This Week's Highlights at Third Eye Comics for Wednesday 10/3/12

AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #12 -- The Issue You've Been Waiting For. It All Ends Here... and the first lights of MARVEL NOW Begin to Shine!
This is it, Third Eye Faithful. All summer long, you and us, have been along for the same ride: the war that would tear the MARVEL UNIVERSE apart. The AVENGERS VS. X-MEN. And, hot damn, what a wild ride it's been!
Marvel came back with a vengeance with AvX, showing us just how darn capable they were of taking the crown of blockbuster stories back again, and giving us the BEST Marvel crossover event they've done... EVER. Yes. I'll go ahead and say it: this one has been better than CIVIL WAR. It's been better than SECRET WAR. It's been better than SIEGE, FEAR ITSELF, and all the rest. It literally is the culmination of everything that's been brewing in the Marvel Universe for the last several years.
I mean, when you ask me to put into words what I want out of a big Marvel Universe storyline, this is it. Iconic characters. Action-packed storytelling. Top shelf artists. Lasting impacts to the storyline as a whole.
Now, moving forward, here we are, at issue #12, and it's all about to wrap up this week.
It's no secret that the way that AVENGERS VS. X-MEN concludes, will give way to the beginnings of MARVEL NOW, which debuts the following week on OCT. 10th.
We don't want to get into the details of what goes down here, so we'll save the spoilers, and shut our mouths.
Instead, we're going to give those of you who're not already following the story a quick rundown of WHAT AvX is, and why you need to be reading this.
Avengers vs. X-Men kicked off over the Summer, as the Phoenix, a cosmic entity that once used Jean Grey as it's host, and has the power to wipe out all life in the universe, returned to Earth.
The Avengers, understandably, had some reservations about the Phoenix's return, and where it was headed: a young X-Men member known as Hope. But, Cyclops, saw the Phoenix as a chance at salvation for the dwindling mutantrace... and, again, understandably, took the defensive against the Avengers.
From there, a war erupted, which has led to Cyclops becoming the Dark Phoenix, and doing some really, REALLY ill stuff. Stuff we'll let you find out for yourself.
Now, the X-Men AND the AVENGERS must unite to do what must be done: save the planet itself from the wrath of Cyclops the Dark Phoenix.
This is a GREAT storyline to get you prepped for MARVEL NOW, and if you're looking for a primer for the upcoming Marvel NOW relaunch, this is it.
We've got issues 0-11 in stock now to catch you up to this Wednesday's issue #12.

Make sure you get the THIRD EYE COMICS exclusive this Wednesday!
It's no secret, Third Eye Faithful, we're pretty darn big fans of DOCTOR WHO here at the shop. We just can't get enough of the cool monsters, the super awesome storytelling, and of course, the kick-ass Doctors. And, we can't forget the Companions, either, ya know?
Seriously though, when IDW approached us about working together with them on a special exclusive cover of DOCTOR WHO #1, well, we knew we had to. And, you know us, right? We had to do something a bit festive, considering the comic was set to release in October, right?
So, we had them whip us up a very cool monster movie themed variant off one of our favorites: Abbot and Costello meet Frankenstein, and damn, did they outdo themselves, or what?
Anyways, the new DOCTOR WHO series is a MUST-READ for any of you self-respecting WHO fans out there.
This new series tells all-new adventures of the 11th Doctor, and friends, as it synchs up perfectly with the current events of the DOCTOR WHO TV series. It's almost like having an extra episode a week.. and then some!

