Snyder is working. He’s managing to blend the intellectual horror and suspense of Moore’s work with the superhero-charged horror comic goodness of the Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson stuff in a way that really produces something truly unique, and compelling.

In this week’s issue #8, as we learn more and more of The Rot, we’re shown the terrifying true potential of the Swamp Thing.

The Green sought a warrior king, and now they have one… but will they regret unleashing a being this powerful? And can all that strength save Abigail Arcane from her destiny in the Rot’s clutches?

Another dynamite issue of SWAMP THING, Third Eye Faithful, do yourselves a favor and jump on board this one if you’re not already reading it.

Wanna hop on? We’ve got issues 1-7 in stock now to get you caught up to this week’s #8.

FATALE #4 – ED BRUBAKER & SEAN PHILLIPS, CREATORS OF “CRIMINAL” & “INCOGNITO” CONTINUE TO DELIVER THE GOODESS WITH THEIR HORROR-NOIR “FATALE”!
CTHULHU GANGSTERS? YES!
There are some comics that are just a plain and simple demonstration of GOOD comic books. Books like FATALE are a shining example of this. And, honestly, we’d expect nothing less, being huge fans of Brubaker and Phillips’s past work on stuff like CRIMINAL and INCOGNITO.
FATALE is a great blend of a good ol’ fashion crime noir, that bounces between the present day, and the 1950s, and the riveting horror of HP LOVECRAFT.
Ritual murders, gangsters from other dimensions, and femme fatales that don’t age are just a few of the oddities that really flesh out the weird, and wonderful world of FATALE.
Not only is the writing 100% on point, but the artwork by Phillips really helps capture the mood, tone, and feel of this weird, noir world where the supernatural is all too natural.
You know, it’s easy to make comparisons to stuff like LOVECRAFT and the like, but FATALE, if I had to compare it to something, it’d be like a bizarre David Cronenberg movie, or something written by William S. Burroughs.
Just a great, visceral crime story with all sorts of demons, and other weirdness that makes it even more awesome.
In short: FATALE is awesome! Read it!

WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #8 - The best X-Book we’ve read since the debut of UNCANNY X-FORCE, WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN continues to kick all kinds of ass.
Wolverine and the X-Men continues to impress the hell out of us with each and every issue, and yet again: we’re stoked about the newest issue of this incredible new MARVEL series that’s turned into one of their breakout hits of 2012.
There’s something unique, something fresh, and something that’s just so damn likable about the entire series that we find ourselves coming back again and again for more. Jason Aaron is at the top of his game, delivering the kind of X-Men book you want to read. It’s reminiscent of the X-Men in the late ’90s, with a ton of energy, a clever yet subtle sense of humor, and a ton of new characters that DON’T suck.
We love the dynamic of Wolverine acting as the new headmaster of Xavier’s school, and trying to keep the fundamentals of Xavier’s dream alive.
The inclusion of characters like KID GLADIATOR and BROO have made the book even more enjoyable, as we’re really shown the kind of storytelling that really makes it pop.
All in all: this is a Marvel title you need to be reading if you’re not already. We’ve been praising it nearly every month since it’s debut, and I don’t see that stopping any time soon.

VOLTRON: YEAR ONE #1 – THE ORIGINS OF VOLTRON, AND THE VOLTRON FORCE REVEALED IN THIS CUTTING EDGE NEW SERIES FROM THE SAME FOLKS WHO’RE BRINGING YOU THE CURRENT VOLTRON SERIES!
We’ve been super impressed with Dynamite’s new ongoing VOLTRON series that’s been coming out on the regular, and we’re totally stoked about this upcoming new prequel series that explores the origins of the Voltron Force.
Before they were known as the legendary Voltron force, they were Space Explorer Squadron #686 of the Galaxy Alliance — four young men, led by Commander Sven, and tasked with keeping the Earth safe and the skies clear in a universe growing more and more dangerous every day.
So it was no surprise that central command came to them first with an impossible rescue mission and an enemy even they didn’t truly understand.
One that threatens the fragile coalition of planets they’ve risked their lives to maintain.
Unbreakable bonds are formed and intense rivalries borne in the first chapter of the team that would be known as VOLTRON.

FAIREST #2 CONTINUES TO EXPLORE THE FEMME FATALES OF “FABLES” IN THIS NEW ONGOING SERIES THAT’S PERFECT FOR NEW READERS AND FANS OF TV SHOWS LIKE “ONCE UPON A TIME” or COMICS LIKE “GRIMM FAIRY TALES” & “FABLES”
We totally dug the first issue of the new FAIREST series from VERITGO, and it may be our favorite of the new line of VERTIGO titles that launched this Spring.
A must-read for fans of other modern twists on fairy-tale lore, like RETURN TO WONDERLAND, GRIMM’S FAIRY TALES, ONCE UPON A TIME, and of course, FABLES, FAIREST is a series that focuses on the origins, motivations, and secret histories of the powerful women that exist throughout the most memorable fairytales and folklore in history.
The first storyline which has focused on Sleeping Beauty being awakened again by true love’s kiss, casts a decidedly darker twist on the story of Sleeping Beauty, as the Snow Queen gets involved.
A killer read, with stellar artwork by PHIL JIMINEZ, FAIREST is a MUST-READ for anyone who’s looking for a good modern fantasy series.

