THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE FOR WEDNESDAY 7/29/09

BLACKEST NIGHT CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH BLACKEST NIGHT: TALES OF THE CORPS #3

Blackest Night has only been happening for two weeks, and it's already the biggest single story of the summer. We can't get enough. You guys can't get enough. And, I don't think Geoff Johns can get enough, as we are completely stoked on everything that's come out so far. This Wednesday, the origins of the different Lantern Corps are further explored, and revealed in the third and final installment of Blackest Night: Tales of the Corps #3.

From the killer Mongul storyline in issue #1 to the revelations being dropped about the Indigo Lanterns (Compassion=Killing?). This three issue limited being written by Blackest Night masterminds, Geoff Johns and Peter J. Tomasi, has been one heck of a solid read. It is NOT just filler tie-in stuff, but something that actually adds to the story being told.

DARK REIGNING BLOOD: NEW AVENGERS #55, SECRET WARRIORS #6, DARK REIGN: HAWKEYE #4,DARK REIGN: SINISTER SPIDER-MAN #2, & MORE!

Dark Reign hits big this Wednesday with a whole slew of killer Dark Reign titles. First off, the biggest, is Marvel's flagship book, New Avengers, with NEW AVENGERS #55! And, now that the Sorcerer Supreme story arc is over, it's onto a brand new story arc which not only picks up on threads left over from the "Who is the Sorcerer Supreme" arc, but takes things in a whole new direction. And, with this new arc, we get a brand new artist to the series with Stuart Immonen, the man behind the whacked out pencils of Nextwave, and Ultimate Spidey. To be honest, I wasn't totally feeling Billy Tan on the book, and I'm kind of glad to see some fresh new styles getting put onto one of Marvel's biggest books. The new story arc is about one of the Hood's cronies figuring out a way to drain the New Avengers powers. This one should be an awesome story for all of us who love those hoardes of B-Level villains, and the Hood. We're stoked! Click here to read a preview of NEW AVENGERS #55

Plus, also arriving this week is Secret Warriors #6, and in case you've been sleeping on it, Secret Warriors is one of Marvel's BEST series coming out currently. Jonathan Hickman is going to be one of the next big superstar writers, we guarantee it, and he's doing some amazing things with Secret Warriors. Not to mention, Stefano Caselli's art is the perfect match to Hickman's story. This is the perfect espionage comic, and it channels old school Jim Steranko madness with a new school energy. Click here to read more aboutSECRET WARRIORS #6!

And, ontop of those two heavy hitters, we've got a nice assortment of solid Dark Reign tie-ins and limited series hitting the racks this Wednesday. First off is the rock solid new DARK REIGN: SINISTER SPIDER-MAN #2 which features everyone's favorite (un)friendly neighborhood Venom wreaking havoc where-ever he goes. Chris Bachalo's surreal art makes this one a must for any self-respecting Marvel fan.

We've also got DARK REIGN: HAWKEYE #4 hitting the racks this week, which features everyone's favorite homicidal assassin, Bullseye, trouncing about town as the Dark Avenger Hawkeye. This one's written by the author of the critically acclaimed Vertigo series, The Losers (soon to be a motion picture), and pencilled by the always solid Tom Raney. It's a bloody deconstruction of the superhero archetype, and the whole Bullseye as Hawkeye thing really plays up well. I mean, in the first issue.. he puts a pen in a woman's eye who asks for an autograph... how can this not be good?

Finally, rounding out the assortment of Dark Reign books hitting this week, there'sDARK REIGN: LETHAL LEGION #2, which really impressed us with the first issue. Basically, it's the rejects of the Dark Avengers. The supervillains who didn't make the cut, and who's helping lead them to victory in their revenge against Norman Osborn? Wonder Man? Say what? Yeah, it's solid stuff, folks. I mean, c'mon.. The Grim Reaper... Absorbing Man... Man-Ape.. it's a must.

And, then we have DARK REIGN: THE HOOD #3, which features one of Third Eye's favorite villains to make it big in the 21st century. Lets face it, the Hood is like the Spider-man of supervillains. He's the everyman. He's the villain we can almost see a little of ourselves in. Okay, don't think we're sociopaths here at Third Eye or anything, but what we're saying is we really enjoy the street-level, down to earth approach to a bigger than life supervillain with the Hood. The limited series has been a great entry point into explaining the character, his motivations, and what his place in the Marvel U is.

STUFF OF LEGEND #1 - "TOY STORY" MEETS "SAVING PRIVATE RYAN"! THIS ONE LOOKS AWESOME!

Stuff Of Legend is one of those independently published books that is going to surely fly under a lot of people's radars. And, that's a real shame, because this book is freaking awesome! After hearing some buzz on the title, I got a preview copy from the publishers, and I was blown away. This is a dark, dark book... but at the same time, isn't a dark, dark book. It's really hard to pin down the feel.. and you know what, be it music, film, or comics.. not being able to categorize something always means it's a quality piece of work.

Stuff of Legend is set in 1944, and as the allied forces wage war overseas, there's a war going on in a small boy's bedroom back in Brooklyn, New York. An army of toys will defend their human master against the Boogeyman, and his army of bitter, lost and forgotten toys. Now, we know.. it's toys fighting toys.. but, THIS BOOK IS VIOLENT AS HELL. The unique art style combined with a visceral sense of combat when the toys throw down, along with some really interesting characterization of each of the different toys.. it all combines into one very appealing package.

So, do yourselves a favor, folks, and check this one out this Wednesday. It's a small press title, and we have a feeling it's going to be one of those sleeper hits that blow up after everyone's already sold out.. so make sure you get your's while you can! BATMAN: REBORN CONTINUES THIS WEEK IN THE PAGES OF DETECTIVE COMICS #855 *BATWOMAN PT 2*

All right, I know, I know, I've been raving about how great DC's recharge of the Batman books has been for a while now. I'm sure a lot of you guys already get the point that I think these are some of the finest superhero reads hitting the shelves. And, lets face it, everyone has a soft spot for Batman, Gotham City, and all of his deranged rogues. But, I have to say.. Detective Comics has been one of the best of the new Batman titles. This is the book that features Batwoman, and the art style is AMAZING. We still have plenty of issue #854 in stock, which is the first issue in the current direction of Detective featuring Batwoman.

