THIS WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS @ THIRD EYE COMICS FOR WEDNESDAY 1/25/12

USTICE LEAGUE #5 – The flagship of the DC NEW 52 arrives this Wednesday to deliver the big one: JUSTICE LEAGUE vs. DARKSEID
Missed 1-4? We’ve got copies in stock to catch you up
The flagship of the DC NEW 52, by far, has been JUSTICE LEAGUE, which has delivered issue upon issue of kick-ass, in-your-face, bigger-than-life superhero action like no other title on the stands.
BLACKEST NIGHT / AQUAMAN / BRIGHTEST DAY writer GEOFF JOHNS and comics legend JIM LEE (BATMAN HUSH, X-MEN, WILDCATS) have come together as a literal dream-team of talent to deliver what has quickly become the number one book on nearly every comic reader’s list.
And, now, as we move into the fifth issue of JUSTICE LEAGUE, with the team officially formed, and working together… we get to the real nitty gritty: the bad guys. Yup, it’s JUSTICE LEAGUE vs. DARKSEID, and it is going to be OFF… THE.. CHAIN!
Seriously though, this book lives up to the hype in every way imaginable. Set in the past of the DC NEW 52, this book refines, and reintroduces the origins and motivations of the JUSTICE LEAGUE in their early, formative days. Adding new dimensions, and an edge to these icons of the DCU, this is the definitive must-read of the DC NEW 52.
We love the characterization, and plotting by GEOFF JOHNS, and JIM LEE’S artwork has never looked better.
All we can say is if you’re still not on board with JUSTICE LEAGUE, please, catch up this Wednesday, and find out why this book deserves all the accolades it receives.
Missed issues 1-4? We’ve got copies of each in stock to catch you up to this week’s #5

UNCANNY X-FORCE writer RICK REMENDER begins his highly anticipated run on SECRET AVENGERS with SECRET AVENGERS #21.1 this Wednesday! Jump on board with this issue!
SECRET AVENGERS is about to become your next favorite Marvel title, Third Eye Faithful. Trust us on this one, it’s going to be BIG. And, this week’s issue #21.1 is the perfect spot to jump on board what is looking to be one of the most exciting new launches for Marvel in 2012.
And, why are we so excited about SECRET AVENGERS? Because UNCANNY X-FORCE writer RICK REMENDER is coming aboard as the regular writer on the title, and bringing the same kind of kick-ass superhero team magic that he brought to UNCANNY X-FORCE to this black ops-centric team of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Throw in the very talented Patrick Zircher on artwork, and we’re in store for one hell of a kick-ass read.
I was lucky enough to sit down with some advance pages of SECRET AVENGERS, and I have to tell you: it’s incredible. Remender brings the same kind of energy, excitement, and quick-paced, strong storytelling he demonstrated in UNCANNY X-FORCE to the pages of SECRET AVENGERS, and we’re loving it. Zircher’s artwork is on a whole new level here, and is a great companion to Remender’s razor-sharp plot and story.
With issue #21.1, serving as the definitive jump on point, and entry area for SECRET AVENGERS, we highly recommend picking this issue up to hop aboard the series, and prepare for Remender’s epic run. #21.1 is being used by Remender to seed and set up long-term stories, the kind of stories he’s become known for with how he plotted out UNCANNY X-FORCE’s recent DARK ANGEL SAGA.
This first issue starts with the new Masters of Evil setting up their own sovereign nation off the Eastern coast of Africa, and putting together a country that is run by criminals for criminals. Of course, this poses a huge problem for the Avengers, because of the legal restrictions on super-villains that retreat to this country.
It looks like the central characters of the title will be Captain America and Hawkeye, which, in my opinion, is awesome. The history between these two is definitely long-running, and the dynamic should be interesting to see play out.
The line-up for the team is looking pretty intriguing as well, as we’re going to see a roster that includes the Beast, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Venom, Captain Britain, Giant-Man, and more. It’s going to be a line-up of some of the Marvel Universe’s biggest power-houses, and we’re pretty stoked to see how it all plays out.
Folks, don’t miss out, hop aboard with this Wednesday’s SECRET AVENGERS #21.1. UNCANNY X-FORCE has quickly turned into one of the hottest books on the stands, and we have a pretty strong suspicion that SECRET AVENGERS will be following suit.

