This Week's Highlights at Third Eye Comics for Wednesday 11/14/12

ALL NEW X-MEN #1 LAUNCHES THIS WEDNESDAY, JOIN US FOR OUR SPECIAL ALL-NEW X-MEN #1 LAUNCH PARTY ON NEW COMIC DAY!
The original X-Men Return from the Past to the
Post-AVX Marvel U!
ALL-NEW X-MEN arrives this Wednesday, kicking off the next big flagship title of the MARVEL NOW, and we could not be more pumped. Why? 'Cause this looks to be the best freakin' X-Men title we've seen in a while.
Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen, bring a fresh new voice to the X-Titles, and we could not be more pumped. This looks phenomenal.
So, what's it about? In the aftermath of AVENGERS VS. X-MEN, everything has changed, everything is on it's head, and you gotta think: the MARVEL UNIVERSE is a pretty strange place to the characters of yesteryear, right?
In fact, the now-classic DAYS OF FUTURE PAST storyline took place in the year 2013... and, in ALL NEW X-MEN, we're shown the original team of X-Men arriving from the past. Cyclops. Iceman. The Beast. Jean Grey. Angel. All still teenagers, all still unprepared for what awaits them in the here and now.
When they arrive, behaving like they just stepped off the set of MAD MEN, the future is a very scary place.
How do they get from the past to the present? What's the motivation of it, and who brings them here? That's the surprise we want to save for you guys.
This is the new flagship X-Title, Third Eye Faithful, and features many of the present-day characters you know and love like THE BEAST, STORM, and many others.
The Death of Professor X alone... not to mention who killed him, is a bombshell that may rock the teenage X-Men.
And, what place will these younger versions of the iconic characters we know and love play in context of the mainstream Marvel characters of the here and now?
There's a lot of good twists in this issue, so we won't go into too much detail, but we can say this: issue #1 of this was the best X-Book we've read since WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #1 (which is our current fave), and we highly, highly recommend picking this one up.
In addition, it's a great jumping on point for any of you who've been dying for a great spot to get on board with the X-Men series.

DEATH OF THE FAMILY CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY IN BATMAN #14, BATGIRL #14 & SUICIDE SQUAD #14
It's pretty much accepted fact at this point that the SCOTT SNYDER & GREG CAPULLO run of BATMAN is going to go down in history as one of THE best runs on the character... ever. And, you know what? We agree with that, 100%.
So, to say we're more than just a little excited about Snyder and Capullo tackling the most iconic Batman villain of all time: the Joker, is an understatement.
It all began with a bang last month in the pages of BATMAN #13, and from there, we've been on the edge of our seats just waiting to see where things picked up after that infamous last page featuring the Joker, with his dead skin mask strapped on, swinging a hammer at Alfred Pennyworth.
Now, in this week's BATMAN #14: we're going to see, and folks, I don't think this one even requires a write-up: you know it's the best damn superhero book out there, I know it's the best damn superhero book out there, you guys are gonna be beating down the door for this one. :)
Seriously though, if you are one of the few who have yet to get into the current ongoing BATMAN title, I cannot recommend it enough. Wanna go back to the very beginning? We've got back issues in stock back to issue #1, or you can snag the graphic novel COURT OF OWLS collecting 1-7, and catch up in singles from there.
For those of you who're looking to get on board with the Joker story, you need to snag BATMAN #13, and you'll be good to go going forward from there. We've got ALL chapters of BATMAN: DEATH OF THE FAMILY in stock now (BATMAN #13, CATWOMAN #13, BATGIRL #13, and we will have plenty of BATMAN #14, BATGIRL #14 and SUICIDE SQUAD #14 this Wednesday).