What is making this series so great? Well, first off, Greg Rucka is delivering some incredible storytelling. Very gritty, street-level writing that takes the character into a very hard-edged direction. But, what really makes this series pop is the artist, J.H Williams III and his unique approach to the storytelling. The art is very fragmented, and harsh when Batwoman is in Batwoman mode, but when she's in her secret identity.. it's much more soft, and muted. It really enhances the story.

Outside of Batman & Robin, this is my favorite Bat-book right now. If you didn't check out the first issue, give it a go this week. If you did, then we know you'll be snagging up the second issue follow-up. Click here to read more aboutDETECTIVE COMICS #855 *BATWOMAN PT 2*

DARK X-MEN CONTINUES THIS WEEK IN DARK X-MEN: BEGINNING #2!

The Dark X-Men saga that Marvel's been spinning this summer has been a fantastic companion piece to Dark Avengers. It's definitely the creative shot in the arm that the X-Books have needed to make them feel more tied in with the rest of the Marvel Universe. Plus, with Matt Fraction (who is by far one of our favorite writers working for Marvel right now) heading up the main storyline, this whole line has been very strong storywise.

This week, at Third Eye, we've got the second issue of DARK X-MEN: THE BEGINNING #2 arriving to continue the Dark X-Men storylines. This three issue limited series is exploring the secrets and mysteries behind the Dark X-Men team that Osborn has put together. The first issue was a rock solid read, and we do still have plenty in stock still, so if you need it, we've got it. What's Emma Frost's dark motivation? Where do Cloak and Dagger fit into the scheme of things? And, Dark Beast... we haven't seen him in quite some time, so it's cool to see him in the mix as well.

BATMAN: YEAR ONE ARTIST DAVID MAZZUCCHELLI'S ASTERIOS POLYP AVAILABLE THIS WEDNESDAY AT THIRD EYE... THE NEXT GREAT GRAPHIC NOVEL! FEATURED ON G4'S FRESH INK BY BLAIR BUTLER. CHECK THIS OUT!

There's always those one of a kind stories that surface from time to time, and they just seem like they come out of nowhere. David Mazzucchelli, the artist who worked with FRANK MILLER on BATMAN YEAR ONE, has done a lot of work since Batman Year One, but Year One has always been his defining moment. Until now, that is. This little gem, while just now beginning to receive tons of critical acclaim, has received little to no hype in a lot of comic book circles. And, now, after a well-deserved plug on G4, we feel that this book is getting the attention it deserves.

Asterios Polyp is a story about an architect, who has never had one of his designs built. He's a depressing, and from the start, despicable character. Smug, and lecherous, you really don't think you're going to like this guy... and as you're pulled deeper into his seedy world of bittersweet yesterdays... you start to feel for the guy. The graphic novel takes you through the early days of his life into his later years, and you get to see him develop as a character and person through these times.

The artwork is phenomenal, and Mazzucchelli does some amazing things with simple strokes of the pen to convey the emotion of this story. All we can say is this one is a solid read, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone who can get into just plain old fashioned comics. For those of you who might think it sounds pretentious, trust us, that's the beauty of this book.. it's not just some wanna-be arthouse sensation.. it's a true blue graphic novel infused with tons of feeling. FANTASTIC FOUR #569 *MASTERS OF DOOM PT 4* CONTINUES NOW THAT THE MARQUIS OF DEATH HAS BEEN REVEALED AS CLYDE WINCHAM FROM MARK MILLAR'S 1985! MILLAR'S THREE-WAY CROSSOVER BETWEEN 1985, FANTASTIC FOUR, AND OLD MAN LOGAN IS REACHING IT'S BOILING POINT! THE CONCLUSION TO MASTERS OF DOOM IS HERE!

Mark Millar has been quite the name for the past two years. I mean, okay, the guy has a long track record of amazing comic storytelling. From his classic WOLVERINE: ENEMY OF THE STATE to his communist Superman tale RED SON, he's been weaving some incredible tales for a while now. But, the thing that's really had us hooked has been his work on OLD MAN LOGAN, FANTASTIC FOUR, and his limited series from last year, 1985. What's really intriguing, is back when all three of these began, Millar had gone on record as saying that the three will be connecting in som way and he's building a continuity between the three titles. Now, for a while.. we could only see little clues and tidbits as to how the books connected, a character's name on the map of OLD MAN LOGAN, a mention of Sue and Reed being lost in the time-stream.. ect ect. However, in the pages of Millar's MASTERS OF DOOM storyline, exploring the mentors of Dr. Doom... we just recently learned that Clyde Wyncham, the real-world mutant responsible for the massacre in 1985 IS the Marquis of Death, Doom's mentor. And, now, we're on the edge of our seat for two reasons: the first is that we want to see how this arc of FF concludes, and the second is we want to see if or how this will somehow connect or explain the events of OLD MAN LOGAN. We can't say for fact what is going to happen, but so far... it's been one hell of a ride! Click hereto see a preview of FANTASTIC FOUR #569 *MASTERS OF DOOM PT 4*

GREEN LANTERN: FIRST FLIGHT ANIMATED FEATURE DVD AVAILABLE AT THIRD EYE THIS TUESDAY!

DC has done an amazing job with their animated films, and this time is no exception, with the brand new GREEN LANTERN: FIRST FLIGHT animated feature film exploring the story of Hal Jordan. Now, we haven't seen the full version yet, but judging from the trailers, and the footage we have seen, this exploration of who Green Lantern is, and what his role in the DCU is looks to be a solid addition to your DC Animated Film library. We'll have a limited amount of these babies in stock come Tuesday. Click here to watch the trailer!

FABLES WRITER BILL WILLINGHAM COMES ABOARD JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #29 THIS WEDNESDAY TO KICK OFF AN EXCITING NEW DIRECTION FOR THE SERIES! A GREAT JUMPING ON POINT

This is an exciting one, folks. Justice Society of America has had a long, rock-solid run of being a great superhero book. From the big relaunch of it as JSA back in the late '90s with James Robinson and Batman Begins/Dark Knight writer David Goyer penning it, to the long run Geoff Johns (Blackest Night head honcho) has had on both JSA and Justice Society of America, it's always been a consistent good read.

Now, we're not gonna lie, when JSA is good, it's really good, but when it's bad.. it's pretty bad. The fill-in issues have been a huge bummer, and to be honest, we feel that JSA is only as good as the creative team behind it. This is why we're stoked to see new blood coming onboard with the writer of critically acclaimed Vertigo series, FABLES, Bill Willingham picking up the reigns on Justice Society.