GREEN LANTERN #13 *RISE OF THE THIRD ARMY CHAPTER 1* -- THE FIRST CHAPTER OF THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RISE OF THE THIRD ARMY ARC HAS ARRIVED!
I've been rallying the GL titles for the last couple of months, Third Eye Faithful, as many of you know, and for good reason: these books are about to EXPLODE with awesomeness. It all started with the opening shots fired in the RISE OF THE THIRD ARMY prologue, GREEN LANTERN ANNUAL #1, and continued into the excellent GREEN LANTERN #0, which introduced the new GL of Earth, BAZ.
Now, it's official: the Green Lantern books are once again among the top 3 DC Comics I'm looking forward to. It's no surprise, to be honest, they've always been good, but I gotta tell you: this is the most excited I've been for the books since the ending of BLACKEST NIGHT. While the WAR OF THE GL and the NEW 52 opener with SINESTRO were solid reads, nothing has managed to duplicate the awesomeness of BLACKEST NIGHT, but I think RISE OF THE THIRD ARMY might just surpass it.
GEOFF JOHNS, writer of GL, AQUAMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE, and so much more, is almost ALWAYS on point, and his artist on GL for the last few years, DOUG MAHNKE, is a perfect fit for the stories that Johns tells. When these guys have a concept like RISE on their hands, you know it's going to be pure comic magic.
So, what's the concept behind the RISE OF THE THIRD ARMY? Well, as we had seen in the pages of GREEN LANTERN ANNUAL (still in stock and available now), The Guardians have decided it's time to replace the Lantern Corps.
They failed with their first attempt, the Manhunters, souless robot space cops who ended up killing entire sectors without mercy. And, now, they have determined they've failed once again with the Lantern Corps, as they're TOO emotional, and too free-willed.
So, a Third Army must be formed. One that's not as soulless or automaton based as the Manhunters, but one that does not share the free will of the Corps.
The trick here though? The Lantern Corps must be eliminated, and the Guardians are dispensing their new Third Army to KILL ALL THE GREEN LANTERNS.
It's freakin' awesome.
Plus: we've got the Return of BLACK HAND, and his Black Ring... bringing back the dead, and signaling a possible return of the Black Lanterns that made BLACKEST NIGHT so awesome.
Throw in the debut of a brand new GREEN LANTERN, and the continuing development of his origins and his backstory, and you've got yourself a pretty interesting story going here.
Wanna jump on board? Snag the GREEN LANTERN ANNUAL and the GREEN LANTERN #0, and you'll be good to go with this week's GL #13.

DAREDEVIL: END OF DAY #1 -- Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, one of the best damn DAREDEVIL creative teams in the last 20 years return with a new limited series exploring an untold DAREDEVIL story!
Okay, folks, let me start by saying that I am totally in love with the current run of DAREDEVIL by MARK WAID, and it's by far, my favorite run on the character since... BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS and ALEX MALEEV'S.
However: NOTHING tops the Bendis/Maleev stuff for me. To this day, I like their run even more than I do Frank Miller's, and I know that's saying a lot, but seriously: this was the run of DD that made me a fan of the character.
The Bendis/Maleev run lasted for about 75-80 issues, and is now available in three big fat trade paperback collections called the DAREDEVIL BY BENDIS/MALEEV ULTIMATE COLLECTIONS. If you like good comics, then I highly recommend picking these up; even if you're not a DAREDEVIL fan.
Now, the legendary creative team returns to the Man Without Fear in this special 8-issue limited series which tells an untold tale of Matt Murdock. When Murdock's greatest secret remains a mystery -- there's only one man who can uncover it, and that man is Ben Urich, investigative journalist.
A journey begins that will take us to the deepest, seediest depths of the Marvel Universe's underworld, and Hell's Kitchen itself.
A must-read, Third Eye Faithful, snag yourself a copy of this one this Wednesday.