GREAT PACIFIC #1 ARRIVES FROM IMAGE COMICS NEXT WEDNESDAY, AND IT IS AMAZING! A MUST FOR FANS OF Y: THE LAST MAN & THE MASSIVE!
Don't miss out on the next big IMAGE hit!
Get Your's & Get it signed by writer JOE HARRIS at THIRD EYE on 12/8!
Folks, I gotta tell you: I am so jazzed on this new series from IMAGE, it's ridiculous. This is the reason I love IMAGE Comics. This. Right here. These are the kind of high quality creator-owned books that defy genre, and defy classification that make me LOVE what Image does.
The GREAT PACIFIC popped up in my inbox a few months ago, with a note from some friends at Image about how awesome this series was going to be. I trust those folks, so I gave it a peek, and I was floored.
The artwork is GORGEOUS. We're talking NONPLAYER-level of gorgeous here, Third Eye Faithful, and the story is fresh, compelling and engrossing. I tore through the first issue uber-fast, and was pretty frustrated I'd have to wait months before I could physically hold the book in my hands!
Well, now, here we are, and the GREAT PACIFIC is about to make some major waves in the world of comics. This red hot new IMAGE title sold out at the distributor level a few weeks ago, but fear not: we'll have plenty of copies in stock to hook you up, Third Eye Faithful.
What's this little masterpiece in the making all about? Imagine if you took the eco-themed storytelling of THE MASSIVE and combined it with the epic, post-apocalyptic melancholy of Y: THE LAST MAN, and that sums up THE GREAT PACIFIC very nicely.
Chas Worthington dreams of big things, solving bigger problems, and making his mark on the world. Only no one takes the twenty-one year old heir to one of the biggest oil fortunes in history very seriously. That is, until he turns his back on his cushy life of wealth and prestige, and seeks to solve an environmental disaster twice the size of his native Texas known as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
An epic tale of sci-fi adventure and survival begins, and folks, you can trust us: this is a Third Eye Guaranteed Good book. You're gonna love it.
Get the GREAT PACIFIC #1 Phantom Variant While Supplies Last This Wednesday!
As many of you may have noticed in recent weeks, there's been a new kind of variant hitting Third Eye, the PHANTOM VARIANT. These are special, very limited edition covers that are distributed to less than 25 stores worldwide. In other words: they're not easy to get a hold of.
As one of the stores selected to offer Phantom variants, we'll have copies of this week's PHANTOM VARIANT for THE GREAT PACIFIC available, but in strictly limited quantities. Make sure to snag your's fast, as these are guaranteed to sell out like the BEDLAM & DEADPOOL Phantom variants.
Meet GREAT PACIFIC Writer JOE HARRIS at Third Eye on Saturday 12/8 for the Release Party of GREAT PACIFIC #2.
Also, as part of our Third Eye NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER chain of events, we'll be hosting writer JOE HARRIS for a very special signing of THE GREAT PACIFIC, and a release party of THE GREAT PACIFIC #2!
Make sure to snag your copies of THE GREAT PACIFIC this week at Third Eye, so you can get 'em signed by Joe on 12/8.

LOCKE & KEY OMEGA #1 -- The final chapter in the LOCKE & KEY Saga begins tomorrow, as we near the conclusion of one the best horror comics of the 21st Century.
Folks, you know how it feels to see something great coming to an end? The last season of THE WIRE? The final season of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA? Return of the Jedi? Well, that's how we feel about the conclusion to LOCKE & KEY, but at the same time, the series is so freakin' good -- it's bittersweet.
LOCKE & KEY Omega is the final installment of Joe Hill's incredible mythology-thick, world-building ghost story LOCKE & KEY.
In 2007, the Locke family's story began with WELCOME TO LOVECRAFT, and after five years of tension and terror, there are only seven issues left to their story. The beginning of the end starts here. Dodge has the Omega key, and nothing can stop him from using it.
We don't want to ruin any surprises, so we'll stop there. Instead, lets tell you why you need to snag the first volume of LOCKE & KEY, and get into this series, if you haven't already.
Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them... and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all..
It all starts with a family in distress, finding themselves moving to the Keyhouse, and it continues with a demonic presence that resides in the bowels of the home.
From there, we're taken on a journey that rivals Neil Gaiman's SANDMAN in the way it builds the world around, and the way it weaves myth and reality into one amazing story.
This is THE best ghost story you'll read, in any medium, from the last decade. And, it's by far, one of the best comic series you'll read as well.
Snag a copy of LOCKE & KEY: WELCOME TO LOVECRAFT this Wednesday, Third Eye Faithful.
All caught up on the trades (1-5) of Locke & Key? Can't wait to see how it ends? Jump on board the singles with LOCKE & KEY OMEGA #1 this Wednesday.