NANCY IN HELL ON EARTH #1 - NANCY IN HELL returns this Wednesday with more chainsaw-wielding, Vodka-chugging mayhem!
Missed the first series? Try the NANCY IN HELL trade paperback, collecting the entire first run this week!
Pure grindhouse craziness hits the shop this Wednesday with a brand new NANCY IN HELL series, following up the fan-favorite NANCY IN HELL debut from last year. A killer blend of cult movie mayhem, sheer terror, and incredible artwork, we really dug the original run of NANCY IN HELL, and are pretty stoked to see the series return.
After dying, going to Hell, cutting a path through the legions of the damned with her trusty chainsaw, and finding herself in an unlikely pairing with Lucifer himself, Nancy has returned. Freshly escaped from Hell, the chainsaw-wielding Nancy finds that the Gates of Hell remained open, and all kinds of demons are pouring out onto Earth. Our world is the newest infernal region, and nobody will help the humans.. not even the angels from Heaven.
So, Nancy decides to take it upon herself to dish out some chainsaw justice.
Another great IMAGE COMICS series, NANCY IN HELL’s a lot of fun, and we highly recommend the series if you’re big on horror movies, or the tongue-in-cheek carnage of series like HACK/SLASH. You’ll love NANCY IN HELL.
Missed the original debut series? We’ve got the first trade paperback in stock, and available for you to catch up to this week’s NANCY IN HELL (ON EARTH) #1.

AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER returns in all-new stories with the new DARK HORSE COMICS series AVATAR THE LAST AIRBENDER: THE PROMISE.
The bridge between AVATAR THE AIRBENDER and it’s upcoming sequel LEGEND OF KORRA!
We know that many of you guys are big AVATAR fans, like ourselves, and are pretty darn pumped about the upcoming comic book sequels to AVATAR that DARK HORSE is coming out with.
Well, folks, the wait is finally over. In a new series of trade paperbacks, the story of Aang and friends continues with a face-off against the Fire Nation that threatens to throw the world into another war, testing all of Aang’s powers and ingenuity.
Serving as the official bridge between the conclusion of the AVATAR THE AIRBENDER series, and the upcoming AVATAR LEGEND OF KORRA series, this is a must-read in-continuity AVATAR story that should not be missed.

AQUAMAN #5 - THE BIGGEST HIT OF THE DC NEW 52 CONTINUES THIS WEDNESDAY WITH “BLACKEST NIGHT” creative team GEOFF JOHNS and IVAN REIS CONTINUING TO KICK-ASS ON AQUAMAN
MISSED 1-4? We’ve got copies in stock to catch you up!
AQUAMAN has quickly proven that it’s the biggest breakout hit of the DC NEW 52, and folks: there’s no secret why. It’s AMAZING. Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis, the talented fellows behind BLACKEST NIGHT and BRIGHTEST DAY, are delivering some of their most amazing work with this incredible take on AQUAMAN that really proves why this character has remained a DC ICON for so many years.
We know, we know, many of you who aren’t already reading the series, still may not be convinced: AQUAMAN? Cool? Really? But, folks: any character can be amazing with the right creative team, and nothing proves it more than the NEW 52′s AQUAMAN.
Using  a subtle blend of humor that helps address the lack of respect Aquaman receives, and a dynamic, action-packed sense off storytelling that demonstrates just how badass a character AQUAMAN can be, Geoff Johns is really shaping Arthur Curry into the fan-favorite of the DCU.
With us coming up on the tail end of AQUAMAN #4, and the Cthulhian underwater baddies known as the Trench, it looks like we’re moving into the next issue of AQUAMAN, where the King of the Sea has been left for the dead in the middle of the desert. But, how did he find himself marooned in such a hellish environment? And, as Aquaman struggles to survive impossible odds, what extreme measures will he have to resort to in order to stay alive?
Folks: you know it’s going to kick-ass, and I’m right there with you. I cannot wait to read this week’s AQUAMAN.
Not reading AQUAMAN? You gotta give it a shot. We’ve got issues 1-4 in stock now to catch you up to this Wednesday’s AQUAMAN #5.