NON-HUMANS #1 DEBUTS FROM IMAGE COMICS THIS WEDNESDAY FEATURING THE AMAZING ARTWORK OF WHILCE PORTACIO... AND KILLER TOYS FROM OUTER SPACE. SERIOUSLY. AND IT RULES!
Here's a new one coming out from IMAGE this Wednesday that caught my eye, and I'm glad it did: 'cause it freakin' kicks!
NON-HUMANS features the artwork of the incredibly talented WHILCE PORTACIO (you may remember him from WETWORKS back in the day, and most recently, he did some awesome stuff on the Jason Aaron HULK run), and tells a fantastic sci-fi horror story that's one part TOY STORY and one part Ridley Scott's ALIEN.
Picture this: Los Angeles, 2041 -- It's 26 years after a NASA probe brought back a strange disease causing many of our familiar toy-like objects to come to life. This is a new world order where cute and fearsome creatures fight for their right to exist in a world that fears them.... Blade Runner meets Toy Story, all the way.
And, some of these sentient toy creatures... are pretty damn vicious in how they're going to protect their existence.
This one was a blast, Third Eye Faithful, great art, with a great story, snag yourself a copy this Wednesday!

ROTWORLD OFFICIALLY BEGINS IN THIS WEDNESDAY'S ANIMAL MAN #13 AND SWAMP THING #13! JUMP ON BOARD ONE OF OUR MOST ANTICIPATED DC NEW 52 STORYLINES THIS YEAR!
CTHULHU MONSTER VERSIONS OF THE DCU? YES!
We are completely, and totally devout fans of both Scott Snyder's SWAMP THING and Jeff Lemire's ANIMAL MAN. Soooooooo, when we saw that these two books were building towards a crossover.... you could say that made us just a tad bit happy. I mean, these are two of the BEST books in the NEW 52 right now, and to have the two working together to tell an even bigger story? That's huge!
The saga of ROTWORLD ties into the concepts of the RED and the GREEN, the two primal energy sources that both Animal Man and Swamp Thing tap into to channel their powers.
See, the Green represents plant life, the Red represents animals, and human beings, and the Rot... the Rot represents death, and unknown horrors from beyond the veil of sleep. Other dimensional terrors that have one mission in mind: the decay and destruction of all life.
So, yeah, rot-monsters? Pretty bad things. And, now, after poking it's head into both series a little bit here and there, the Rot is making it's full force attack on the DCU.
The story will be a duel narrative, one which showcases the present day with both Alec Holland and Buddy Baker's loved ones fighting for their lives against the rot monsters that have entered the DCU, and then a secondary narrative that shows Animal Man and Swamp Thing falling deeper, and deeper into the Red, and waking up in a future where the Rot has won.
A future where everything is infected, every character not connected to the Red or the Green, is a slimy, shambling rot-monsters. And, you know what this means? That's right: a legion of rot-monster versions of DCU icons like BATMAN, SUPERMAN, GREEN LANTERN and more.
A post-apocalyptic DCU future? Cool monsters? Great storytelling from two of the sharpest writers in the game today? And, how can we forget the amazing art of Yanick Paquette on SWAMP THING and Travel Foreman on ANIMAL MAN?
Folks: this storyline ranks up there with the upcoming DEATH OF THE FAMILY and RISE OF THE THIRD ARMY as a DC NEW 52 to follow religiously!
Trust us: it WILL rule.
You can jump on fresh with ANIMAL MAN #12 and SWAMP THING #12, which are the first prologues for ROTWORLD, and then catch up with this week's ANIMAL MAN #13 and SWAMP THING #13.

CARNAGE RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY, AND HE'S BRINGING PAIN AND MISERY TO VENOM & THE SCARLET SPIDER IN MINIMUM CARNAGE ALPHA!
This is it, Third Eye Faithful. Many of you grew up in the same generation of comic readers as I did: the '90s. And, many of you guys remember the now-legendary MAXIMUM CARNAGE crossover that introduced us to one of the raddest Spidey villains ever: CARNAGE.
Now, the writer of recent CARNAGE minis, CARNAGE USA, and CARNAGE FAMILY FEUD, as well as the writer behind the totally awesome SCARLET SPIDER ongoing series, CHRIS YOST, will be bringing us a storyline that's totally worthy as a successor to MAXIMUM CARNAGE!
Minimum Carnage kicks off in this Wednesday's MINIMUM CARNAGE ALPHA #1 one-shot, which features Carnage back... and bigger than before.
And, he's leaving the worst trail of murder that the United States has ever seen, as he wreaks havoc, and re-asserts himself as the most homicidal Marvel villain to exist.
The Scarlet Spider and VENOM must unite forces to hunt for Carnage and end his reign of terror, but their hunt will take both heroes to a place that you'll never believe.
We gotta tell ya, the last couple CARNAGE series have been dynamite, and this MINIMUM CARNAGE crossover is looking to be just as good, if not better.