MARVEL NOW: THOR: GOD OF THUNDER #1 KICKS OFF THE RELAUNCH OF THOR, AND HOLY CRAP, IT'S SO GOOD... SO SO GOOD! GET IT!
Folks, there's a lot of really awesome-looking titles coming out of the MARVEL NOW relaunch, and there's a ton I'm excited about, but the new Thor is definitely in my top 5. I've never been the biggest THOR fan (aside from the Straczynski run, and what Gillen's done with Loki recently, and of course, Simonson), but, damn, Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic are set to blow some folks minds with this one.
Bringing a very Walt Simonson-like focus to the mythology and Asgardian roots of Thor, this new series is taking the Thunder God back to his roots, and showing us everything that's awesome about Asgard in the process.
Throughout the ages, the gods of the Marvel Universe have been vanishing, their mortal worshippers left in chaos. Now, the Mighty Thor follows a trail of god blood that threatens to consume his past, present and future selves. The only hope for these ravaged worlds lies with the God of Thunder unraveling the gruesome mystery of the God Butcher.
Does that not sound awesome? Holy crap! God Butcher?!? And this is rad, it's not just Asgard we're going to see focused on here, but all sorts of pantheons, including Greek myth and more.
Aaron, writer of WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN, is on fire here, and the art... WOW.. Esad Ribic is incredible, and this book is definitely set to be one of the most visually stunning of the MARVEL NOW line-up.
Folks, do not sleep on this, even if you're not a THOR fan, we guarantee you're going to love this one.

SUICIDE SQUAD #14 *DEATH OF THE FAMILY* -- Where does HARLEY QUINN fall into place with THE RETURN OF THE JOKER?
We are so hooked on the DEATH OF THE FAMILY crossover, and the SUICIDE SQUAD #14 that's dropping this Wednesday is one of the ones we're looking forward to the most.
Why? 'Cause it's focusing on the crucial role that the Joker's biggest follower, Harley Quinn, plays in the DEATH OF THE FAMILY storyline.
A funeral for a friend finds itself interrupted, as the Clown Prince of Crime returns from Harley's past to bring her back to his side.
Another stunning installment of DEATH OF THE FAMILY, and rocking the killer die-cut overlay cover like BATMAN #13, CATWOMAN #13 and BATGIRL #13, do not sleep on this one, Third Eye Faithful!
Need the other installments? We've got all chapters of DEATH OF THE FAMILY in stock now.

BORDERLANDS ORIGINS #1 -- The kick-ass video game series gets it's story expanded in a new limited series from IDW! A must-read for any BORDERLANDS fans!
This comic series answers the question that many of you hardcore BORDERLANDS fans have been asking for quite some time: how did the Vault Hunters get on the bus with Marcus in the first place? This is the tale of how Roland got on the bus with Mordecai, Lilith, and Brick in this exciting look at the soldiers of the Crimson Lance and what made them leave their ranks and search for the Vault.
A four-issue limited series that's part of the official BORDERLANDS canon and continuity, which gives you the full scoop on the very beginnings of BORDERLANDS.