DAREDEVIL VOL.1 HARDCOVER ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY COLLECTING THE FIRST SIX ISSUES OF MARK WAID, MARCOS MARTIN and PAOLA RIVERA’S INCREDIBLE NEW ONGOING DAREDEVIL SERIES
Dude.. the new MARK WAID run on DAREDEVIL is some of THE best stuff out there, I gotta tell you. Incredible artwork, incredible storytelling, this is just plain good comics, Third Eye Faithful, and it’s delivering a very compelling, and innovative take to a character that had reached a dead end in terms of earlier stories. While my favorite run of the series remains the now-classic BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS and ALEX MALEEV run, I have to tell you: Waid and co. are really giving Bendis’s run a run for it’s money.
Now available this Wednesday, the first six issues for the low price of $19.99, in Marvel’s premiere hardcover format, DAREDEVIL arrives, and we could not be more stoked.
The combination of Waid’s swashbuckling approach to the character, and the incredible artwork of Rivera and Martin (which conjures up the pop art feel of Marvel’s silver age with a modern twist), have made this one an absolute must-read month in, and month out. Now, with new enemies, new friends, and that same old “grinnin’ in the face of hell” attitude, the Man Without Fear is back in action. Voted as Marvel’s best new series of 2011, hop onboard, and find out why we’re so hooked on DAREDEVIL.

WALKING DEAD #93 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, AS THE COUNTDOWN TO WALKING DEAD #100 CONTINUES… THINGS GET SERIOUS.
WALKING DEAD has remained one of my top monthly reads for nearly seven years. That’s incredible, Third Eye Faithful. For a book to have that kind of longevity, and staying power, it’s just plain amazing. And, now, as we get closer and closer to issue #100.. things are beginning to get pretty damn serious.
While I know that spoilers are NEVER a good thing when it comes to WALKING DEAD, all I’ll say is this: if you’re on the trade paperbacks, and are curious about jumping onto the single issues: do so now. It’s incredible stuff that we’re seeing here. And, you’re not too far behind, with only issue #92 and this week’s #93 following on the heels of the recently released WALKING DEAD TPB VOL.15. And, we’ve got plenty to catch you up.

TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE #1 BEGINS THE COMPANION ONGOING SERIES TO MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE. AN EXCELLENT JUMPING ON-POINT, AND AN ALL-NEW DIRECTION AS A WORLD WITHOUT OPTIMUS PRIME IS EXPLORED
IDW has been hitting home run after home run with their kick-ass handling of their licensed properties, and between TF, the current GI JOE arc with COBRA COMMAND, and TMNT… we gotta give ‘em props. Serious props!
This Wednesday, following in the wake of last month’s DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME one-shot ( still in stock to catch you up ), TRANSFORMERS ROBOTS IN DISGUISE #1 launches the second of two new ongoing series exploring the vast world of the TRANSFORMERS universe.
This new series is a great jumping on point for TRANSFORMERS, as it follows up on the events of DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME, and shows us how Bumblebee and his fellow Autobots are struggling to maintain control of a world without Optimus Prime.
Missed MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE #1 or DEATH OF OPTIMUS PRIME ? We’ve got copies of both in stock to catch you up.

CATWOMAN VOLUME 1  ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY COLLECTING THE FIRST 300 pages of ED BRUBAKER’S (writer of FATALE,  CAPTAIN AMERICA: WINTER SOLDIER, CRIMINAL, and more) and DARWYNE COOKE’S (DC NEW FRONTIER) CATWOMAN run
A MUST-READ!
One of the BEST runs of the 2000s was Ed Brubaker (CRIMINAL, FATALE, GOTHAM CENTRAL, CAPTAIN AMERICA) and Darwyn Cooke’s (DC NEW FRONTIER) incredible CATWOMAN series.
Talk about a perfect pairing of writer and artist, these two kicked off one of the most memorable runs of CATWOMAN we’ve seen, and now, this character-defining run is beginning to be reprinted into kick-ass new trade paperbacks starting with this Wednesday’s CATWOMAN VOL.1 trade paperback.
Over 300 pages of comic book goodness, this one collects the start of Brubaker and Cooke’s collaboration with Selina’s Big Score, and then goes into the intro arc from DETECTIVE COMICS #759-#762, and then the first nine issues of the now-classic CATWOMAN ongoing series.
Curious about the last decade of Selina Kyle? How she’s turned into the character she is today? Start here, and find out why we’re pumped to see this run finally being collected properly.