HELL YEAH VOL.1 LAST DAYS ON EARTHS ARRIVES FROM IMAGE THIS WEDNESDAY FOR ONLY $9.99! SNAG A COPY OF THIS ULTRA-VIOLENT TAKE ON THE SUPERHERO GENRE & FIND OUT WHY WE'RE IN LOVE WITH IT!
We're huge fans of this new series from IMAGE COMICS that debuted this past Winter, and we're so stoked to see it dropping in trade paperback this Wednesday. Why? 'Cause now we can share it with a whole new crew of peeps who haven't yet read it!
Seriously though: this is a great read, folks. I mean, picture a modern-day super-charged ultra-violent KILL BILL kind of take on Jack Kirby's superhero madness, and that sums up HELL YEAH. It's like WATCHMEN for the KICK-ASS generation, and we're loving every freakin' second of it.
What's the scoop? Check this: today is the worst day of Benjamin Day's life. He's the poster child for the first generation raised in a world where superheroes exist, but he wants nothing to do with super-anything! When versions of himself from throughout the multiverse begin showing up dead, this one-man crisis of infinite selves tears open twenty-year old secrets. Ben's now forced into the super-society he's long denied.
Folks, this book crackles with raw comic book energy. You want fun? This is big ideas, bigger explosions, and enough blood and guts to keep things interesting. The world that Keatinge and Szymanowicz are crafting here is compelling, and fascinating, as super-groups form like garage bands, and a generation of kids growing up in the shadows of men who walk like gods would do anything to just go back to the way things once were.
For $10 -- you can't go wrong on this one, Third Eye Faithful. Snag yourself a copy this Wednesday, and find out why this was one of our favorites to come out this year!

LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT #1 KICKS OFF THIS WEDNESDAY FEATURING STAND-ALONE BATMAN STORIES FROM THE BEST IN COMICS!
ISSUE #1 FEATURES TV SERIES "LOST" co-creator DAMON LINDELOF and ANIMAL MAN / SWEET TOOTH writer / artist JEFF LEMIRE on art!

Okay: this is freakin' cool. LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT is reincarnated, and damn, you know how DC is making it work? They're sticking to the same killer formula that the series originally had: all-star creative teams telling short one-shot, or two to three part storylines outside of normal BATMAN continuity. As many of you know, LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT was responsible for many awesome BATMAN stories, including now-legendary (no pun intended) arcs like PREY, GOTHIC, and VENOM.
So, now, LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT has returned, and they're starting things off with a BANG! LOST co-creator DAMON LINDELOF pairs up with JEFF LEMIRE (ANIMAL MAN, SWEET TOOTH) to tell a brutal tale of trust and self-perception in "The Butler Did It."
The storyline is set in Batman's past, and has a simple premise: Batman's on patrol, and stumbles across a crime scene that mirrors the fateful alleyway mugging that killed his parents. From there, everything begins to twist and turn, and hot damn, it gets good.
Lemire's art is such a quirky yet perfect compliment to this, and the two work together fantastic. You also get a good dose of notorious Batman rogues, like Freeze and the Joker.
If you want to just read some great one-shot BATMAN stories, this is it! Imagine a slightly darker, more adult BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES (the original), in terms of kick-ass one-shot BATMAN tales that remain timeless.