FABLES: WEREWOLVES OF THE HEARTLAND GRAPHIC NOVEL BRINGS A BRAND NEW STORY TO THE WORLD OF FABLES! A MUST-READ!
We're huge fans of FABLES here at Third Eye, and we are totally stoked whenever there's EXTRA Fables brought into the mix, and that's what we're getting with this new graphic novel from Vertigo and FABLES writer BILL WILLINGHAM.
Never before available in single issues, straight to graphic novel, Bigby Wolf takes center stage in what might be the most action-packed FABLES story to date. Set in the current FABLES timeline, which would take place after the most recent trade (vol.17), Bigby embarks on a quest through the American Heartland to find a new location for Fabletown. In his wanderings, Bigby stumbles across a small town named Story City, that, amazingly enough, seems to be populated by werewolves.
Who are they, and where did they come from? They aren't Fables, but they sure aren't normal mundys. They seem to already know and revere Bigby, but at the same time they've captured and caged him -- but why?
Unraveling the many mysteries of Story City may cost Bigby more than his life.

WALKING DEAD #104 -- THE JOURNEY CONTINUES, AND A NEW HERO RISES.
Man, the WALKING DEAD has been picking up the pace, and each issue has been blowing our minds! Last month's #103, left us on the edge of our seats, and we cannot wait to see what the deal is with this week's #104.
Spoilers can ruin everything with WALKING DEAD, so we're just going to leave this cover image here with you, and let you sit on the edge of your seat just a bit longer.
Trust us, folks: things are getting CRAZY.
Reading WALKING DEAD in the trades, and wanna jump onto the singles? The most recent volume will take you up to issue #96, and then from there, we've got issues #97-#103 in stock now to catch you up to this week's #104.

MARVEL NOW: FANTASTIC FOUR #1 DEBUTS FROM "HAWKEYE" WRITER MATT FRACTION AND IT'S FREAKIN' AMAZING! (We had to try really hard to not use FANTASTIC)
You know, in the last few years, I've become quite the Fantastic Four fan, and that's pretty crazy, 'cause I never got into the FF growing up reading comics.
You know who got me into 'em? JONATHAN HICKMAN, Third Eye Faithful, the man behind another favorite, MANHATTAN PROJECTS, ans well as many others like PAX ROMANA and RED WING.
So, when I heard Hickman was leaving the book, I'll admit: I was half-tempted to jump off, 'cause I thought, who else could make me love the FF that much?
And, then Matt Fraction took it over, and well, hot damn, that was all I needed to keep me on board. His work on stuff like the recent HAWKEYE series, as well as cult favorites like CASANOVA, and of course, his epic run on INVINCIBLE IRON MAN, has me convinced that he's going to knock it out of the park on this one.
And, folks, it's a grand slam. Mark Bagley of ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN fame brings his A+ game, and brings a stunning, big, bold Marvel look to the book that's both cutting edge and classic Marvel at the same time.
Fraction amps up the sci-fi weirdness of the team, while playing up their place as the Marvel Universe's Greatest Heroes, and does a killer job of making this a perfect Fantastic Four series for anyone new to the characters to jump on board with.
Great artwork, great storytelling, easy to get on board with. Folks, this is a must-read, do not sleep on it.
FANTASTIC FOUR #1 PHANTOM VARIANT AVAILABLE AT THIRD EYE THIS WEDNESDAY
We're not getting hit with just one PHANTOM variant this week, Third Eye Faithful, but TWO, as the Phantom drops this FANTASTIC FOUR #1 Phantom Variant by STUFF OF LEGEND artist CHARLES PAUL WILSON III on us alongside the GREAT PACIFIC Phantom Variant up above.
We love the retro homage to AVENGERS here with this cover, and it makes a great companion to last week's DEADPOOL #1 Phantom variant. We will have a very limited amount of these available, so if you want one, make sure you snag one fast, or reserve a copy!

BATGIRL #14 *DEATH OF THE FAMILY TIE-IN* -- The RETURN OF THE JOKER continues, as Barbara Gordon must save her family from a fate much worse than death!
You've already heard us rave about how damn awesome the DEATH OF THE FAMILY arc running through the BAT-BOOKS is in the two previous DOTF write-ups, but we'll say it again: THIS IS THE BEST JOKER STORY WE'VE READ IN YEARS!
And, with Joker and Barbara's history -- you know things are going to get real here, Third Eye Faithful.
After that fateful meeting in the now-classic KILLING JOKE, will Barbara fall victim once again to THE JOKER?

