VERTIGO UNVEILS IT'S NEXT STELLAR NEW SERIES WITH DEAD BOY DETECTIVES #1, STRAIGHT FROM THE PAGES OF NEIL GAIMAN'S "THE SANDMAN"
Dude -- this looks like so much fun! We're big fans of THE SANDMAN here at Third Eye, and when we caught wind that the Dead Boy Detectives were getting their own title -- we knew it'd be awesome!
From the pages of the SANDMAN, Neil Gaiman's dead boys get their own monthly ongoing series.
As fans of storybook detectives, Edwin Paine (died 1916) and Charles Rowland (died 1990) will take on any and all mysteries -- including their own untimely deaths!
The dead boys head back to St. Hilarions, where bullying headmasters continue to rule the school.
But, when they investigate the lingering mysteries of their own deaths, they meet a young girl named Crystal whose tech skills and strange link to the undead earn her a place as a new detective.
DEAD BOY DETECTIVES is a fast, fun read that ventures from the bustling streets of modern-day London to Japanese inspired video games and dangerous worlds perched somewhere between now and nevermore.
Featuring art by FABLES own MARK BUCKINGHAM, this new series is definitely worth taking a peek at this week if you've dug other recent Vertigo hits like COFFIN HILL and HINTERKIND.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #10WELCOMES NEW ARTIST KEVIN MAGUIRE, THE COMICS LEGEND WHO DEFINED THE JUSTICE LEAGUE WITH KEITH GIFFEN BACK IN THE DAY!
Brian Michael Bendis has been doing an incredible job of taking the world of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and making it totally relevant, and most importantly: cool. :)
The series reads a lot like if THE AVENGERS and Joss Whedon's FIREFLY had a baby -- it's smart, it's action-packed, and the characters have a TON of life and personality that helps get you invested in the run.
Featuring a cast of all-star artists, ranging from STEVE MCNIVEN to SARA PICHELLI to FRANCESCO FRANCAVILLA, the series welcomes another major name in the realm of comic art with KEVIN MAGUIRE this week.
Kevin Maguire is one of those names that you may not know instantly, but he is truly a comic legend, and is responsible for an era of JUSTICE LEAGUE stories with Giffen from way back in the day -- you know that classic Guy Gardner getting knocked out in one hit by Batman sequence? You can thank Kevin Maguire for that.
We're big fans of his art, and with his knack for being able to tell a story with strong facial expressions, and dynamic storytelling -- he's a perfect fit for this top shelf book.
Wanna hop aboard GUARDIANS? We can get you up to speed with issues 1-9, or start you with the first hardcover, collecting 1-5 then catch you up from there.

THIRD EYE FAVORITE HUMBERTO RAMOS DELIVERS A MUST-READ FOR FANS OF THE CLASSIC SERIES "CRIMSON"
We're big fans of HUMBERTO RAMOS, who many of you know best from his work on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN and SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN, as well as his classic series: CRIMSON.
So, when we saw his series REVELATIONS was gonna be brought to our shelves this week -- we knew we had to shout it out.
In REVELATIONS, Ramos unfolds a story of religion, atheism, murder and mystery.
Fans of BBC's SHERLOCK and LUTHER will not want to miss this tale of corruption through the eyes of an outsider.
A potential successor to the dying Pope is killed at the Vatican. Longtime atheist and hard edged London detective, Charlie Northern, is put on the case by a Vatican priest, and long forgotten friend.
He must solve the case that the local police cannot, coming face to face with hundreds of years of conspiracy and corruption in the seat of the world's wealthiest religion.
A stunning read -- check it out this week at Third Eye!

SCOTT SNYDER (BATMAN COURT OF OWLS, AMERICAN VAMPIRE) & JIM LEE'S (JUSTICE LEAGUE) BLOCKBUSTER SUPERMAN UNCHAINED CONTINUES WITH SUPERMAN UNCHAINED #5 THIS WEEK!
We're HUGE fans of the work that SCOTT SNYDER & JIM LEE are doing on their bigger-than-life, widescreen SUPERMAN title, SUPERMAN UNCHAINED, and are stoked to see the 5th issue dropping this week.
In SUPERMAN UNCHAINED #5, Superman and Wraith form an alliance to rescue a hostage and strike at the heart of Ascension, but the mission goes awry when it becomes clear the Man of Tomorrow and the soldier from beyond the stars have very different methodologies -- and objectives!
PLUS: secrets are revealed about Wraith's people!
Folks: Snyder is one heck of an awesome writer, and his work on BATMAN COURT OF OWLS, BATMAN DEATH OF THE FAMILY, and of course, AMERICAN VAMPIRE, has proven that he's got some serious chops.
So, it's no surprise that pairing him up with the uber-talented JIM LEE, on one of comics biggest icons, is a no-brainer. This book rules.