DAREDEVIL #10.1 - A PERFECT JUMPING ON POINT FOR ONE OF THE BEST MARVEL BOOKS ON THE STANDS, SNAG DAREDEVIL #10.1 AND PREPARE FOR THE UPCOMING SPIDER-MAN / DAREDEVIL / PUNISHER TRIPLE THREAT: OMEGA EFFECT!
Daredevil has been one of the most interesting, and increasingly addictive Marvel books we’re following. The combination of the fresh direction Waid brings to the character, and the sense of overall snap and pop that his characterization of Matt Murdock has really makes the book stand out.
Throw in one of the best art teams I’ve seen in years, of Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin (and Koi Pham doesn’t look like a slouch either!), and you’ve got yourself one hell of a read.
This week’s DAREDEVIL #10.1 is a GREAT issue to jump on board with, and it sets the stage for the upcoming crossover between AVENGING SPIDER-MAN and THE PUNISHER with DAREDEVIL, the OMEGA EFFECT.

ACTION COMICS #8 – Grant Morrison’s INCREDIBLE re-invention of SUPERMAN continues as ACTION COMICS lays the groundwork of the NEW 52 alongside of JUSTICE LEAGUE.
ACTION COMICS has really turned itself into a fast favorite amongst the NEW 52, but we’ll admit: we knew it was gonna rule. And, you know why? ‘Cause very few people can write SUPERMAN as awesome as Grant Morrison.
His work on ALL-STAR SUPERMAN still remains some of my favorite SUPERMAN stuff, and the post-modern sense of awe and wonder that he brings to the Man of Steel is perfect. There’s this indescribable quality to Grant’s portrayal of icons like SUPERMAN… it’s just.. how you picture these characters to behave, and it’s so damn good.
This issue marks the epic conclusion to Morrison and Morales’s majestic opening storyline, as we see the Man of Steel going toe to tentacle with the all-new Brainiac.
Set in the past, ACTION COMICS does a terrific job of modernizing the origins and histories of SUEPRMAN, his supporting cast and his enemies in a way that’s keeping us hooked big-time.
Highly recommended, folks, if you’re not on board this one, give it a shot. Even if you’re not a SUPERMAN fan, we feel you’ll dig it.
We’ve got issues 1-7 in stock now to catch you up to this week’s #8.

AMERICAN BARBARIAN HC ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY DELIVERING CRAZY, POST-APOCALYPTIC JACK KIRBY-INSPIRED MADNESS AND MAYHEM!
This book is going to be AWESOME. A modern day tip-of-the-hat to Jack Kirby greats like KAMANDI and OMAC, AMERICAN BARBARIAN is the tale of a red-white-and-blue haired barbarian who roams the post-post-apocalyptic world, and throws down with all manners of mutants and other baddies.
We’re totally digging the stellar artwork on this one, and it’s a must-read for anyone who happens to be a fan of stuff like PRISON PIT, SUPERJAIL, or old school Kirby comics from the ’70s.

SUPURBIA #2 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, HAVEN’T SNAGGED #1? GIVE IT A SHOT THIS WEEK AT THIRD EYE, AND FIND OUT WHY THIS HIDDEN GEM MAY BE A SLEEPER HIT IN 2012!
This little gem slipped by a lot of folks last month in the midst of all the other big hitters like SAGA and MANHATTAN PROJECT, but, folks: make no mistake, SUPURBIA kicks ass!
This series is like the REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY.. but with super-powers. We know that may sound odd, but it really delivers a kick-ass read.
What goes down when the capes come off? Meet the Real Housewives of Earth’s greatest super-team, the Meta Legion! It’s the egos, the tantrums, and the betrayals of the super set. Find out what happens behind the masks as superhero families are faced with the sordid problems of everyday life — and then some.
A great blend of slice-of-life storytelling, and superhero action, SUPURBIA’s a must-read, Third Eye Faithful.

WHISPERS #2 – THIS CREEPY YET TOTALLY AWESOME NEW IMAGE SERIES FROM THE CO-CREATOR OF “THE SWORD”, “GIRLS”, and “ULTRA” CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY
We are huge fans of the past works of Joshua Luna, like THE SWORD and GIRLS, so we’re pretty damn stoked to see him on a new series.
Even though, we’ve only read the first issue, we gotta tell you: we’re totally hooked on WHISPERS. This incredible new IMAGE COMICS series delivers a bone-chilling, creepy new read with all the trademarks that Luna is known for. Strong characterization, incredible artwork, believable dialogue… WHISPERS has it all.
The story focuses on astral projection, and how one young man who’s suddenly found he has the ability to leave his body, and drift around like a ghost without anyone being the wiser uses this ability to get uber-creepy, and stalk his ex-girlfriend.
It sounds bizarre, but this is a killer read, and one of the raddest releases of IMAGE we’ve seen drop in 2012 so far.
Need issue #1? We’ve got copies in stock to catch you up in time for this week’s #2.

THE WAKING: DREAM’S END #1 – ZENESCOPE, THE PUBLISHERS OF “ALICE IN WONDERLAND”, “RETURN TO WONDERLAND”, and MORE RETURN WITH A CHILLING NEW ZOMBIE EPIC IN THE WAKING: DREAM’S END THIS WEDNESDAY!
Zenescope does a fantastic job with their horror comics, and their series THE WAKING brings a really killer twist to the zombie genre this Wednesday.
Years have passed since the events of THE WAKING took place. Murder has become practically extinct in a world armed with the knowledge that those who are murdered will return from the dead to take the lives of those guilty… But, within a new world comes a new kind of killer, and he must be stopped.
From the creator of the ALICE IN WONDERLAND, FLY, and RETURN TO WONDERLAND series, RAVEN GREGORY, comes a stellar new horror series that delivers the dark grindhousey horror comic goodness we’ve come to expect from ZENESCOPE.