THIRD EYE FAVORITE SCALPED COMES TO IT'S CONCLUSION WITH THIS WEDNESDAY'S SCALPED VOL.10 TRAILS END
The final volume of this critically acclaimed crime series brings together all the threads laid out from the very beginning... and folks, the ending is, well, just plain epic. It's amazing. A perfect end for an amazing series.
And, if you've never read SCALPED before, folks, please, give it a shot. This incredible VERTIGO series is on par with series like Y THE LAST MAN, and PREACHER, in the way it builds its characters, and unfolds it's story.
Imagine if you took the complexity of a crime drama like THE WIRE, with it's emphasis on building strong and layered characters, and then set it against the backdrop of a Reservation in the Mid-West, delving into the world that surrounds it.
SCALPED is off-the-chain good reading, Third Eye Faithful, and we cannot recommend it enough.
Snag yourself a copy of the very first volume, and give it a shot this Wednesday.

WHERE IS JAKE ELLIS #1 CONTINUES LAST YEAR'S "WHO IS JAKE ELLIS", AND KEEPS SERVING UP THE KICK-ASS ESPIONAGE AWESOME!
Last year, Nathan Edmondson (writer of THE ACTIVITY and DANCER) totally blew us away with his killer little espionage thriller WHO IS JAKE ELLIS?
We're totally pumped to see the story continuing with this week's sequel, WHERE IS JAKE ELLIS? #1.
What's the scoop? Jon is in hiding. For almost a year, he has survived on his own in a remote corner of the world, but the powers behind the Facility have not forgotten him. The most wanted man in the world is soon in the crosshairs of powerful and mysterious people, and he will not be able to stop them on his own. Where is Jake Ellis?
How'd it start? Jon Moore is a mercenary spy on the run, protected only by Jake Ellis... which doesn't sound too out of the ordinary, right? Well, there's only one person who can see Jake, and that' Jon. Everyone else? He's invisible to them. Does Jake exist? Is he just THAT good at the spy game? Or is he a figment of Jon's mind... that's the question that WHO IS JAKE ELLIS asks. And it's a damn good read. A modern noir thriller that grabs you and does not let go.
Wanna get into WHO IS JAKE ELLIS? Snag the first trade paperback this Wednesday, and hop on board.

MARVEL NOW: X-MEN LEGACY #1 -- THE BEST MARVEL NOW TITLE YOU MIGHT MISS -- DO NOT SLEEP ON X-MEN LEGACY! THIS BOOK HAS SLEEPER HIT WRITTEN ALL OVER IT! A MUST-READ FROM "CROSSED: WISH YOU WERE HERE" & "X-CLUB" writer SI SPURRIER
Meet the ANIMAL MAN of the MARVEL NOW line-up
This is a title that you guys have got to pick up, and give a shot. Seriously, I know the X-MEN LEGACY series before this didn't really have a long history of being a powerhouse read, but this book, this direction, dude: this is great!
Writer SI SPURRIER, of the recent CROSSED: WISH YOU WERE HERE, and the cult favorite X-CLUB, brings a very WARREN ELLIS-ey kinda vibe to the world of the X-Men, and we love it.
Legion, the most powerful and unstable mutant in the world and son to Professor Charles Xavier, has killed gods and reshaped the face of the universe.
Now, in the aftermath of AvX, Legion will finally attempt to conquer his own demons and embrace his father's legacy.
This series totally conjures up a tone and feel that's very reminiscent of DC's NEW 52 Animal Man, with it's X-Men meets Horror/Sci-Fi weirdness storytelling, and we really dig it. Tang Eng Huat's artwork is a perfect companion to Spurrier's writing, and Spurrier is on fire here, folks.
You can tell that he's been set loose to come up with the craziest tale he can think of, and it's totally a great fit.
Snag yourself a copy this Wednesday, and give it a shot!