A.D.D GRAPHIC NOVEL FROM VERTIGO COMICS DELIVERS AN INCREDIBLE CYBERPUNK SCI-FI EPIC FROM MEDIA THEORIST, AUTHOR, AND FRONTLINE TV CORRESPONDENT DOUGLAS RUSHKOFF.
PART SOCIAL SCI-FI, PART X-MEN, FOR THE PLAYSTATION GENERATION
This one really caught my eye, and I’m getting more and more stoked to see how you guys dig it. A very cool cyberpunk sci-fi epic that tackles topics like social media, video games, and the impact of them on future generations… it looks… incredible!
What’s the scoop? The Adolescent Demo Division are the world’s luckiest teen gamers. Raised from birth to test media, appear on reality TV and enjoy the fruits of corporate culture, the squad develop special abilities that make them the envy of the world — and a grave concern to their keepers.
One by one, they “graduate” to new levels that are not what they seem. But their heightened abilities can only take them so far as the ultimate search for their birth families leads to an inconceivably harrowing discovery.
An incredibile sci-fi story about how we consume media, and the effects it has on our culture, with enough stuff getting blown up to keep it interesting… A.D.D rocks. :)

INFESTATION 2 #1 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, PITTING THE NINJA TURTLES, STEAMPUNK TRANSFORMERS, THE GI JOES, TEAM DANGER GIRL, AND MORE AGAINST CTHULH HIMSELF!
Yes.. NINJA TURTLES vs. CTHULHU! STEAMPUNK TRANSFORMERS! WHAT MORE NEED WE SAY? :)
Okay, we’re sorry: but this is amazing. IDW ups the ante on their previous INFESTATION series (zombies vs. Transformers, and everything else in between)… and, takes it up a notch with INFESTATION 2.

The multiple universes of the IDWverse converge into one, as a bigger threat than any of them have ever faced surfaces. That’s right, LOVECRAFTIAN demons, including the Big C himself, have reached cross time and space to destroy everything and everyone in their paths.

Now, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the GI Joes, Team DANGER GIRL, the Transformers, and more, must combine forces to throw down with Cthulhu, and all the other horrors of the depths.

We’ve seen some advances, and all we can say is this looks like a blast… STEAMPUNK TRANSFORMERS? How cool is that?

TEEN TITANS #5 – The Teen Titans throw down against.. SUPERBOY?! And it’s epic! Find out why TEEN TITANS is one of the DC NEW 52′s fastest rising hit series!
Missed issues 1-4? We’ve got copies in stock to catch you up
Teen Titans has quickly become one of my favorites of the DC NEW 52, with the kick-ass creative team of SCOTT LOBELL (RED HOOD AND THE OUTLAWS) and BRETT BOOTH. This is really the best TT series I’ve seen since the early days of Geoff Johns’s relaunch of Titans back in the early 2000s.

A killer team roster, non-stop action, and incredible artwork from Booth, have made this into a huge favorite around the shop, and we’re loving it.

Now, moving forward, in this week’s TEEN TITANS #5, the Teen Titans must square off against N.O.W.H.E.R.E’s most powerful weapon… The Superboy. But can the cunning of Red Robin, the speed of Kid Flash, and the psionic might of Bunker stop a threat that has already taken out the powerhouse known as Wonder Girl?

Folks, this one’s going to kick-ass, and we can’t wait. Looking for another DC NEW 52 to add to your reading list? Try TEEN TITANS, you’ll be pleasantly surprised with how awesome this series has been.