It's going to be very exciting to see Willingham's approach to the ultimate "legacy" superhero team, and because JSA has always been a place for more unconventional characters... it means he'll have pretty much open season to do what he pleases in making the book awesome. This, my friends, is a true recipe for a good superhero funny book.

So, if you've been looking to come aboard a good DCU team book, then give this week's Justice Society of America #29 a go, as it's the perfect jumping on point with a fresh new creative team to get you started. Click here to read more about JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #29!

ULTIMATUM #5 BRINGS JEPH LOEB AND DAVID FINCH'S ULTIMATUM EVENT TO A BLOODY CONCLUSION AS THE FIELD IS SET FOR A NEW DIRECTION IN THE ULTIMATE UNIVERSE!

David Finch's gorgeous, ultra-detailed pencils have made ULTIMATUM into a top tier must-read for us here at Third Eye. While we're not always the biggest fans of Jeph Loeb's storytelling, we have to admit... putting him in charge of destroying an entire universe is a pretty good spot to be. And, we have to say, we have not been disappointed one bit with the carnage displayed in ULTIMATUM. This limited series is the book that is killing off Ultimate characters left and right, and setting the stage for the new direction of the Ultimate Universe this summer (which is going to be overseen by Kick-Ass and Old Man Logan writer, MARK MILLAR).

You want bigger than life, old school comic book fun with an ultraviolent new school twist? You want larger than life artwork, and widescreen destruction? Ultimatum delivers.

And now, finally, this Wednesday, we get to see the horrifying conclusion as everything comes crashing down. The secrets of Ultimatum revealed, and a peek at what's to come. Miss out on the earlier issues? Fear not, we have all four of the previous issues well stocked here at Third Eye for you to catch up on 'em. Clickhere to read more about ULTIMATUM #5!

BRIAN WOOD'S NORTHLANDERS VOLUME 2 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY! BEAUTIFUL, BLOODY VIKING MADNESS THE WAY WE LOVE IT!

Brian Wood is another of our big favorite writers right now. And, his ongoing viking series, Northlanders, has been one of our big Vertigo favorites this year. He delivers the bloody brutality you'd expect from the Viking era, but in a very accessible way to readers. Well-crafted stories that pull you in, but deliver pulse-pounding, skull-splitting Viking madness... this is where it's at. Plus, the artwork is AMAZING, and we've yet to see an issue yet where the tone of the art does not fit perfectly with the story. If you haven't yet checked out Northlanders.. give volume 1 a shot, it's only $9.99 for the first 8 issues in trade paperback form. If you're already hooked, then guess what.. it's time for volume 2 this week, guys! Clickhere to read a Publisher's Weekly piece on the book.

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE FOR 7/15/09! BLACKEST NIGHT BEGINS!

BLACKEST WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK AS BLACKEST NIGHT #1 ARRIVES AT THIRD EYE COMICS! BUY BLACKEST NIGHT #1, GET A FREE BLACK LANTERN RING THIS WEDNESDAY!

It's the big one this week, folks. That's right, the biggest summer event this year is by far DC Comics's Blackest Night. You better believe this one is going to be awesome. I mean, just the prologue alone blew me the hell away! And, now, it's finally time for the official first issue of this amazing event. Geoff Johns has been laying the foundations for nearly three years, and the closer we got, the better things looked. Now, that we're finally here, it looks like we're going to get a summer event that follows through in everything it's promising. Johns has gone on record saying there will be NO delays in between issues, and that he and Peter Tomasi (Green Lantern Corps writer) will be overseeing the entire thing. Hell, most of the one-shots and tie-ins are written by Johns, if that tells you anything.

What's the deal with Blackest Night? It's the arrival of the Black Lanterns, which represent DEATH. And, it's going to be every dead DC Universe character you can think of being risen from their graves into horrifying, mangled versions of themselves as Black Lanterns. Now, does this sound awesome or what? We're talking every bag of bones you can think of, from Pa Kent to Earth-2 Superman.. It's going to be off the hook! Click here to read the wikipedia entry about BLACKEST NIGHT! Cool tidbit about BLACKEST NIGHT? The concept was originally created by Alan Moore in an old one-off story way back in the day, and Johns picked up on the idea at the end of his Sinestro Corps War arc to take things further.

And, in the words of the late, great Billy Mays.. but wait, there's more! Every copy of BLACKEST NIGHT #1 you purchase here at Third Eye will come with a FREE Black Lantern ring! This is one of the coolest promo items we've seen in a very long time for a comic, and the demand for the ring alone has got everyone whipped up into a frenzy. So, while we have plenty, make sure you reserve your copy of Blackest Night to ensure you get your free ring, or just get in here on Wednesday, and snag a copy of BLACKEST NIGHT to get your free ring!

So, the question is, Third Eye faithful, are you ready for the dead to rise this Wednesday? We are!

BLACKEST WEDNESDAY: BLACKEST NIGHT: TALES OF THE CORPS #1 & TITANS #15 *BLACKEST NIGHT* EXPAND ON THE MYSTERIOUS BLACK LANTERNS!

And, before we move onto all the other awesomeness hitting our racks this Wednesday, we can't forget about one of the key Blackest Night tie-ins, BLACKEST NIGHT: TALES OF THE CORPS #1. This special three issue limited series explores the mysteries and secrets behind the Lanterns of Blackest Night. So, whether you've been curious about the motives behind a certain Red Lantern, or the creations of Orange Lantern Blume, this one will be exploring everything. And, best of all, it's being written by the current Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps writers, Geoff Johns and Peter Tomasi. So, you know that the story is going to be absolutely on point. The preview pages look great, and whenever Johns does his "Tales of the Corps"-style stories, they're always spot on. The big deal though is how all of these intriguing characters fit into Blackest Night, and what tidbits are dropped as to who Black Lanterns will be! Click here for a preview of BLACKEST NIGHT: TALES OF THE CORPS #1

The other Blackest Night tie-in this Wednesday is TITANS #15, which features the return of TEMPEST (you may remember him as Aqualad).. why is this a big deal? Well, one of the confirmed BLACK LANTERNS is none other than AQUAMAN! And, from the description of the solicits, the last page of this issue will leave us all buzzing like that hive of hornets you used to throw rocks at as a kid. Click here to read a preview of TITANS #15 *BLACKEST NIGHT* (note: this is a CBR preview, so the link may not redirect properly)

DARK AVENGERS #7 *DARK X-MEN* NORMAN OSBORN'S TEAM OF DARK X-MEN BUTT HEADS WITH HIS DARK AVENGERS THIS WEDNESDAY! ALL CHAPTERS OF THE DARK X-MEN SAGA CURRENTLY STILL IN STOCK!

