This Week's Highlights at Third Eye Comics for Wednesday 12/18/13

HARLEY QUINN #1 -- The new HARLEY QUINN series continues this Wednesday! A Must-Read!
We are SO pumped for the new HARLEY QUINN series from DC, and cannot wait for this week's issue #1.
Harley is set to begin her new life, but she needs a job first -- enter the CONEY ISLAND ROLLER DERBY!
It's game time as Harley sets out to destroy her competition -- literally!
Okay, so how can you make Harley even cooler? Put her in something as awesome as Roller Derby, and let her go nuts on her rival teams.
Seriously though, we really dug the #0 issue, with Harley breaking the fourth wall, and pretty much establishing herself as DC Comics's very own DEADPOOL.
Now, that the ongoing series starts officially with #1, we're even more stoked, as we get the totally kick-ass artwork of Chad Hardin, and the fantastic storytelling of Jimmy Palmiotti & Amanda Conner.
Wanna hop on board? We've still got copies of issue #0 in stock now to get you caught up to speed.

THE AWESOMENESS OF IMAGE'S NEW ONGOING SERIES BLACK SCIENCE CONTINUES IN BLACK SCIENCE #2 THIS WEDNESDAY!
From RICK REMENDER (Fear Agent, Uncanny X-Force: Dark Angel Saga)
Oh man, we just absolutely loved issue #1 of BLACK SCIENCE, and are so freakin' amped for the second issue this week.
In BLACK SCIENCE, we're introduced to Grant McKay, a former member of the Anarchistic Order of Scientists, who has finally done the impossible: he has deciphered Black Science and punched through the barriers of reality.
But, what lies beyond the veil is not epiphany, but chaos.
Now, Grant and his team are lost, living ghosts shipwrecked on an infinite ocean of alien worlds, barreling through the long-forgotten, ancient, and unimaginable dark realms.
Very much in tone with Remender's cult favorite, FEAR AGENT, Black Science is a face-melting sci-fi epic that's reminiscent of a less evil, more stylish Doctor Doom leading the Swiss Family Robinson.
In this week's issue #2, Grant and his crew escape the madness of the lightning sea-swamp only to be flung into a futurepast trench world, where the Sons of the Wakan Tech-Tanka wage never-ending war on the savages of Europe!
How did the Anarchist League of Scientists end up this deep in the onion? Who among them sabotaged the Pillar?
This book SCREAMS cool, Third Eye Faithful. It's bigger than life -- the comic book equivalent of films like Inception, with the Dillinger Escape Plan and Shellac as it's soundtrack.
It's awesome.
Get into it this week, and we've got issue 1 in stock now to get you caught up.

UNCANNY AVENGERS #15 -- THE AFTERMATH OF ROGUE, WONDER MAN & SCARLET WITCH'S DEATHS IS EXPLORED AS THINGS HEAT UP!
From the writer of BLACK SCIENCE!
Dude: how big of a shock was UNCANNY AVENGERS #14 last month? Talk about a massacre -- Rogue. Scarlet Witch. Wonder Man. All taken down in the shocking events that've led to the epic showdown in this week's UNCANNY AVENGERS #15.
We gotta admit: this series has been quietly climbing it's way to the tops of our reading stack every month, and just like he did in UNCANNY X-FORCE: THE DARK ANGEL SAGA, Remender has been building a deep, and layered storyline that delivers MAJOR payoff.
Now, in this week's issue #15, the fate of humanity rests in the hands of Thor, but can the God of Thunder defeat the combined might of two Apocalypses?
At the same time, the Wasp fights for her life against the unparalleled might of the Sentry!
We've got issues 1-14 in stock now to catch you up to this week's issue #15.