HARVEST #3 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING THIS GORY AWESOME NEW IMAGE SERIES!
HARVEST is a MUST-READ, Third Eye Faithful. This impressive little IMAGE series has been quickly climbing up my to-read stack of new books, and I gotta tell you: issue #3 seals it, this is a HIT!
Harvest is a grisly, fantastic little read about a surgeon who finds himself wanted by a black market surgical squad, the FBI, and more... and the only person who's going to watch his back is an outcast Yakuza assassin. And, all of these things? They're not going to stop him from getting to his next patient.
What's HARVEST all about? Human traffickers. Rogue medical teams. Yakuza run organ mills, and a highly intelligent 6-year old with a drug problem. This is Dr. Benjamin Dane's nightmare. His only way out? He's got to reclaim organs placed into some very powerful people.
If Dexter, ER and the comic series 100 Bullets were dropped into a blender, you'd get HARVEST. A tale of medical grade revenge.
GET IT !

AVX: VERSUS #6 -- The final issue in what's been one of the best tie-in series we've seen! The fights, and nothing but the fights! It all goes out with a bang.... SCARLET WITCH VS. HOPE!
The AVX: VS series has been one of the best compliments to a main event title that we've seen in a LONG time. While most tie-in mini-series tend to be unnecessary, VERSUS serves a crucial purpose of exploring the ins and outs of each fight, as well as delivering clear-cut winners and losers -- something you don't see in comics that often.
Plus, lets be real: it's a book of our favorite characters beating the hell out of each other, with some of our favorite creators making it look totally freakin' awesome! How can we not love it?
This week's issue #6 concludes the AVX: VS miniseries alongside the main AVX series, and with it, we're getting a fight we've all been waiting for: SCARLET WITCH vs. HOPE.
Folks: this is going to rule.
Wanna get caught up? We've got issues 1-6 in stock now to get you caught up to current.

ROBYN HOOD #1 -- ZENESCOPE, THE PUBLISHERS OF WONDERLAND, GRIMM FAIRY TALES AND MORE BRING A NEW SPIN TO THE LEGEND OF ROBIN HOOD!
Zenescope knows how to bring a dark edge to the fairy-tale and folklore classics from way back, and their new spin on ROBYN HOOD is no exception, folks. This one looks pretty darn bad-ass.
A brand new series that reinvents the classic tale of action adventure in green, the new ROBYN HOOD series starts in the lands of Myst where a tyrant rules the city of Bree wtih an iron fist leaving its citizens living in fear and terror. But all hope is not lost when one man takes the first steps to finding the one person who might save them all.
Meanwhile on Earth, Robyn has had a troubled life for many year since her mother's death. In and out of foster homes, Robyn now finds herself transferred to a high class high school filled with the wealthiest of the wealthy. But when Robyn crosses one of the popular kids, she will learn first hand the extent of torture they are willing to go to against those who transgressed against them... and, Third Eye Faithful, the end result is a new kind of Robyn Hood who does a little bit more than just stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.
If you're a fan of the WONDERLAND series, or the other Zenescope titles, you're gonna love this one.

DETECTIVE COMICS #13 KICKS OFF A NEW STORY ARC WITH "CHEW" writer JOHN LAYMAN coming on board with "EMPEROR PENGUIN" Chapter 1.
Okay, folks, we've been pretty big on the recent run of DETECTIVE COMICS in the NEW 52, but it's still been beat out by our favorites: BATMAN and BATMAN AND ROBIN. So, when we saw that the writer of CHEW, JOHN LAYMAN, would be coming on to take over the writing reigns on this series with issue #13 -- we knew this book would be climbing it's way back up into our favorites again.
A new arc begins with Layman coming on board, and folks, it's KICK-ASS. Layman does a great job of bringing his unique style of storytelling to the world of BATMAN, as he kicks off the first chapter of a storyline that could ONLY be called: EMPEROR PENGUIN.
Featuring a special guest appearance by the one and only NIGHTWING!