The DARK X-MEN saga has been one of this summer's exciting Marvel storylines. The whole Dark Avengers thing as a whole has been a fantastic, and solid read, and the expansion into a team of mutants working for Osborn has had us coming back for more and more. And, with Dark Avengers, pretty much being the flagship book of both DARK REIGN, and yes, the Marvel Universe, of course, you know that's where the big stuff is going to be going down with the Dark X-Men arc. After learning the motivations of Osborn's team of mutants in last week's DARK X-MEN: BEGINNINGS, we're pretty intrigued to see where the story will be taking us next. And, it doesn't hurt that rising star Matt Fraction is helping Bendis out on this issue (as the DARK X-MEN arc is pretty much Fraction's baby, and trust us, folks, Fraction is another one of those guys who's right on the cusp of breaking out as one of the major talents in the industry right now, he's been wowing us for years on everything from Invincible Iron Man and Iron Fist to lesser known stuff like Five Fists of Science and Casanova), and we also get some more of those rock solid Mike Deodato pencils.

Anyway, things are getting pretty serious in the Dark Avengers camp, and the Sentry is really beginning to question Osborn's way of doing things. Plus, The Beast (no, not the Dark Beast), is losing all his hair, claws, and completely falling apart... I'm sorry, but something about that just screams cool.

Either way, Dark Avengers continues to be a top notch, top tier book, and we're stoked to see where the Dark X-Men saga will be taking us next. Click here for a preview of DARK AVENGERS #7! *DARK X-MEN*

CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED SANDMAN AUTHOR NEIL GAIMAN'S BATMAN: WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE CAPED CRUSADER AND OTHER STORIES HARDCOVER COLLECTION AVAILABLE THIS WEDNESDAY AT THIRD EYE!

All we have to do is say the man's name, and you know you're in for a quality work of fiction. However, when you tack Gaiman's name onto one of the most beloved and iconic comic book heroes of all time... the Dark Knight, then you know you're really in for a treat. This amazingly well put together hardcover collection features Gaiman's heart-wrenching Whatever Happened to The Caped Crusader story arc from last year, as well as a handful of classic previously never before collected Gaiman Batman stories. There's a couple of these we haven't even got a chance to read yet, so of course, we're pumped to check this out.
And, like last week's ALAN MOORE'S WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE MAN OF TOMORROW? this is going to be all put together in a nice, affordably priced hardcover collection that it deserves. There's some things that deserve the hardcover treatment, and Gaiman and Moore working on iconic characters are definitely those things.

INCOGNITO #5 - ED BRUBAKER & SEAN PHILLIPS CRIME NOIR MASTERPIECE CONTINUES TO KEEP US ON THE EDGE OF OUR SEATS! ONE OF THIRD EYE'S CONSISTENT TOP 5s!

Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips have been keeping us extremely enthralled with their magnificent apocalyptic superhero pulp noir story, INCOGNITO. We were already big fans of their work on CRIMINAL and SLEEPER (now finally available again in trade paperback), and INCOGNITO has been some of the best stuff we've read yet. This week, we get another slab of the pulpy goodness that is INCOGNITO, and we can't wait to see where things go next.
What's INCOGNITO all about? Picture this.. a supervillain rehabilitates and goes into Witness Protection, he's given a new life as a bored office drone, and becomes miserable in his new mundane existence... he yearns for the excitement of his old life. Spiraling into a mess of alcohol and drug abuse, he becomes more and more disenfranchised until he realizes that the drugs have cancelled out the medication he was on to subdue his powers. One more night out, he thinks, in the costume.. and from there.. things go horribly wrong.
Incognito is one of the darkest looks at the dynamics of superhumans in comics, and Brubaker does such a damn fine job telling the story. If you missed out on INCOGNITO early on, don't sweat it.. we still have plenty of the INCOGNITO must-have collecting issues #1&#2, as well as limited quantities of #3, and plenty of #4. So, now's your chance to catch up on what has been one of our favorite limited series this year.
Click here to read more about INCOGNITO.

Marvel has been delivering dose after dose of Deadpool awesomeness, and we're still hungry for more! The current ongoing series of Deadpool has really been a solid read month after month, but with issue #10 (Chapter One of Deadpool vs. Bullseye), it really hit it's stride. We're very impressed with it, because hey, it's Bullseye, who's always awesome, and it's Deadpool.. you put those two psychopaths together, and you're bound to get some fun reading! The third installment hits this week, and the blood continues to spill, and ol' Wade Wilson and Bullseye don't want the fun to end! Click here for a preview of DEADPOOL #12 *DEADPOOL VS BULLSEYE CHAPTER 3*

Also, back in stock this week, we have the first three issues of the red hot DEADPOOL: SUICIDE KINGS limited series. This limited has Deadpool taking on everyone from the Punisher to Daredevil to Spider-man, and more. And, it's been a freaking blast! We're stoked to announce that Marvel has put the first three issues back into print, and we'll have them all on Wednesday. So, if you missed em the first time around, then you're in luck to catch up now. Plus, you'll be just in time for when Deadpool Suicide Kings #4 his next week! Click here to read all about DEADPOOL SUICIDE KINGS, and to see the wicked new covers on issues 1-3 (they're a homage to the OLD MAN LOGAN widespread covers)

CAPTAIN AMERICA #601 PICKING UP ON PLOT THREADS OF CAPTAIN AMERICA #600 & REBORN! WITH ART BY COMICS LEGEND GENE COLAN!

We know we weren't the only ones who thought that the new REBORN series from Brubaker and Hitch started off with a bang. It was a fantastic read, and there's some very interesting concepts being brought into the forefront of the story that we're really excited to see how they play out. And, now, before the next issue of REBORN hits at the end of this month, Marvel is giving us a killer read in the pages of CAPTAIN AMERICA #601. This is a special double-sized issue that gives us a look at a forgotten and untold story of Cap, Bucky and Nick Fury back in their WW2 days. And, if we know Brubaker, and how he likes to sprinkle in the tidbits and hints to big things.. we're expecting a very interesting read in relation to how this may fit into the bigger picture of the Marvel universe.