THE MIDAS FLESH #1 DEBUTS FROM ADVENTURE TIME Writer RYAN NORTH to deliver a stunning, hip sci-fi take on Greek myth!
We've really dug the work that Ryan North has done with ADVENTURE TIME, and his own DINOSAUR COMICS series is a real blast, so when we saw him coming out with something totally fresh and original for Boom! Studios (publishers of DAY MEN and IRREDEEMABLE), we knew we were in for a treat.
Everyone knows the story of the Midas touch. The Greek myth about the man who did a number on himself by wishing for everything he touched to turn to gold.
Now, imagine that myth explored in the depths of space in a world surrounded with raygun-toting heroines, and spacesuit rocking velociraptors.
Fatima and her space crew have decided to return to Earth -- a planet completely sectioned off, abandoned, and covered in gold -- to find out exactly what happened to this once thriving planet and see if they can use that knowledge against the evil empire that's tracking them down.
As luck would have it, they just landed the most powerful weapon in the universe: some ancient dead guy's body.

TEEN TITANS GO #1 -- A Killer New Ongoing Series for Fans of the new Animated Series!
Love it or hate it, the new TEEN TITANS GO show has got a TON of fans, young and old, hooked. And, honestly: we think it's pretty darn fun.
So, we're pretty stoked for this week's TEEN TITANS GO 31, which features Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven as they display their unique brand of hijinks, mayhem and justice.
But, giant pizza monsters aren't the only dastardly and delicious villains on the menu -- so, get ready for some craziness!
A perfect comic for the young fan in your life, hook 'em up and get 'em into something awesome!

SAGA #17 -- OUR FAVORITE MONTHLY COMIC ON THE STANDS CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY!
EVER WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF "STAR WARS" & "A GAME OF THRONES" BECAME ONE?
READ SAGA!
One of our favorite series hitting the racks continues to be SAGA, and every single issue makes the book better, and better.
Take the dialogue and character building of Joss Whedon's FIREFLY / SERENITY, mix that with the sweeping space opera of the STAR WARS Trilogy, and then bring in the darker edge and mature themes of A GAME OF THRONES -- and that sums up the nature of Brian K. Vaughan (Y: THE LAST MAN) and Fiona Staples's incredible ongoing IMAGE COMICS series.
SAGA is the sweeping tale of one young family fighting to find their place in the worlds. When two soldiers from opposite sides of a never-ending galactic war fall in love, they risk everything to bring a fragile new life into a dangerous old universe.
Fantasy and sci-fi are wed like never before in a sexy, subversive drama for adults that leaves you on the edge of your seat with each and every issue.
If you're not reading it yet, we highly recommend snagging SAGA Volume 1, which collects issues 1-6, for only $9.99 and giving it a shot.
And, as for this week's issue #17: Prince Robot gets EVERYONE into major trouble.
Wanna catch up to issue #17? We've got trade 1 (1-6) and trade 2 (7-11), as well as issues 12-16 in stock now to get you current!

DEADPOOL CLASSIC VOL.9 BRINGS US THE AGENT X YEARS OF THE MERC WITH A MOUTH! Featuring writing by GAIL SIMONE!
Third Eye favorite Gail Simone takes on Marvel's MERC WITH A MOUTH! When DEADPOOL crosses paths with the Black Swan, the telepathic villain infects Wade with a virus that eats away at his mind.
Can Deadpool overcome his degenerating thought processes and continue his merc work? Not likely!
The madness continues as Deadpool must steal the Rhino's horn and play bodyguard to mutant songstress Dazzler.
Along the way, he'll get by with a little help from some new friends: Sandi Brandenberg, Ratbag, Outlaw and the Taskmaster.
But when a showdown with the Black Swan goes wrong, who - if anyone - will survive? And in the aftermath: Meet Agent X!
He appears on Sandi's doorstep, an amnesiac blank slate with healing powers, uncanny fighting skills and a burning desire to be a mercenary. Is he a deeply damaged Deadpool?
And if not, who or what is he?
The late '90s and early 2000s DEADPOOL run still stands the test of time as one of the best DEADPOOL runs, and the DEADPOOL CLASSIC trades have been doing an excellent job of reprinting the entire thing.
Want the earlier volumes? We've got volumes 1-8 in stock now to get you up to this week's volume 9.