DEATH OF THE FAMILY ROUNDS OUT IT'S FEARSOME FOURSOME OF TITLES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH THE STELLAR BATMAN & ROBIN #14
Damn, that cover is gnarly, isn't it? I love it. The fourth and final of the DEATH OF THE FAMILY tie-ins that're dropping this week is actually a "rogue" tie-in, like last month's RED HOOD, and it takes place in the pages of BATMAN AND ROBIN #14. This is a tie-in that hasn't been advertised as one, but plays HEAVILY into the big story surrounding the Return of the Joker.. and judging by that cover? We can see why.
Plus: if you don't already read BATMAN & ROBIN, this is a great opportunity to try out one of the BEST of the NEW 52 Bat-books (right behind the regular BATMAN title by Snyder & Capullo).

SAGA #7 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY -- ONE OF THE BEST COMICS ON THE STANDS, NOT READING THIS ONE? SNAG THE FIRST TRADE COLLECTING ISSUES 1-6 FOR ONLY $9.99 & GET ON BOARD WITH ISSUE #7! BE CAUGHT UP FOR LESS THAN $15!
Saga is one of our favorite books right now, Third Eye Faithful, and you know, you shouldn't be surprised: it's written by BRIAN K. VAUGHAN, the uber-talented author of Y: THE LAST MAN, EX MACHINA, and THE RUNAWAYS. So, you know, that pretty much tells you right off the bat the book is gonna be AWESOME.
But seriously, I can't stress how much we love the series. Fiona Staples's artwork is just plain stunning, and is the perfect fit to Brian's storytelling here.
What's SAGA? Imagine if you took the mature fantasy storytelling of something like A GAME OF THRONES and you mixed it with the bravado and snappy dialogue of something like Joss Whedon's FIREFLY series. Throw in the epic scope and feel of the STAR WARS trilogy, and that captures SAGA perfectly.
It's a mature-readers sci-fi/fantasy story that grabs a hold of you and refuses to let go. The characters, both major and minor, are written so well that you get invested in them almost immediately after their introductions, and the plot twists that end each issue? Jaw-dropping.
After a planned 2-month hiatus, SAGA returns to it's monthly schedule for season 2, with issue #7, as a new adventure begins, and new parents Marko and Alana make an unexpected discovery in the vast emptiness of outer space.
Not reading SAGA? Dude, just try it. I promise: it'll be the best $10 you spend on comics this month. Snag the first trade collecting issues 1-6, and hop on board. Trust us: you'll love it.

ED BRUBAKER, WRITER OF "CRIMINAL", "FATALE" & MORE, BRINGS HIS LONG OUT OF PRINT CRIME MASTERPIECE "SCENE OF THE CRIME" BACK TO THE STANDS COURTESY OF IMAGE COMICS!
Many of you guys, like ourselves, are huge fans of ED BRUBAKER and his crime noir-charged storytelling in books like FATALE, CRIMINAL, and INCOGNITO, as well as GOTHAM CENTRAL.
Well, folks, Brubaker's long out-of-print crime noir classic, SCENE OF THE CRIME, is being brought back into print in a gorgeous oversized hardcover edition, and it's fantastic.
This is where it all began, with a hard-hitting mystery story, a modern day 'Chinatown' that brought tons of accolades and attention to Brubaker as a crime comics writer, the story of SCENE OF THE CRIME is one that will captivate you, and not let go.
Sardonic, sentimental detective Jack Herriman has moved in with his Uncle Knut, and award-winning crime-scene photographer, in an attempt to rebuild his shattered life and career, putting his checkered past behind him. Jack takes on a missing-persons case that quickly turns into a murder investigation, dragging him into the midst of a family scandal and a lascivious -- and potentially deadly -- New Age cult. Jack's only hope for survival rests with his uncle and Molly, the woman to whom Knut has been "perpetually engaged" for decades.
This is a fantastic, and still very modern take on crime fiction, that has a distinct classic film noir feel, will show you just how Brubaker first captured many of our imaginations with his unique blend of crime comics storytelling.