Ontop of all that, it's got art by comics legend, Gene Colan, yes, the man responsible for a big Third Eye classic favorite.. Tomb Of Dracula (under the Marvel Comics banner)! So, not only do we get some killer Brubaker story on one of the most solid books hitting the stands, but we're also in for a treat with some amazing artwork from a classic great like Gene Colan. Click here for a preview of CAPTAIN AMERICA #601!

PHILIP K. DICK'S DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP #1 DEBUTS THIS WEDNESDAY! THE STORY THAT INSPIRED BLADE RUNNER!

There are some stories, and more importantly, some films, that just resonate with us as fans. They're the kinds of stories that rest comfortably at the top of the DVD stack. You know, in those special fancy edition cases. The kind that we really hold near and dear to our hearts. Blade Runner is by far, one of those stories. Harrison Ford, Replicants, a dystopian future... it's all just too damn compelling not to love. And now, the classic book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is being put into a comic book series from the fine folks at BOOM! Entertainment.

The preview pages definitely make the new series look very innovative, and we're very excited to see how the story translates into comic book format. Plus, it's Philip K. Dick... I mean, the man is a huge influence on some of the best comic writers working today.. from Ellis to Morrison, you can find little hints of Dick's influence on modern serial fiction authors.

So, got a hankering for a good cyberpunk dystopian future saga? Or, just a huge Blade Runner fan? Give DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP a look this Wednesday. Just remember, this one's a BOOM! comic, and they go out of print quick, and while we've ordered decently on it.. if you want it really bad, please get in touch with us to reserve a copy, cause once they sell out it'll be a few weeks before the second print.

WEDNESDAY COMICS #2 FOLLOWS UP THE RED HOT FIRST INSTALLMENT OF DC'S NEW 12-WEEK HIT SERIES!

Amazing! That's the only word we can think of to describe how we felt about DC's new WEDNESDAY COMICS series that debuted last week. While it took a little getting used to the format, after the first strip or two.. we were sold. This is an awesome idea. The stories read so well, and in the large, oversized format... it really is a work of art. The fact that DC's brought in tons of top notch talent, like NEIL GAIMAN, MIKE ALLRED, PAUL POPE, BRIAN AZZARELLO, AMANDA CONNER, LEE BERMEJO, JOE KUBERT, and more only sweetens the pot. It was so good that it even exceeded our expectations, and we were sold out by Monday morning of #1. But, don't worry, we will have more WEDNESDAY COMICS #1s back in stock tomorrow afternoon, so you can still hop aboard.

As for this week? Well, it's the second installment folks, Wednesday Comics #2.. and lets face it, a comic that's this good, this unconventional, it's got a very fitting name. Wednesday's our day of worship here at Third Eye, and we're flattered to see DC giving the most important day of the week the props it deserves!

DYNAMITE'S SHERLOCK HOLMES #3 & BUCK ROGERS #2 BRING HIGH MYSTERY AND HIGH ADVENTURE TO THIRD EYE THIS WEDNESDAY!

Dynamite really delivered a couple of hits with these two new series they've unleashed on us. The Sherlock Holmes from Leah Moore (Alan Moore's daughter) has been fantastic. A perfect, pulpy representation of the great detective in all of his glory. Solid artwork, solid story... and it's definitely been a hit with the rest of you guys as well. So it's cool to know we're not the only ones really digging the Sherlock Holmes series. And, the third issue continues with Holmes on the run, and Watson on the case to figure out just what the hell is going on! Click here to read more about SHERLOCK HOLMES #3!

And, then on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, the modern twist on the sci-fi hero, Buck Rogers, gets it's second issue this Wednesday as Dynamite continues their fresh, and inventive take on the classic Man Out Of Time. Click here for a preview of BUCK ROGERS #2!

BOOM ENTERTAINMENT UNVEILS POE #1 FEATURING THE LIFE AND ADVENTURES OF EDGAR ALLEN POE

And while we're on the subject of mysteries, detectives, and all that good stuff... lets give you a heads up on the new BOOM series POE kicking off this Wednesday. Not only did Edgar Allen Poe invent the mystery genre, but he also dabbled in a little detective work himself. This series follows the famous author as he seeks out the killer of his brother's friend. Supernatural mystery at it's finest. This one looks like a must for fans of stuff like Hellboy, and BPRD!

CREEPY COMICS RETURNS THIS WEDNESDAY! ONE OF STEVE'S FAVORITE HORROR COMICS GETS A SECOND LEASE ON LIFE!

When I was a kid growing up on way too many comic books, and way too much punk rock, I used to hassle my parents whenever we were out of town somewhere to stop at the little hole in the wall bookstores, and off-the-wall junk stores. Back in the day, Ocean City had some of the best when it came to hidden treasures. It was a true carnival-esque experience going there back then, and you could always be sure to find some sketchy little store that sold magic tricks, incense, and used books. It was at one of those places that I first discovered CREEPY. Now, I was a monster kid, you see, at the age of 11, obsessed with horror movies, I discovered the recently returned to print Famous Monsters of Filmland stuff.. and that's what really piqued my interest, cause there was a few of those in this stack of CREEPY and EERIE Warren Magazines. And man, was I glad I bought the whole stack (and for like $5!)... all those Frazetta covers, and off the wall stories of vampires, martians, and barbarians helped shape my childhood. So, it's no secret, that when Dark Horse decided they were going to bring CREEPY back.. I got completely and totally stoked.

This one is a MUST for all you horrorhounds out there! Dark Horse has assembled some top notch creators to flesh out the recently returned horror anthology. Everyone from Bernie Wrightson to Eric Powell to Steve Niles are going to be involved in this book. So you know they're going to be dishing out some solid, horrific comics. So, if you want a solid horror anthology, do yourselves a favor and snag up the first issue of CREEPY this Wednesday! Click here for a preview of CREEPY #1!

BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM #2 FROM BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES CREATOR PAUL DINI FOLLOWS UP ON THE SLEEPER HIT FIRST ISSUE!