DANGER CLUB #4 DROPS THIS WEDNESDAY CONTINUING THIS THIRD EYE FAVORITE IMAGE SERIES ABOUT A WORLD WITHOUT HEROES AND THE SIDEKICKS WHO'RE LEFT TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES
We've been HUGE fans of DANGER CLUB here at Third Eye, and ahve been championing the series since it's debut. So, needless to say, we're pretty happy to see issue #4 hitting our shelves this week!
What is DANGER CLUB? Danger Club's the story of a world where all of it's superheroes venture out into space to fight one of those cosmic menaces as they often do... and don't come back. Presumed dead, the world begins to fall into disarray without any heroes to protect it, and the former sidekicks of the fallen heroes left to find their way without the mentorship of the heroes.
Now, teenagers with the powers of gods are battling it out, some taking a darker path, others trying to hold everything together... and the threat that took out the heroes? It's still out there.
If you're into stuff like IRREDEEMABLE, KICK-ASS, or the BOYS, then you're going to LOVE DANGER CLUB.
Imagine an ultra-violent, uber-bloody riff on a classic Wolfman/Perez Titans tale, and that sums up the tone and feel perfectly.
Wanna get caught up? We've got issues 1-3 in stock now to get you current with this week's issue #4.

ALAN MOORE'S FASHION BEAST #2 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING THE TWISTED POST-APOCALYPTIC RE-IMAGING OF BEAUTY AND THE BEAST by ALAN MOORE!
You know, when the legendary ALAN MOORE does something new, we tend to take notice, and with FASHION BEAST, he's delivering another trippy dose of surrealism, and out-of-this-world darker-than-dark sci-fi awesomeness.
Paired up with a concept originally developed by the manager of THE SEX PISTOLS, Malcom McLaren, Moore re-imagines the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast in a dark, dystopian future where fashion houses control the city, and the dividing lines between classes run deep.
In issue #2, Doll doesn't seem to fit in anywhere, and when fate seems to wash her in the direction of the mysterious unseen benefactor, Celestine, she discovers that the all-too glitzy fashion world with it's glamour and excess is home to a brand of horror that the self-obsessed ignore until it's too late.
A disturbing look at consumer culture, and future sci-fi, FASHION BEAST is a blast, Third Eye Faithful, and if you're a fan of Moore's past works like NEONOMICON, LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN, V FOR VENDETTA and more, then you'll love this one.

DEATH: THE DELUXE EDITION HC -- THE ENTIRETY OF NEIL GAIMAN'S DEATH SERIES ARE COLLECTED HERE IN THIS KILLER HARDCOVER FOR ONLY $29.99!
You know, I think the only thing we might love even more than Neil Gaiman's THE SANDMAN series, is his spin-off, DEATH. I mean, c'mon, we're children of the '80s and '90s here, Third Eye Faithful, and we can't deny it, we totally grew up crushing on cute goth girls just like Dream's sister.
But, there's a lot more to it than that, the DEATH stories are so damn good, so well-written, it's hard to not be partial to them. I mean, small doses and all, but man, does Gaiman bring this character to life, or what?
So, you can bet we'll be adding one of these kick-ass hardcovers to our own collection, which features the entirety of the Neil Gaiman DEATH comics in one slick hardcover for only $30.
This hardcover collects DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING 1-3, DEATH: THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE 1-3, plus, stuff that's never been before-reprinted, like the 'Death Talks about Life' AIDS pamphlet, stories from VERTIGO: WINTER'S EDGE and THE SANDMAN: ENDLESS NIGHTS, the short story THE WHEEL from the 9-11 tribute book, SANDMAN issues #8 and #20, and even art from the DEATH GALLERY.

