THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE!

DARK AVENGERS #2  HITS THE RACKS THIS WEDNESDAY!!

The biggest book this week is definitely DARK AVENGERS #2. This amazing new series featuring the Marvel's most notorious super-villains working as the current incarnation of the Avengers has everyone hooked. Take some homicidal maniacs like Bullseye, toss 'em in with some morally grey characters like The Sentry and Ares, and then a little bit of Norman Osborn for good measure, and you know you're getting some good stuff. Written by the always on point Brian Michael Bendis, and illustrated by the amazing pencils of Mike Deodato, Dark Avengers is a huge hit. And, don't you worry, Third Eye faithful, Dark Avengers #1 may be sold out nationwide, but, WE GOT YOU COVERED. We still have a limited amount of #1s sticking around, so if you want to jump on, now's your chance! And you don't even have to wait for the second prints!

Now, onto Dark Avengers #2... More Morgana Le Fay dastardliness, more secrets revealed... and well, LOTS OF BAD GUYS! Oh come on, who're we kidding? This book is awesome, and the more we tell you, the more we take away from some of those killer GOTCHA moments. All we can say is the Dr. Doom and Morgana connection is getting more and more thicker (and hey, go all the way back to Mighty Avengers early issues to see how far this little story's been planned), and the formation of HAMMER solidifies... who knows what else is in store?

MARVEL NOIR CONTINUES WITH THIS WEEK'S SPIDER-MAN NOIR #3!

Another huge hit here at Third Eye has been the Marvel Noir line of comics. The concept is pretty friggin' awesome, see, take Marvel's iconic characters, and then completely turn their origins on their heads, and set them against a '20s/'30s pulpy noir back-drop. The artwork and writing have both been top notch, and the stylized feel of the series has kept us coming back for more and more. We're especially fond of the current Spider-man Noir run, with it's creepy throw back to the days of pulp characters like The Spider (hmm...), the Shadow, and so on and so forth. Very cool stuff, very much worth reading.

ULTIMATE HULK vs. WOLVERINE #2  CONTINUES THE MARVEL MAYHEM FROM "LOST" CO-CREATOR DAMON LINDELLOFF!

Okay, how awesome was that first issue of ULTIMATE HULK vs. WOLVERINE? The HULK has a harem, located in a mountain fortress... like something out of Conan, and Wolverine gets torn in two... LITERALLY.. and his legs thrown 7 miles apart from his torso? How beautiful is that? And of course, the artwork from Lenil Francis Yu has us jaw-dropping the entire time. Yup, this week, the second installment in this red hot miniseries from the co-creator of LOST, Damon Lindeloff, and the artist of SECRET INVASION, will be hitting the stands.

What's the scoop on this one? Well, taking place before the events of ULTIMATES 2 #11 (and trust me, if you have not read the first two ULTIMATES series by OLD MAN LOGAN & KICK ASS writer MARK MILLAR and current Fantastic Four artist BRYAN HITCH, then you HAVE to pick them up next time you come through. Some of the best comic storytelling of the 21st century), Wolverine is contracted by Nick Fury to assassinate the Hulk who is now residing in the mountains of Tibet. This series originally started a few years ago, but due to Lindeloff's busy TV schedule, never finished. The third issue is set to come out in a few weeks, and these re-issues of 1 and 2 are here to catch up everyone who missed out on this great series a couple years back.

SUPERGIRL #38 NEW KRYPTON CHAPTER 14!

JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL FIGURES DEBUT THIS WEEK!

We're pretty excited about DC DIRECT'S brand new JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL figures that are coming out this week. Why? Because JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL is some of the best comic goodness we've read! These figures are based off the artwork and designs of Kevin Maguire, who did all the artwork for the classic Keith Giffen JL work (including that infamous issue where Batman knocks out Guy Gardner with one punch...). Anyhow, here's some links to check out these extremely well-done figures:

DID YOU KNOW? LAST WEEK'S GREEN LANTERN CORPS #33- PRELUDE TO BLACKEST NIGHT CHAPTER!

In case you didn't catch it last week, last week's GREEN LANTERN CORPS #33 is a PRELUDE TO BLACKEST NIGHT chapter. The reason we didn't have this hyped in the email last week is because DC does not give us as much information on upcoming books as Marvel does, so it slipped by us until Wednesday morning when I'm unpacking the boxes, and well, hot diggity... there's some Blackest Night lead-in stuff! So, for those of you like me who've been eagerly awaiting the Blackest Night, and following the Rage of the Red Lanterns.. do yourselves a favor and snag a copy of GREEN LANTERN CORPS #33 this week. We still have plenty in stock. Click here  to read more about GREEN LANTERN CORPS #33!

THIRD EYE MANGA SPOTLIGHT: NAOKI URASAWA'S 20th Century Boys

Debuting this week, we've got a highly anticipated new Manga series from the creator of MONSTER. This one is definitely one you should give a look, even if you're not a big Manga-reader, because it's going to be one of those great little crossover books. I'm personally very excited to check it out. What's the scoop? Well, it's a science fiction mystery that pulls it's title from the T. Rex song "20th Century Boy". Basically, you follow a failed rock musician working at a convenience store who's past comes back at him when a childhood friend commits suicide. Somehow some intrigue and mystery with a new cult that's being implicated in all sorts of murders ties back to this.

All we know is we really dig Monster, and we're pretty pumped about this! Click here  to read a little more on 20th Century Boys!