Paul Dini did a hell of a job on the first issue of Streets of Gotham. We were really impressed. I mean, it's hard to stand out amongst such stellar books like Batman and Robin and Detective Comics, but, he really delivered big time on this one. Streets of Gotham provides a very cool, very gritty street-level look at the Gotham City, and it's new Caped Crusader. I mean, hell, the stuff he did in issue #1 with the Firefly alone.. was so twisted awesome, we loved it.
Big fan of Gotham Central? Want a hard-hitting, gritty look at the street level rogues of Gotham, and the sometimes crooked Gotham City Police Department who has to police them? Streets of Gotham is just the book for you.

PUNISHER #7 *DEAD END PT 2* CONTINUES REMENDER'S KICK-ASS RUN ON THE NEW PUNISHER ONGOING SERIES... AND HEY, JIGSAW'S BACK!

One of the surprises of late last year when Dark Reign kicked off was the brand new Punisher series from up and coming writer Rick Remender. This was the freshest, most exciting take we'd seen on the Punisher since GARTH ENNIS'S PUNISHER MAX run, and we've been loving every issue. It's very hard to fit the Punisher into the mainline 616 Marvel Universe and make it work. Trust us, we've seen many failed attempts. Remender gets it though.. he has the perfect balance of gritty, violent realness, but with just enough absurd Marvel madness to really make the series pop.

This is the second installment of the current story arc, DEAD END, where we see THE HOOD assembling a band of dead, retired, and long-forgotten supervillains who all have a very serious motive for executing the Punisher. Plus, we get to see Remender's take on JIGSAW! How freaking cool is that? Want to jump aboard the current Punisher ongoing? Issue #6 (still in stock at Third Eye) kicked off this current arc, and provides the perfect jumping on point. But, hey, if you want to go back further, we do have limited quantities available on issues 1-5. So, now's your time to catch up on one of the best Marvel ongoing series out. Fans of fresh takes on superhero storytelling like Invincible, and Matt Fraction's run on Iron Man, should give this one a look. Click here for a preview of PUNISHER #7 *DEAD END PT 2*

LAST RESORT #1 - AMANDA CONNER, DARWYN COOKE, JIMMY PALMIOTTI DOING GRINDHOUSE EXPLOITATION MADNESS IN COMIC BOOK FORM! A MUST FOR FANS OF '70S HORROR FLICKS AND FANS OF SICK, TWISTED FUN!

Okay, this one sounds really cool. Sometimes little gems like this kind of slide by, and you don't catch 'em the first time around. Now, admittedly, I'm a huge fan of '70s exploitation flicks.. you know, horror flicks, survival flicks, disaster flicks... all that good stuff... I love it, can't get enough! And, when you mention that some of my favorite creators... the very talented Amanda Conner, Darwyn Cooke, and the Jonah Hex team of Palmiotti and Grey would be doing a comic send-up to these great genres. Well, I flipped out with excitement. And, the actual interior artist, Giancarlo Caracuzzo, looks like he's going to be one hell of a talented newcomer, as his work is AWESOME.
Last Resort looks to be about a group of people stranded on an island, and the lengths they'll go through to survive. This includes cannibalism, murder, blackmail, and who knows what else.. plus, it's a '70s style desert island.. you know there's going to be some crazy stuff lurking in those palm trees!
So, you want something totally violent, totally outrageous, and totally off the wall? Give THE LAST RESORT a try this Wednesday. Click here to read a full preview of LAST RESORT #1!

THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE FOR 7/8/09!

GREEN LANTERN #43 - BLACKEST NIGHT PROLOGUE BRINGS DEATH, DEATH, AND MORE DEATH THIS WEDNESDAY! THE FIRST BLACK LANTERN IS BORN! Plus, read below to find out how to get your own Black Lantern rign with Blackest Night #1 on July 15th!

This is it, folks! The biggest comic book event of this summer has begun! Last week, the initial set up of Blackest Night took place in the pages of Green Lantern Corps. It wasn't until towards the end of that issue that we saw a very important peek of what's to come, but those last two or pages delivered a very ominous message to be continued in this week's GREEN LANTERN #43 *PROLOGUE TO BLACKEST NIGHT!* It's no secret that we're all very stoked here at Third Eye about Blackest Night. Geoff Johns has been the constant for DC these last few years. Everything he's touched has been gold, and even in darker times when there wasn't a whole lot of great titles coming out for the publisher, you could always count on Johns. He began weaving the set up for Blackest Night all the way back in Sinestro Corps War a few years ago, and if you want to dig deeper, you can even see hints of his plans as far back as the early issues of his GL run. What does this mean? Well, folks, when you've got a story that's been slowly building and brewing for that long, you know the creative team and the publisher both have laid everything carefully into place to deliver one hell of a fantastic story. And, we can hardly believe that it's here.
The concept behind Blackest Night is pretty simple, when all of the different color Lantern Corps developed, the mysterious Black Lanterns and their motives were kept hush hush and out of sight. As time has gone on, what we do know is that Blackest Night is probably the most event that the DCU will face. The reasoning behind this? Many major and minor DCU characters will be resurrected as Black Lanterns (i.e Zombie Lanterns), and unleashed on the DCU. Their motives? They've yet to be revealed. All we know is the promo art of characters like Aquaman, Terra, Earth-2 Superman, and more as zombified Black Lanterns has gotten us so excited for this. Not to mention all the other characters that have been confirmed but not pictured as Black Lanterns, like Dick Grayson's parents, Blue Beetle, Dr. Light, and more. And ontop of all that.. it's Geoff Johns here, folks! And he's got some stellar artists helping him out on the entire event.
Now, onto why we're giving Green Lantern #43 the top spot this week here at Third Eye. Last week's Green Lantern Corps #38 was a nice solid kick-off to Blackest Night, and this week's Green Lantern #43 is the opening volley of DEATH! Green Lantern #43 is the official prologue to Blackest Night, and is a must read for all of you awaiting the series. Who is Black Hand, and what does this enigmatic Green Lantern villain hold within him that's fueling the fires of the Blackest Night? We're going to find out, not to mention... THE FIRST BLACK LANTERN GETS REVEALED! With Johns delivering the writing chops, and the fantastic Doug Mahnke providing the artwork... this one is going to be a classic in the making. Ready for Blackest Night? Then make sure you grab your copy of GREEN LANTERN #43 *BLACKEST NIGHT PROLOGUE* this Wednesday! And, if you need to catch up on your Blackest Night, we do still have some Green Lantern Corps #38s left in stock, just shoot us an email and we'll hold you a copy. Curious about the preludes to Blackest Night? Green Lantern 39-42 is the AGENT ORANGE saga which is a nice solid lead in to the event, and in the pages of Green Lantern Corps, Emerald Eclipse has set the stage for the rest of the GL Universe. We still have all of these issues in stock, so if you need help catching up, then just let us know, and we'll get you onboard.