Missed issues 1-4? We’ve got copies of each in stock to catch you up to this week’s #5.

FANTASTIC FOUR #602 & FF #14 ARRIVE THIS WEDNESDAY CONTINUING ONE OF THE MOST KICK-ASS MARVEL STORY ARCS RUNNING
For the last year or two, you guys have been listening to me rant, and rave about how great FANTASTIC FOUR has been ever since Jonathan Hickman came on board, so I won’t bore yourself by repeating the same thing I’ve said over and over again.
All I will say is that this is some of the BEST superhero storytelling being done for either of the big two publishers right now, and I cannot, get enough.
Looking for a killer jumping on point to start fresh? Try FANTASTIC FOUR #600, and we have all the subsequent issues of both FF and FANTASTIC FOUR in stock and available for you to get caught up.
Wanna go back further? We recommend starting with the FANTASTIC FOUR by JONATHAN HICKMAN trade paperback volume 1, and catching up from there.
Either way: you will not be disappointed, as this is some of the best stuff on the stands right now.

BULLETPROOF COFFIN: DISINTERRED #1 BRINGS THE RETURN OF THE PSYCHEDELIC CULT FAVORITE OF 2011.. SHAKY KANE’S ARTWORK? AMAZING.
Wanna Try the First Series? Snag the BULLETPROOF COFFIN TPB this Wednesday
We were huge fans of last year’s BULLETPROOF COFFIN, which showcased the insane, and amazing artwork of the one and only Shaky Kane, and now we’re stoked to see BULLETPROOF COFFIN returning this year with a brand new series packed full of the technicolor madness that is Shaky Kane!
BULLETPROOF COFFIN: DISINTERRED starts off with the origin of the SHIELD OF JUSTICE, and with it, we get a tale of treachery, murder, and unrequited lust. When headless corpses start to appear on the first night of the full moon, ace detective Johnny P. Sartre smells a rat… and, from there, all hell breaks loose.
This incredible series brings the kind of meta-fictional take on superheroes that we love to see when done well, and BULLETPROOF COFFIN does it fantastic. Completely weird, bizarre, and full of a awesomeness, give BULLETPROOF COFFIN a shot this Wednesday.

GAME OF THRONES #5 CONTINUES THE KICK-ASS NEW COMIC BOOK TAKE ON GEORGE RR MARTIN’S CLASSIC SAGA
We have been totally impressed by the excellent job that DYNAMITE has done with the comic book spin on George RR Martin’s GAME OF THRONES series.
We’re huge fans of A GAME OF THRONES, and are totally stoked with how kick-ass of a job they’re doing bringing something new to the world of A GAME OF THRONES with the comics, but still keeping true to the original stories.
Missed out on issues 1-4? We’ve got copies of each in stock to catch you up to this week’s #5.

BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT #5 BRINGS THE SCARECROW TO CENTER STAGE, AND CONTINUES THE LEAD-IN TO THE GRAND RETURN OF BANE
David Finch’s BATMAN THE DARK KNIGHT has been quickly becoming one of our DC NEW 52 favorites with the incredible visuals that Finch lays out on this book, and the dark, very ARKHAM CITY-esque feel to the storytelling.
If you were looking for one comic that lined up close to the Chris Nolan BATMAN films, it’s Finch’s THE DARK KNIGHT, and now, more than ever, we’re seeing this demonstrated. As we’ve seen a slow build-up to what we have a feeling is going to be an EPIC Bane story, all we can say is that Finch is telling one hell of a Batman yarn.
And, in this week’s #5, the Scarecrow, a fan-favorite villain to be sure, takes center stage, as he attacks Batman with a newer, more powerful twist on his Fear toxin.
Missed issues 1-4? We’ve got copies in stock and available to catch you up.

