Dave Gibbons is THE perfect choice for this book, as the kind of cold war paranoia he brought to much of WATCHMEN, and especially the dark, gritty reality of THE COMEDIAN, is felt in a chilling way in the secret service.
Folks, I could rave and rave about how excited I am for this title, but all I can say is this: this will be one of your top five favorite comics by the time it hits issue #3. Trust me, you’re going to fall in love with the book as soon as you finish it.

BATMAN AND ROBIN #8 - ONE OF THE DC NEW 52′S MOST UNDER-RATED BAT-TITLES PROVES THIS WEEK WHY YOU HAVE TO BE READING TOMASI & GLEASON’S BATMAN AND ROBIN
One of the most under-rated, but totally awesome NEW 52 titles has been BATMAN AND ROBIN. This book doesn’t get anywhere near the hype as the others, but, hot damn, it’s good.
Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason are an incredible creative team, and Gleason’s art is quietly turning heads again and again, and turning him into a major super-star.
The whole dynamic of Bruce and his son Damian, and how it’s explored in this series is one of the biggest draws, and most compelling facets of BATMAN AND ROBIN. Personally, Damian has turned into a favorite here at Third Eye since the major character development we saw on him during Morrison’s initial run of BATMAN AND ROBIN.
And, now, we’re really digging how Tomasi has taken the ball, and ran with it. Seriously, if you dug the initial Morrison / Quitely BATMAN AND ROBIN stuff, then you need to be reading the NEW 52 BATMAN AND ROBIN.

See, Kaine can’t shake the ghosts of his past, and while he’s trying to clean the streets of Houston, TX, and try to do his part in a region of the country that’s not as heavily populated by superheroes, he still finds himself dishing out justice in a more lethal manner.

GRANT MORRISON’S EPIC BATMAN INCORPORATED ARRIVES IN HARDCOVER THIS WEDNESDAY, COLLECTED IN IT’S ENTIRETY, THE ENTIRE DC NEW 52 STAGE-SETTING BATMAN STORY IS HERE
Grant Morrison. Batman. These two things go together like peanut butter and jelly, folks. Seriously. Morrison knows how to write some mind-bending, pulse-pounding BATMAN stuff, I mean, c’mon, he’s the guy who gave us ARKHAM ASYLUM: A SERIOUS HOUSE.., and he’s the guy who gave us the epic BATMAN AND SON trilogy, which culminated in BATMAN RIP.

One of the best new IMAGE books of 2012, by far, has been PETER PANZERFAUST. Many of you guys got to meet the creators of this killer new series, KURTIS J. WIEBE and TYLER JENKINS, last month at Third Eye, and for some of you, it was your first exposure to the book.
We gotta say: we’re really excited to hear that you guys are loving this one as much as we are. This book is DAMN good, and everything about it, whether it’s Kurtis Wiebe’s killer storytelling, or Tyler Jenkin’s fantastic artwork, which conjures up memories of Dave Stevens’s ROCKETEER comics, has us hooked.
What’s the scoop on this one? It’s World War II, and Paris is falling to the Nazis. Out of nowhere, a mysterious young American named Peter shows up, and begins to rally his own little gang of orphans from the streets of Paris…. and, then begins to give the invading Nazis a fight they’ll remember.
A fantastic mix of the Peter Pan mythos, and gritty war comic storytelling, we love the twists on the characters, ranging from Captain Hook to Wendy, and we cannot wait to see where things are headed for the series next.

Now, you guys know pretty well, that we’re HUGE fans of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES here at Third Eye. As children of the ’80s and ’90s, we have a real soft spot for the heroes in a half shell, ya know?
And, you know, we’re totally loving IDW’s TMNT series that’s been bringing back Turtle revival in full force, we gotta tell you: we’re loving the fact that the classic Eastman / Laird MIRAGE stuff is being put back into print.
Uber violent, and totally subversive, the original Turtles comics were pretty underground, and have this very cool edge to them. I mean, every single page of art practically looks like it was ripped from the spray paint on a half-pipe in the ’80s.
This deluxe oversized hardcover continues what volume 1 started, and reprints the next giant chunk of TMNT goodness, as well as t he Michaelangelo, Leonardo, and Donatello micro-series oneshots that came out back in the day (the Raph one was is in the first volume).
A must-read, and a must-have for your Turtles collection. Do not sleep on this one, Third Eye Faithful.

THIEF OF THIEVES #3 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY CONTINUING THE ALL-STAR COLLABORATION OF “WALKING DEAD” writer ROBERT KIRKMAN and “MORNING GLORIES” writer NICK SPENCER

And, Thief of Thieves, is totally that. The story of a master thief who can take anything, except for his broken family, and the assorted oddballs that surround him, is so damn compelling that we’re already hooked after just two issues.
In this week’s issue #3, we see that Conrad’s son, Augustus, has done everything he can to live up to his father’s legacy. The simple fact is he just isn’t that good a thief. His bungling has left him exposed, but will Agent Cohen be able to trace Augustus back to his father, finally catching Conrad red-handed?

This book looks freakin’ awesome. The cover drew me in, and after giving it a read, I’m pretty stoked for it.

STAFF PICKS
STEVE: HELL YEAH #2 - I was going to take the easy route and call out AVX #1, but I gotta tell you: I loved the total insanity of HELL YEAH #2, and plus, our signing was so much fun, I’m even more jazzed on the book!
TRISH: - DANGER CLUB #1 - Another new IMAGE book that totally blows my mind? Their track record is astounding this year.
TORMA: HULK #50 - I know the Red Hulk had its ups and downs, but this is probably the best any of the Hulk comics have been in a while. I really really dig Parker’s writing.
SHAUN: DANGER CLUB #1 - This one comes out of the gate swinging! DANGER CLUB is a little YOUNG JUSTICE, a little TEEN TITANS, a touch of “superheroes gone wrong”, and yet it isn’t a slave to any of those things. It’s fresh, fun, exciting, and a must-read!
RYAN: AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #0 - YES! It’s finally here! Just as awesome as all the hype.