Get in touch with us, and we'll take care of it for you!

WEDNESDAY COMICS #1 DEBUTS THIS NEW WEDNESDAY WITH A NEW GROUNDBREAKING APPROACH TO THE MODERN COMIC BOOK FEATURING ALL-STAR CREATORS LIKE NEIL GAIMAN, BRIAN AZZARELLO, AND MORE!

If there's one thing we're almost as excited for as we are Blackest Night, it's DC's newest 12-issue weekly series, Wednesday Comics. As you know, Third Eye Faithful, we're big fans of things that do new and exciting things with the medium of comic books and sequential art. And DC's newest project looks like it's going to take comics into some bold, new places. Wednesday Comics is an oversize format 12-issue weekly series that will feature several stories every week by critically acclaimed creators. The list of all-star creators includes:

Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso doing BATMAN
Paul Pope doing ADAM STRANGE
Neil Gaiman and Mike Allred doing METAMORPHO
Walt Simonson and Brian Stelfreeze doing THE DEMON AND CATWOMAN
KAMANDI by Dave Gibbons (the illustrator of WATCHMEN) and Ryan Sook
Lee Bermejo (the artist of last year's hit JOKER graphic novel) and John Arcudi doing SUPERMAN
SGT ROCK written by ADAM KUBERT and illustrated by JOE KUBERT
SUPERGIRL by Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner
and many, many more!
Wednesday Comics is going to be fantastic, and we're really behind this project from DC. We really think it's going to be a well-written, gorgeously illustrated, and overall groundbreaking piece of work. We'd highly recommend giving the first issue a go this Wednesday (when else?) here at Third Eye. Click here to read more about WEDNESDAY COMICS.

DARK X-MEN: BEGINNINGS #1 *DARK X-MEN CHAPTER 3* DEBUTS THIS WEDNESDAY! WHO ARE THE DARK X-MEN? FIND OUT THIS WEDNESDAY, AS OSBORN'S MUTANT TEAM IS EXPLORED!

PLUS, X-MEN LEGACY #226 *DARK X-MEN CHAPTER 4* WHICH SIDE WILL ROGUE AND GAMBIT CHOOSE?
Marvel has really hit a home run with their DARK X-MEN story running through Dark Avengers and the X-Titles. I mean, it's been so long since the X-Men have felt like a cohesive part of the Marvel Universe. This storyline really brings back the old school excitement of classic events like Mutant Massacre, but infuses them with that new school level of storytelling and artwork we've all come to love. I mean, it doesn't hurt that the whole Dark Reign storyline, and Dark Avengers saga has been one of the most crucial things we've been reading. And, now, you take that spin on things and apply it to the X-Men corner of the Marvel Universe.. and we're all over it. I mean, c'mon, everyone wants to love the X-Men, we just have to wait for killer storylines like this (and we can't forget about MESSIAH WAR) to come along and remind us why!
After last week's Dark X-Men Chapter 2 in the pages of UNCANNY X-MEN #513, we were totally sold on the concept. We really thought that the Utopia one-shot did a good job of setting things up (and hey, seeing Colossus getting rocked by Venom was pretty cool too), but it was in UNCANNY #513 that we really were caught hook, line and sinker. I don't want to drop too many spoilers, as I know some of you haven't yet picked up last week's issue yet, but, man... the line-up is awesome. It's the perfect mix of characters. Bad guys, in-betweeners, A-Listers, C-Listers... From top to bottom, Namor, Emma Frost down to Cloak, Dagger, and Mimic.. it really pops. And, Marvel has been very smart by having Matt Fraction behind the writing desk on this one. The man is plotting the entire thing, even the books he's not writing himself, he's overseeing the storylines to make sure everything fits together well and maintains that level of quality.
Now, this Wednesday, we get to see who the Dark X-Men are, what their motivations are for joining, and what their plans are in the grand scheme of things, not to mention their roles in the DARK X-MEN, and what role the DARK X-MEN will be playing in the overall mainline Marvel Universe. Click here to check out a preview of DARK X-MEN BEGINNINGS #1
And, lets not forget that this week in the pages of X-MEN LEGACY #226, the other arm of the X-Men are coming to San Francisco, and have no idea what to expect. Osborn's got the entire city under wraps, and he's not letting up. Which way will Rogue and Gambit decide to choose? Find out Wednesday in X-MEN LEGACY #226! Click here for a preview of X-MEN LEGACY #226 *DARK X-MEN PT 4*

BATMAN #688*BATMAN REBORN* and RED ROBIN #2 *BATMAN REBORN* CONTINUE THE BATMAN:REBORN SAGA THIS WEDNESDAY! TRUST US, FOLKS, THE BAT-BOOKS HAVE BEEN AWESOME! NOW IS THE TIME TO JUMP ON!

Let me start off by giving major props to DC Comics. They have really been doing a great job this summer in revitalizing their books, and the Bat-books especially have been a real treat. While Batman & Robin is my favorite of the bunch, I've got to say that both BATMAN #687 and RED ROBIN #1 impressed the hell out of me. Especially the first issue of BATMAN with the new direction. The artwork was stellar, and we got Judd Winick bringing his A-game to the writing. It's been a while since Winick has really been firing on all cylinders like he did on BATMAN #687, but, man, he is back to top form. Anyway, this week, the core Batman book, Batman, takes the Dark Knight into a Gotham City that's not quite ready to accept the new Caped Crusader. Two-Face and Penguin are both putting measures into place to keep this new Dark Knight at bay, and.. uh oh, big things are revealed to them about the new Dark Knight. Not to mention we get to see Batman training the new Robin. Make sure you don't miss this second installment in the new direction of the core BATMAN book that reflects the overall course of the line of titles. Great art, great story, this one's an A-Plus, folks. Click here for a preview of BATMAN #688!