MARVEL UNIVERSE VS. THE AVENGERS #2 -- THE START OF THE CANNIBAL PLAGUE THAT TURNED THE AVENGERS INTO BLOOD-THIRSTY MONSTERS IS REVEALED HERE!
This is a BLAST!
We've been a huge fan of the Marvel Versus series, and we're stoked to see the original story that started it all being told for the first time in the new MARVEL UNIVERSE VS. THE AVENGERS.
When a disease breaks out, turning most of the Marvel Universe's mightiest heroes into blood-thirsty, flesh-eating cannibals (not zombies though, think more along the lines of CROSSED), how far would you go to save the world? That's the question the remaining Avengers must answer.
Doctor Doom says that he can cure the cannibal plague that is consuming the Marvel Universe. But he has a price.
What's the cost? Doctor Doom becomes Emperor Doom.
Folks, this is a great WHAT IF, and if you dug DEADPOOL KILLS, you're going to love MARVEL UNIVERSE VS.

BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY END GAME #1 -- THE FINAL CLIMACTIC BATTLE BETWEEN BATMAN & THE JOKER CHANGES THE WORLD OF ARKHAM CITY FOREVER! AN OFFICIAL PART OF THE ARKHAM CITY GAMES CONTINUITY WITH RAMIFICATIONS THAT WILL BE FELT IN FUTURE GAMES!
We've been really big fans of the ARKHAM UNHINGED and ARKHAM CITY comics that've been further building the mythology and lore of the ARKHAM ASYLUM game universes. DC has done a great job of providing a very cool take on the Batman world with these, and we can't get enough.
In this one-shot, the final, climactic battle between Batman and the Joker leads to traumatic ramifications in this epic-length adventure.

BIG DOG INK, PUBLISHERS OF "LEGEND OF OZ" & "CRITTER" DEBUT A NEW SERIES WITH THIS WEDNESDAY'S JOAN OF ARC: FROM THE ASHES #1
We've been growing increasingly more and more impressed with Big Dog Ink's recent offerings like LEGEND OF OZ, and CRITTER, so when we saw they were dropping a new series this Wednesday, we thought we'd give it a shout-out.
Joan d'Arc has been many things to many people over the centuries since being burned at the stake at the age of only 19. Joan has spent her time in Heaven wisely and has earned the trust of the Heavenly Host.
Now she journeys back to Earth for the first time in hundreds of years with one goal: to save Mary Magdalene from the depths of Hell and may God have mercy on the souls of those that stand in her way.

GAMBIT #5 -- The new GAMBIT ongoing series keeps on kicking ass as GAMBIT ventures to the UK in search of EXCALIBUR!
We've been totally digging the new GAMBIT series that's been running from MARVEL, and cannot get enough of it. James Asmus, co-writer of THIEF OF THIEVES, does a fantastic job of dropping the angst, and focusing on what makes Gambit awesome: stories where he steals lots of stuff, and makes things explode with his mutant power!
As this new arc begins, we find Gambit coerced by a criminal mastermind, and sent to the UK to heist the greatest weapon in the history of man: Excalibur.
Of course, Pete Wisdom and MI13, Marvel's very own Torchwood-esque entity, may have something else to say about this.
Wanna get caught up? We've got issues 1-4 of GAMBIT in stock now to get you up to this week's GAMBIT #5.

STAFF PICKS
STEVE: DEADPOOL #1 - Gerry Duggan & Brian Posehn are on fire here. This could be the breakout star of the MARVEL NOW line-up.
TRISH: DEADPOOL #1 - Between this and the recent DEADPOOL KILLS THE MARVEL UNIVERSE, it's cool to see DEADPOOL making a come-back!
TORMA: IRON MAN #1 - Wow! This is my favorite of the MARVEL NOW so far, the best IRON MAN I've read in a long time.
SHAUN: 47 RONIN #1 -  Amazing! Stan Sakai's artwork is absolutely gorgeous as always, and I'm reminded of some of P. Craig Russell's work like SANDMAN: THE DREAM HUNTERS. If you love samurai, you MUST read this!