ONE OF IMAGE'S BIGGEST HITS OF 2013, PRETTY DEADLY, CONTINUES WITH PRETTY DEADLY #3 THIS WEDNESDAY
PRETTY DEADLY is really turning into one of our favorite new series on the stands, and we've been loving it since the very first issue.
This week's PRETTY DEADLY #3 really brings things together, as the surreal, and eerie acid-trip fairytale Western continues.
This haunted, sweeping vision of the Old West is very reminiscent of what we know of typical Westerns -- but, at the same time, every crack, every corner of the surroundings is oozing with mythology.
One part spaghetti Western, one part Neil Gaiman's THE SANDMAN, PRETTY DEADLY is the story of Ginny -- the daughter of DEATH -- and her name is whispered in fear by nearly all.
From there, we're taken on a journey that's already captivating, and we're only two, now going on three, issues in.
Gorgeous artwork from the very talented Emma Rios, PRETTY DEADLY is one of those perfect pairings of art and story, in the same vein as stellar IMAGE titles like SAGA, REVIVAL, and EAST OF WEST.
We can't recommend this one enough, Third Eye Faithful: get into it!
We've got issues 1 & 2 in stock now to catch you up to this week's #3.

FABLES VOL.19: SNOW WHITE BRINGS THE NEXT INSTALLMENT TO THE STELLAR VERTIGO COMICS SERIES FABLES!
A MUST FOR FANS OF "ONCE UPON A TIME" & "GRIMM"
Fables continues to be one of our favorite series, and that's saying something considering for how long the book has been running.
So, whenever we see a brand new installment to the world of FABLES, we feel the need to scream our love for this comic from the mountaintops.
What's it about?
In the same vein as best-selling "fractured-fairy-tales" such as Wicked and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister is Bill Willingham's runaway hit graphic novel series FABLES.
No longer just children's tales, Willingham has created a new world for these beloved fables...one that exists within our own.
When a savage creature known only as the Adversary conquered the fabled lands of legends and fairy tales, all of the infamous inhabitants of folklore were forced into exile.
Disguised among the normal citizens of modern-day New York, these magical characters created their own secret society-within an exclusive luxury apartment building on Manhattan's Upper West Side-called Fabletown.
But when Snow White's party-girl sister, Rose Red, is apparently murdered, it is up to Bigby, Fabletown's sheriff, and a reformed and pardoned Big Bad Wolf, to determine if the culprit is Bluebeard, Rose's ex-lover and notorious wife killer, or Jack, her current live-in boyfriend and former beanstalk-climber.
From there, we've been taken on a decade-long journey through the war between iconic characters of folklore, the relationships of the characters we know and love, and more.
It really is one of the best books ever, and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
Wanna jump on board? We've got the very first volume, LEGENDS IN EXILE, in stock now to get you into the world of FABLES.
As for this week's volume 19, Castle Dark is now back in the hands of the Fables as Bigby sets off from Fabletown in Brian Rose's blood-fueled sports car to track down two abducted cubs.
Unfortunately for Snow White, besides suffering the trauma of her missing cubs, a long-forgotten secret threatens to sabotage her marriage to Bigby.

JONATHAN HICKMAN'S SCI-FI WESTERN EPIC EAST OF WEST CONTINUES IN EAST OF WEST #8 THIS WEDNESDAY
Man, this week is like a who's who of the top shelf IMAGE titles, and here we are with yet another major favorite at Third Eye: EAST OF WEST.
Jonathan Hickman, the writer of Marvel's INFINITY, MANHATTAN PROJECTS, and more, is weaving one hell of a story with EAST OF WEST. One part DARK TOWER, one part BLADE RUNNER, EAST OF WEST is the story of the Four Horsemen, as they roam the distant future of a world where the Civil War never really ended, and the United States is instead the 7 Nations.
It's a widescreen epic of a comic that is a must-read for anyone who's a fan of SAGA, THE WALKING DEAD, or Stephen King's DARK TOWER novels.
Wanna get on board? We've got issues 1-7 to catch you up, or you can start with the first trade, collecting 1-5 for only $9.99 then catch up from there.

SUPERIOR VENOM.