Also arriving this Wednesday is RED ROBIN #2, which continues from the awesome start that Red Robin #1 delivered. The big reveal of Ras Al Ghul at the end was a nice little twist, as we've been waiting to see the Demon playing a bigger role in the Bat-universe. What's Ras Al Ghul got planned for Red Robin, why are the League of Assassins being systematically wiped out, and what's good ol' Tim Drake gonna do about his old life? We'll have to find out this week in Red Robin. The first issue of Red Robin really had some good moments, and lets face it, it's pretty cool to be part of a historical shift in a character's lifespan like this. I know how it must've felt to be reading Teen Titans way way back in the day and witnessing the transition of Dick Grayson from Robin to Nightwing. It's pretty cool to see Tim, the Robin I grew up with, moving into this position. There was a really great scene in the first issue where Dick empathizes how he sees Tim as an equal, and not as a lesser, and it's just pretty damn cool. Okay, okay, I know I'm getting carried away. But, yeah, make sure you give RED ROBIN #2 a look this Wednesday! Click here for a preview of RED ROBIN #2!

CHEW #1 BACK IN STOCK AT THIRD EYE THIS WEDNESDAY!

The first issue of Chew apparently generated an incredible amount of internet heat when it first came out. And, apparently, we here at Third Eye were one of the few who ordered big on this title, because the print run was extremely low. The concept really intrigued me, and I had faith in the book, so we pushed it, and man, that puppy flew out of here fast. And while it's rare we sell out of a title that quick, every now and again, a fluke happens. But, if you missed Chew #1, don't fear... we've got second prints of the first issue coming back in stock this Wednesday! Now, again, Image Comics did a very low print run on this sucker, and once these are gone, we'll have to wait on the third printing.. so if you're interested in checking the series out, and have not already asked us to set one of these aside for you, then please get in touch.

But, before I move on.. let me give you a heads up as to why Chew is taking off so well. First off, it's incredibly well-written with some very unique and interesting artwork. The concept is amazingly simple, but super cool... basically, Detective Chu has a unique ability. He receives psychic impressions off of anything that he eats. So, as a detective.. how does he solve a crime from time to time? Well, maybe a little nibble here and there on a murder victim or two. Awesome? Yes. You want to read it? Yes. Now, click here to read a review of CHEW #1!

ALAN MOORE'S "WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE MAN OF TOMORROW?" AVAILABLE THIS WEDNESDAY! A MUST READ SUPERMAN STORY NOW COLLECTED ALONG WITH MOORE'S OTHER CLASSIC SUPERMAN TALES ("FOR THE MAN WHO HAS EVERYTHING")

If there's one storyline that I really wish had been available this Spring with all the attention Moore had gotten due to the WATCHMEN film... it's "WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE MAN OF TOMORROW?" This classic Superman tale has served as one of the DEFINITIVE Superman stories, and in my eyes, is the perfect Superman story. And all of this is coming from a guy who's not really a giant Superman fan. This storyline has been long out of print, and DC has now collected it along with other classic Alan Moore Superman stories (like "For The Man Who Has Everything") into an affordable, deluxe edition hardcover. If you're either an Alan Moore fan, a Superman fan, or hell, a comics fan in general.. then you must read this perfect demonstration of this medium that we love so much. In "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?", Moore delivers the "last Superman story". A closing of the book on Superman. The framing of the story is told in the future, where a middle-aged Lois Lane is interviewed by a journalist about the last days of the Last Son of Krypton. The story itself sees several of Superman's classic villains coming out of the woodwork to rid the world of him. The story climaxes in an epic showdown at the Fortress of Solitude, and well.. we don't want to give everything away. Sounds simple, right? Trust us, folks, this is Moore at his best. He's taking simple concepts, memorable characters from Sups's past, and more and weaving one hell of a yarn. This one is a very touching story, and you can bet I'll be adding a copy of this hardcover to my own personal library as it's worth it for this story alone.
But wait! Also collected in this volume is Moore's classic "For the Man Who Has Everything", where Mongul stages a plan to give Superman the world he wants.. Superman is put into a state of coma with a plant that delivers his ideal reality. Batman, of course, comes to the rescue, but also ends up falling prey to the plant, witnessing a world where Joe Chill didn't kill his parents. Another touching, and epic storyline, The Man Who Has Everything is a solid classic. And, finally, you also get a Moore-penned meeting of Swamp Thing (the character Moore is known for so well) meeting the Man of Tomorrow.
All in all, this one's a must to add to your bookshelf. Click here to read more about WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE MAN OF TOMORROW?

BPRD 1947 #1 BRINGS MIGNOLA'S DARK, OCCULT WORLD BACK TO LIFE THIS WEDNESDAY!

The BPRD series, like most of Mike Mignola's stuff, are true gems. We really haven't been unhappy with any of these. However, there are some that really stand out as extraordinary, and BPRD: 1946 was one of those. A very cool look at Professor Broom as a young man, the discovery of the baby Hellboy, and more... we get to see the very early workings of the BPRD. The year was 1946, and the Nazi Occult Bureau developed Project Vampire Sturm a year after WW2 had ended. But, now, BPRD is learning that there's creations way worse than what the Nazis had created, and all hell is about to break loose. Plus, it's got a Vampire nobleman relentlessly hunting down surviving members of the Third Reich.. I mean, c'mon, a vampire slaughtering Nazis, is this one a pulp masterpiece in the making or what? Click here to read more about BPRD 1947!

UNWRITTEN #3 ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING THE BEST NEW VERTIGO SERIES WE'VE SEEN IN QUITE SOME TIME! #1 BACK IN STOCK AT THIRD EYE NOW AS WELL!

Vertigo really struck gold with their new series, the Unwritten. It's only two issues in, and we're completely and totally stoked to see where this story is going. This is the series that Brian K. Vaughn (Y THE LAST MAN) has gone on record as saying he'd wish he'd thought of it. A twisted look at the cult of celebrity that surrounds things like the Harry Potter novels, the Unwritten presents the story of Tommy Taylor, who finds out that he's not a real being at all, but the fictional character his supposed father had wrote the books about. And, this week, as the worlds of fiction and reality blend, Tom Taylor is travelling to the place where Frankenstein was conceived... and it's also the same place his dad wrote his first Tommy Taylor novel... now, wonder how this is all gonna turn out, huh? If you haven't already read the UNWRITTEN, we have plenty of 1s and 2s still in stock at Third Eye, so give it a whirl! Click here to read more about UNWRITTEN #3!