IRREDEEMABLE VOLUME 8 TRADE PAPERBACK ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY, BRINGING THE PLUTONIAN BACK TO EARTH IN A BIG WAY…. FIND OUT WHY IRREDEEMABLE’S ONE OF OUR FAVORITE SERIES, AS “DAREDEVIL” WRITER MARK WAID SHOWS US A WORLD WHERE “SUPERMAN” HAS GONE EVIL!
All right, folks, if you’re already reading IRREDEEMABLE, then you don’t need me to convince you of how awesome this series continues to be. All I can say is that things are getting EVEN cooler as we move forward, and Volume 8 sets up some very crucial stuff….
Now, for those of you not already reading IRREDEEMABLE, you gotta give this one a shot. Seriously, one of our consistent favorite books at Third Eye. IRREDEEMABLE is the story of the Plutonian, a SUPERMAN arch-type of a character that reaches his breaking point, goes mad, and turns on the world he once fought to save. Now, he’s killed half the population, most of the superheroes, and rules it like a mad king… and, the depths of his depravities, know no bounds.
We’ve been hooked with issue upon issue of the series, as Waid has not just used this as a platform to tell the story of a Superhero turned Super-Villain, but has used it as a way to build up a fascinating, and compelling fully realized world of complex superheroes and super villains who have found themselves in new positions in a world where the world’s most powerful being has gone mad.
Highly recommended, snag a copy of IRREDEEMABLE vol.1 this week, and find out why we love the series so much.

BATMAN BEYOND: INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION TRADE PAPERBACK COLLECTS 1-8 OF LAST YEAR’S BATMAN BEYOND ONGOING SERIES INTO ONE KILLER TRADE
We’re big fans of BATMAN BEYOND here at Third Eye, and have been completely stoked on the revival of Terry McGinnis and his world that we’ve seen out of DC in the last few years.
Now, this Wednesday, the entire BATMAN BEYOND ongoing series from last year, which ran for 8 issues prior to the DC RELAUNCH, is collected into one kick-ass trade paperback.
Capturing the same kind of awesomeness of the original BATMAN BEYOND animated series, but with a slightly more sophisticated edge, INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION tells the story of a super-powered criminal who’s gotten in over his head, and the whole Justice League Beyond descending upon Neo-Gotham to hunt him down.
Killer stuff, snag yourself a copy this Wednesday at Third Eye!

STUFF OF LEGEND: THE JESTER’S TALE #4 – THE CONCLUSION TO THE LATEST INSTALLMENT OF STUFF OF LEGEND ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY!
NEVER READ STUFF OF LEGEND? SNAG THE FIRST TPB, AND FIND OUT WHY WE LOVE THIS KILLER MASH-UP OF “TOY STORY” meets “SAVING PRIVATE RYAN”
The third volume of modern fantasy favorite STUFF OF LEGEND concludes this Wednesday with JESTER’S TALE #4, and we’re pretty stoked to read it. As one of our big favorites here at Third Eye, STUFF OF LEGEND has really demonstrated it’s longevity as a solid, crossover modern fantasy hit that balances out surreal storybook-like artwork, and a razor-sharp story to make for one hell of a great read.
If you’ve never read STUFF OF LEGEND, you really gotta give this one a shot. A mixture of TOY STORY and SAVING PRIVATE RYAN if it was directed by Guilermo del Toro, STUFF OF LEGEND tells the story of a young boy who finds himself kidnapped by the Boogeyman and taken into his world. The boy’s toys come to life, and venture off to rescue him, and when they cross into the Boogeyman’s realm, they become real world counterparts to themselves. So, the teddy bear becomes a ferocious grizzly, the toy soldier becomes a real soldier, and so on and so forth.
Totally kick-ass stuff, snag the first trade paperback for only $13.00 this week at Third Eye, and give it a shot.