EPIC KILL VOL.1 TRADE PAPERBACK ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY DELIVERING A KICK-ASS BLEND OF SHAW BROS. KUNG FU AWESOMENESS, KILL BILL REVENGE MADNESS, AND ALL AROUND GRINDHOUSE GOODNESS!
Another IMAGE favorite that started this past Summer is the uber-bloody, totally over-the-top awesomeness that is EPIC KILL. Raffaele Ienco brings this thing together in a major way, telling the tale of an eighteen-year old super assassin named Song who's out to avenge the death of her parents.
The big problem here though? The man who killed her parents just so happens to be the President of the United States.
Trained since childhood to take revenge, Song's hands and feet are deadlier than any sword or gun you could hand her, and Ienco demonstrates that with his kick-ass art style. Song has no problem cutting jugular veins with a chop of her hand, or disemboweling an enemy with a well-placed kick. I gotta tell ya: it's pretty bad-ass.
If you're a fan of films like KILL BILL, or old school grindhouse revenge like THRILLER, then you will love EPIC KILL.

BEFORE WATCHMEN: RORSCHACH #2 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY AS WRITER BRIAN AZZARELLO AND ARTIST LEE BERMEJO MAKE THIS ONE A MUST-READ! FROM THE CREATIVE TEAM WHO BROUGHT YOU "JOKER", "LUTHOR: MAN OF STEEL", and "BATMAN: NOEL"
You know, it may be predictable, but damn: Rorschach is AWESOME. I mean, of course, you're going to get a killer read with one of the most memorable characters from Alan Moore's now-classic WATCHMEN, but: Azzarello and Bermejo really take it to a brand new level, and we're totally impressed.
Following the days leading up to Rorschach's complete breakdown as we saw him at the very beginning of WATCHMEN, this is a fascinating peek into the soul of a man who's self-destructing as the story goes on.
We're loving the look that Bermejo brings to the book, and Azzarello is taking the story to some very dark places.

FERALS #8 -- AVATAR PRESS PROVES AGAIN WHY THEY'RE THE BEST IN HORROR COMICS WITH THIS BLOODY, VICIOUS TAKE ON WEREWOLVES!
Last week we showed STITCHED some love, and folks, this week, we're showing another AVATAR PRESS horror series some love with FERALS. This fantastic, and brutal take on the werewolf story has had us hooked since issue #1, and we thought we'd take a moment to remind you guys why we're loving the book as much as we are.
Meet Dale Chesnutt. He's a pawn in a deadly game, and he still doesn't see the people moving the pieces. With the FBI whispering in his ear and a growing feral ferocity changing him in ways he doesn't understand, he soon discovers that the Feral threat is much wider spread than they thought. And when he comes face-to-face with several full blown Ferals, the time comes to discover for whom he is fighting.
Ferals is an all-out, go-for-the-throat take on werewolves, and it's freakin' great. These werewolves don't give a damn about the moon, they're not afraid of silver, and there's no curses here.. no, these are savage killers who relish in the brutality they reign on mankind, and Avatar Press doesn't shy away from the gore and grue when telling their tale.

STAFF PICKS
STEVE: HAPPY! #1 - Morrison. Robertson. Image. I mean, c'mon, do the math, folks. This has GREAT written all over it. Seriously though, with THE BOYS ending, you know you need something to feed the dark side of your comic collection.
TRISH: HAPPY! #1 - I love it when a comic can surprise me, and this one did a great job of that. Really great stuff!
TORMA:  TALON #0 - Scott Snyder and Guillem March do a great job of not only making the Talon that got away interesting and compelling, but also continuing what was started in the Court!
SHAUN: HAPPY! #1  -  Grant Morrison is absolutely crazy, and that is EXACTLY why I continue reading his comics. HAPPY! is bizarre in so many wonderful ways!
RYAN: HAPPY! #1  - This is going to be a great series. Morrison and Robertson together with a story of a hitman who begins seeing an imaginary horse.
JOHN: TALON #0 - Scott Snyder has delivered again. This is a fantastic new character and I cannot wait to see how this series progresses!