Get ALL 8 Locke & Key Alpha #2 Covers for ONLY $59.99 (Limited QTYs available)
Save 15%!
This is it, Third Eye Faithful, one of the best comics of the last decade brings us it's official conclusion this Wednesday.
A door claps softly shut. A key scrapes in a last rusted lock. It ends here: the story of the Locke children and their desperate, tragic battle with the monster set on destroying them: the past.
Locke & Key has been one of the best comics we've been reading since it's launch, and we know many of you guys have discovered the series via the trade paperbacks, to become just as enraptured as we are.
For those of you not reading the book, we highly recommend it. In the spirit of classics like THE SANDMAN and PREACHER, Locke and Key is a genre-defying tale that's one part ghost story, one part modern fantasy, and all heart.
Locke & Key tells the story of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them, and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all.
Eerie, intriguing, and featuring some of the most well-developed, well-rounded and layered characters in comics, LOCKE & KEY is the definition of quality comics, Third Eye Faithful.
Wanna get on board? We've got the graphic novels in stock now, and the very first one, LOCKE & KEY VOL.1 Welcome to Lovecraft is only $19.99 to get started.
We are also offering a special bundle of ALL 8 of the LOCKE & KEY covers for only $59.99 -- saving you up to 15%, as this includes the 1:10 Photo Variant cover!

IMAGE TAKES HORROR TO A NEW LEVEL WITH A VOICE IN THE DARK IN A VOICE IN THE DARK #2 THIS WEDNESDAY!
A VOICE IN THE DARK dropped last month, and impressed the heck out of us, and we're pretty stoked for this week's issue #2.
With a killer first line like 'Dear Diary, it's been 72 days since I killed someone' -- you know you're in for a wild ride right from the get go.
Meet Zoey. Zoey killed someone 72 days ago -- and, now, in college, she's eager to start a new life. A new life where she can control her dark urges the way she has before.
But, when Zoey becomes the host of a late-night campus radio show, Zoey must consider if she has given a voice to something far more troubled than her anonymous callers.
The series reminds you a lot of DEXTER during it's early days, and it's a fascinating look at the homicidal maniac as the hero genre that's grown more and more popular in the last few years.
We really dig it -- and think you will too. Wanna hop on board? We've got issue 1 in stock now to catch you up to this week's #2.

STAR WARS: DARTH VADER AND THE CRY OF SHADOWS EXPLORES IMPACT OF LORD VADER ON THE VETERANS OF THE CLONE WARS!
How can you say no to a good Vader comic? You can't. It's impossible. Some things are just naturally cool, and Darth Vader is one of them.
During the Clone Wars, a single trooper-left for dead during battle-comes to hate the Jedi generals who abandoned him.
Years later, he lives on, bitter and angry, until hearing tales of a great warrior.
Now, this clone believes he may have found the leader he should have been following all along . . . Darth Vader!

ZERO #4 -- ONE OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE, AND KICK-ASS COMICS OF 2013 CONTINUES!
ZERO is the definition of what we love about IMAGE COMICS. Fresh, unique, and innovative. This is the kind of comic we want to see more of, and folks, if you're not reading it yet -- you need to be. It's that freakin' good.
Focusing on an individual only known as Agent Zero, ZERO is an ongoing series, with each issue being a one-shot story, set at different times and points in the life of AGENT ZERO.
Agent Zero is pretty much the definition of counter-terrorism bad-ass, and the work he's given by the AGENCY ranges from straight-up counter-terrorism ops to more clandestine snatch-and-grab kinda stuff.
Each issue features a different artist, but keeps the same writer, maintaining the same tone.
The aesthetic of the book itself is part of the charm, as you literally get story from the inside front cover all the way to the back inside cover. All killer, no filler.
In this week's ZERO #4, it's Rio, 2019. Edward Zero looks in a mirror and the mirror gives him unsettling answers.
The mirror being Carlyle, an ex-Agency spy, holed up in a favela, running his own gang.
Non-stop, action-packed awesomeness. ZERO is one of our personal favorites at Third Eye.
Wanna catch up? We've got issues 1-3 in stock now to get you up to this week's #4.

As they travel together, they get tangled up in the French Resistance and their efforts against a growing German presence under the leadership of a fanatical hook-handed SS officer hellbent on wiping them out!