RESURRECTION MAN VOL.1 TRADE PAPERBACK COLLECTS THE ENTIRE 336 PAGE RUN OF THE CULT FAVORITE ORIGINAL RUN OF RESURRECTION MAN!
A MUST-READ
It’s like DC reached into my old long boxes, and started reissuing all the stuff I loved too much to sell when I sold off my collection to open Third Eye back in the day! :) Seriously, first CHASE, now RESURRECTION MAN? I’m in heaven.
Before he was the killer sleeper hit of the DC NEW 52, Resurrection Man was a vastly underrated little DC title in the late ’90s that was garnering tons of critical acclaim. Now, the entire run of RESURRECTION MAN is collected into one massive tome of awesomeness, and we are stoked.
Meet Mitch Shelley, he can be killed, but every time he comes back, he has a different power — a new ability that sometimes is a blessing, sometimes a deadly curse.
His deaths and rebirths leave him disoriented, but with the help of a new friend, Mitch discovers bits of his past, although the origin of his powers remain a mystery. Meanwhile, the Resurrection Man’s creators have set the ruthless female assassins known as the Body Doubles on his trail. And, oh, did web mention that there’s a sociopath who shares similar powers to Mitch? The only difference? His body is not repairing itself like Mitch’s.
Totally incredible stuff, with a macabre sensibility to it, RESURRECTION MAN’s a true gem, and we recommend snagging up this trade paperback and diving into this one.

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #5 HITS THIS WEDNESDAY, CONTINUING THE SLEEPER HIT SERIES OF THE NEW 52 THAT WE’RE LOVING MORE AND MORE WITH EACH INSTALLMENT
I gotta tell you, Third Eye Faithful, JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK is really creeping up as one of the best mid-tier DC NEW 52 books on the stands.
Focusing on the supernatural corners of the DC UNIVERSE, and giving us a very cool, fresh take on the JOHN CONSTANTINE, HELLBLAZER character, this series puts together a fascinating gathering of supernatural-themed characters like Constantine, Zatanna, Shade the Changing Man, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, and more, and… it works. It’s really an incredibly fun read, as it goes into corners of the DCU you don’t normally see explored, and since none of these characters are heavy-hitters in the mainstream DCU, Peter Milligan seems to have a ton of freedom to do some very cool, and very interesting things with them.
And, the artwork…Mikel Janin’s stuff is AWESOME, and I’m not sure why we’re not seeing more talk about how good the art on this one is, as it’s a fantastic looking book.
Highly recommended, if you’re not reading it currently, jump on board with JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK #1-4, all in stock now, and catch up to this week’s #5.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND #1 FROM ZENESCOPE BRINGS A RETURN TO A TWISTED WORLD OF WONDERLAND
The talented folks at ZENESCOPE are venturing back into the twisted realm of WONDERLAND this Wednesday with ALICE IN WONDERLAND #1.
We’ve always been big fans of Zenescope’s horrific take on the Wonderland mythos, and this ALICE IN WONDERLAND series looks to be their best take on it yet.
What’s the story? Decades ago, a girl named Alice was sacrificed into the horror-filled realm of Wonderland but her terrifying and awe-inspiring experiences there have been shrouded in mystery. The one thing known is that her time spent in a world full of insanity left her a broken adult. However, her courageous will to survive is what ultimately saved humanity. Now the story of Alice’s visit into Wonderland is fully revealed and the truth of the terror will be told in full.
The storyline that many of you who’ve read other Zenescope WONDERLAND tales have been waiting for arrives this Wednesday, with this official origin of the Alice in Wonderland mythos.
Never read any of the Zenescope WONDERLAND stuff? Jump aboard fresh with this Wednesday’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND #1, which is a great, new-reader friendly jumping on point for the series.

STAFF PICKS
ANNAPOLIS
STEVE: PROPHET #21 - OK. It’s really PROPHET #1, but you know.. comic book numbering doesn’t really matter these days, right? The first issue in a new direction for a once-forgotten series.. and, hot damn, this was the best book I read last week. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
TRISH: CROSSED PSYCHOPATH #7 - It’s like a car accident, and I can’t stop looking.. seriously, the most disturbing issue of CROSSED to date.
TORMA: UNCANNY X-FORCE #20 - Is it possible to top the DARK ANGEL SAGA? If the first issue of the TRIAL OF FANTOMEX is any indication, that’s what Remender looks to be doing.
 PRINCE FREDERICK
GEORGE: BATMAN #5 - This has been the perfect Batman series so far, and this issue is the best one yet.
SHAUN:  - DIABLO #2 - Joseph Lacroix’s dark, sketchy art captures the world of Sanctuary quite well. This comic is all that’s holding me over till the next game hits shelves, but that’s all right, because it’s awesome!
